incel

Type: Concept

As of November 2026, incel has been mentioned in 2 episodes across 1 podcast, first heard Nov 2025 on The Ezra Klein Show. The Ezra Klein Show discusses the concept of incels in relation to figures like Nick Fuentes, describing him as a "self-described proud incel" and "socially maladjusted." This characterization highlights how the term is used negatively to critique certain individuals within political discussions.

An incel, is a member of an online subculture of mostly heterosexual men who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one. The incel subculture came to wider public attention in the 2010s with the banning of controversial subreddit r/incels and a series of mass murders committed by men who either identified as incels or held similar ideologies, including Elliot Rodger and Alek Minassian.
