Type: Concept

As of November 2026, Mediumship has been mentioned in 2 episodes across 1 podcast, first heard Oct 2025 on The Telepathy Tapes. The podcast "The Telepathy Tapes" discusses mediumship by exploring both its scientific and experiential aspects. In the episode "Mediumship Under the Microscope," the hosts examine the legitimacy of mediumship while acknowledging its controversial history, including instances of fraud. In a bonus episode featuring Laura Lynn Jackson, they frame her experiences as valid, highlighting the complexity of the topic.

Mediumship is the practice of purportedly mediating communication between familiar spirits or spirits of the dead and living human beings. Practitioners are known as "mediums" or "spirit mediums". There are different types of mediumship or spirit channelling, including séance tables, trance, and ouija. The practice is associated with spiritualism and spiritism. A similar New Age practice is known as channeling.
