old college professor

Type: Concept

As of November 2026, old college professor has been mentioned in one podcast episode on The Dr. John Delony Show (Feb 2026). The host uses 'old college professor' to describe himself and his wife, setting up the 'syllabus of you' metaphor for re-learning a partner.

Professor is an academic rank at universities and other post-secondary education and research institutions in most countries. Literally, professor derives from Latin as a 'person who professes'. Professors are usually experts in their field and teachers of the highest rank.
