What this episode is about

World leaders, particularly Prime Minister Carney of Canada, are distancing themselves from Donald Trump, criticizing his alignment with authoritarian regimes and asserting a new vision for global cooperation. This shift was showcased during Carney's impactful speech at Davos, which highlighted multilateralism in contrast to Trump's approach, leading to a perceived loss of credibility for the former U.S. president on the international stage.

Key takeaways

  • When world leaders unite against you, it's like being the last kid picked for dodgeball—awkward and telling.
  • Carney's speech in Davos? A diplomatic mic drop, exposing Trump's autocratic tendencies with Shakespearean elegance.
  • Trump's idea of peace? A gathering of dictators—like the Sinaloa Cartel hosting a recovery group. Irony loss!
  • Canada thrives not because of Uncle Sam, but because of strong Canadian values—take note, Mr. Trump.
  • When Greenland says 'not today,' it's a reminder: You can't just claim territories like they're free Wi-Fi.

Donald Trump is absolutely losing it as world leaders from democracies as former allies of the United States have stood strongly against the United States have stood on the side of Greenland and Denmark and Ukraine as Donald Trump has pursued alliances with Vladimir Putin and other authoritarians. Donald Trump's absolutely losing it as Prime Minister Carney of Canada has essentially asserted himself as the new leader of the free world. Prime Minister Carney brought the House down in Davos, Switzerland, giving a speech the day before Donald Trump's lunatic speech.

Prime Minister Carney gave a pitch perfect speech talking about the new world order, bringing uh countries together for cooperation, multilateralism in stark contrast to what the United States is doing. And Donald Trump was not able to handle that. He was the biggest loser of Davos and Prime Minister Carney was the biggest winner. Late last night, Donald Trump posted the following. Dear Prime Minister Carney, please let this letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada's joining what will be the most prestigious board of leaders ever assembled at any time. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, a letter via social media post. Guess what, Donald? Prime Minister Carney wants nothing to do with your excess of evil. I mean, as the Financial Times wrote, putting together a body of Kleptocrats and Putin puppet dictators and calling it the Board of Peace is like having the Sinaloa cartel running narcotics anonymous. Now, after Prime Minister Carney's incredible speech in Davos, Switzerland, he went back to Canada where he gave a speech in Quebec City. And one of the things that Donald Trump said during his lunatic ranting and raving speech were also we saw that Donald Trump's left hand was rotting away with bruises and discoloration.

Donald Trump said, "I want you to know, Carney, watch your mouth. Canada would not live if it wasn't for the United States of America. So when Prime Minister Carney went back to Canada, he gave this incredible speech in Quebec City and he directly addressed Donald Trump saying that and he goes, "No, Canada is strong because of our people, because of our values, because of our principles, not because of the United States of America." Watch this portion of Prime Minister Carney's incredible speech. Let's play it. When we live our values, we grow as individuals and we build as a people. When we're kind, kindness grows. When we're united, unity grows. When we're Canadian, inclusive, fair, ambitious, Canada grows.

Canada and the United States have built a remarkable partnership in the economy, in security, and in rich cultural exchange. But Canada doesn't live because of the United States. Canada thrives because we are Canadian news. And then there was more from Prime Minister Carney's speech right here where he further talked about uh the people of Canada and what makes Canada a truly great nation. Here, let's play this clip.

What makes Canada a great country? It's a great country for everyone. It's the greatest country in the world to be a regular person. You don't have to be born rich or to a landed family here. You don't have to be a certain color or worship a certain god. Canadians believe in the value of every other Canadian. their boundless potential to make this great country even better. Our ancestors, despite their differences, believed in each other and in us. Now, there are long periods of history where these values can prosper unchallenged.

Ours is not one of them. Our values must be fought for. That's what we are doing. That's what Canadians want. Canadians are up for it.

Now, we're hearing from other world leaders as well. As you'll recall, Donald Trump made up that he had a uh deal done with NATO regarding uh Greenland sovereignty and uh deal with Denmark and Greenland. But Denmark knew nothing about what Donald Trump was talking about. Greenland never did a deal with Donald Trump. Mark Rut of NATO, their secretary general, said, "We never discussed anything about Greenland sovereignty." But Donald Trump made an announcement via social media. We've made a historic deal with NATO regarding Greenland. And then the Trump regime started leaking to the press that uh the United States was going to be granted sovereignty over its military bases and that would be considered part of the United States and the relationship would be like the United Kingdom and Cyprus or something like that. And and Greenland and Denmark were like we never talked about any of that. This is all entirely

made up and we have our bright lines that we will not cross. So when it comes to sovereignty in our country, we're not giving our country up. So you had the premier of Greenland, Jensen Friedrich Nielsen, responding directly to Donald Trump talking about conquering Greenland and that they've made a deal. And Neielson's like, this is again the premier of Greenland. I have no clue what Donald Trump is talking about. And we have our bright lines. Let's play this clip.

First of all, nobody else than Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark have the mandate to uh to make deals or agreements about Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark without us. That's not going to happen. In terms of of the deal there's been talking about I don't know what's concrete in that deal either but I know that we have now a high level working group working on a solution for both parties. We have said from the from the beginning in Greenland we have some red lines. We cannot cross the red lines. We have to respect our territorial integrity. We have to respect international law sovereignty.

We are ready to cooperate more in economics in in other areas but that's something we have to talk about in mutual respect. uh in terms of wanting to own Greenland that your first question until yesterday we couldn't rule out anything as I hear it uh the will to to have Greenland to own Greenland was still uh was still a part of the rhetoric yesterday but as I said respectful dialogue through the right channels is what we have been seeking from the get-go and I also feel that's that's the intention now from from the other parties and that and I'm happy for that.

More from Neielson right here. Sovereignty is a red line. Uh national our integrity and our borders and international law is definitely definitely a red line that we don't want any anyone to cross and I don't think that is strange at all. Now, going back to what took place in Davo, Switzerland, you also had President Zalinski, the leader of Ukraine, giving an impassion speech. Um, and he was directly addressing Europe, and he's basically saying, "Look, Europe, look what look what Donald Trump is doing to Greenland." Okay? Donald Trump thinks you're all weak. Look what Donald Trump was saying he was going to do for the people of Iran and then didn't do. He said he was going to protect the protesters if the Ayatollah killed one protester. We know that Iran killed thousands. Look at how he betrayed the people of Iran. And Zalinski is like, "Look, it's good that you're sending, you know, some troops to Greenland, but

you each sending 50 troops, 100 troops, that's not going to send a powerful message." And one of the things that Zalinsky does is he uses kind of Trump's name and Putin's name interchangeably. And he's like, "Do you think that's going to scare Putin, but he's really talking about Putin and Trump?" So, watch what Zinsky does here during the speech that he gave uh at Davos. Let's play this clip.

Europe needs to know how to defend itself. And if you send 40 or 40 soldiers to Greenland, what is that for? What message does it send? What's the message to Putin to China? And even more importantly, what message does it send to Denmark? the most important your close ally. You either declare that European bases will protect the region from Russia and China and establish those bases or you risk not being taken seriously because or soldiers will not protect anything. And we know what to do if Russian warships are sailing freely around Greenland. Ukraine can help. We have the expertise and weapons to ensure not one of those ships remains. They can sink near Greenland just as they do near Crimea.

No problem. We have the tools and we have people for us. The sea is not the first line of defense. So we can take actions and we know how to fight there. If we were asked and if Ukraine were in NATO, but we are not, we will solve this problem with Russian ships. As for Iran, everyone is waiting to see what America will do. And the world offers nothing. Europe offers nothing and doesn't not want to enter this issue at the supporter of the Iranian people and the democracy they need. But when you refuse to help a people fighting for freedom, the consequences return and they are always negative. Belarus in 2020 is the example. No one helped their people and now Russian or ethnic missiles are deployed in Belarus within range of most European capitals.

That would not have happened if the Bellar Russian people had won in 2020. And we have told our European partners multiple times, act now. Act now against those missiles in Belarus. Missiles are never just decoration. But Europe still remains in Greenland mode. maybe someday someone will do something. and more for uh from President Zalinsky of Ukraine right here where he's even saying look and one of the things that he found deeply offensive is he's like in Europe while we're out here on the front lines basically protecting you as Ukraine has stood up against the Russian hordes as we've pushed back you're telling me over the past year that I'm not even allowed to bring up the topic of Tomahawk missiles and long range missiles because that could offend Donald Trump. Enough of that. We need to be strong together. Europe needs to stand together and we shouldn't say, "Oh, Zalinsky, don't talk about

tomahawks." We need to defend our people. And if you needed us, by the way, to help you out with Greenland, we can in Ukraine. We have those capabilities. Look at what we've been doing with the Russian ships. We know how to fight. So, step up. Get ready because we are in an age where there is great global stability and the war may be coming to you next. Here, play this clip.

Last year, most of the time was spent talking about long range weapons for Ukraine and everybody said that the solution was within within range. Now, no one is even talking about it. But Russian missiles and shahis are still here and we still have the coordinates of the factories where there are mate. Today they target Ukraine. Tomorrow it could be any NATO country. And here in Europe we are advised not to mention tomahawks. Not to mention tomahawks to the Americans. not to spoil the mood and we are told not to bring up Taurus missiles when the subject is Turkey diplomats say don't offend Greece when is Greece they say be careful with Turkey in Europe there are endless internal arguments and things left unsaid that stop Europe from uniting and speaking honestly ly enough to find real solutions. And too often Europeans turn against each other, leaders, parties, movements, and communities. Instead of

standing together to stop Russia, which brings the same destruction to everyone, instead of becoming a truly global power, Europe remains a beautiful but fragmented caloscope of small and middle powers. Instead of taking the lead in defending freedom worldwide, especially when America's focus shifts elsewhere, Europe looks lost trying to convince the US president to change. But he will not change. President Trump loves who he is and he says he loves Europe, but he will not listen to this kind of Europe. One of the biggest problems in today's Europe, though it's not often talked about is the mindset. Some European leaders are from Europe, but not always for Europe. And Europe still feels more like a geography, history, a tradition, not a real political force, not a great power.

Some Europeans are really strong. It's true, but many say we must stand strong. And they always want someone else to tell them how long they need to stand strong, preferably until the next election. But that's not how great power works to my mind. Leaders say we must defend European interests, but they hope someone else will do it for them. And speaking of values, they often mean valless. They are all like we need we need something to replace the old world order with. But where is the line of leaders who are ready to act?

I think it should also be noted that NATO's top general um Grankowitch uh for in Europe and and I've I've showed you clips of this guy before. He goes by the he goes by the call sign Grinch. Um and you know he's a top general in the United States military and now he's NATO's top commander for Europe. Even he admitted yesterday that he got no notice of any deal that Donald Trump did and he just learned about it on the news and he's the main NATO commander of that region. Here, play this clip.

We had no discussion uh about that security framework. We found out about it when everyone else did when it hit the news yesterday. So there was uh even though it's been reported elsewhere that we had some military discussion that that is not correct.

Now while you saw Prime Minister Carney's incredible speech, while you saw the premier of Greenland's powerful words, while you saw what Zalinsky said, Donald Trump was giving interviews yesterday with Maria Barta Romo of State Regime Media, which calls itself Fox. And Donald Trump was basically bashing all of his NATO all of former NATO allies. And Donald Trump said, "We never needed NATO and they would never be there for us. We never needed NATO." Donald Trump says, "Really? Because the only country that ever invoked Article 5 was the United States who needed NATO."

Okay? And NATO supported the United States in Iraq and in Afghanistan. And and if you you want to take a look at Afghanistan, the number of foreign soldiers killed in Afghanistan, just take a look. The UK lost 457 soldiers. Canada lost 159. France lost 90 soldiers. Germany lost 62. Italy lost 53. Poland 44. Denmark 43. Deaths per million 7.82 in Denmark, which had the most deaths per capita of any countries. Ne. UK was next 7.25. Australia lost 41 soldiers. Spain 35. All of NATO came to the United States defense. But here's what Donald Trump had to say. play this clip.

I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? And that's really the ultimate test. And I'm not sure of that. I know that we would have been there or we would be there, but will they be there? And let's hope that that never happens. We've never needed them. We have never really asked anything of them. You know, they'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan or this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back little off the front lines. But uh we uh we've been very good to Europe and to many other countries and you know now under my administration that began because we had a very successful first term that began then but uh it has to be a two-way street. Then Donald Trump was continuing to mock NATO yesterday into the evening hours. Donald Trump, while he was spiraling, said, "Maybe we should have put NATO to the test, invoked Article 5, and forced NATO to come here and protect our southern border from

further invasions of illegal immigrants, thus freeing up large numbers of border patrol agents for other tasks." That's what you're saying. You want to invoke article 5 of NATO to send NATO to do what ICE and Border Patrol are doing to torture the people of our country to terrorize people in our country and that's how you're treating NATO. Oh, maybe NATO should just I should have invoked Article 5 and they could go to Minneapolis and Minnesota. I mean, just what a despicable human being he is. Don't you think? I mean, absolutely. And by the way, yesterday after Trump left Davos, Switzerland, Jared Kushner and Steve Witoff headed off to Moscow. It's Witoff's seventh visit to Russia. As Kate from Carke explains, he's visited Ukraine exactly zero times. Back to Russia. Back to his daddy Putin right there. That's where Kushner and Witoff are going. Also yesterday, Jared Kushner presented what he was referring to as

his master plan for New Gaza. That's what they're calling it, the Ma of all things to name it. They're naming it the master plan for Gaza. And the slides included New Gaza and New Rafa. And it says how he and the other colonial powers or other people on the board of the authoritarians on the board of peace are going to go in there and turn uh and turn Gaza into like a a shopping mall or something or turn it into a development mall. Just a few other points I want to highlight for I mean under and by the way I know the world isn't paying attention to this or the United States isn't. I think the world is but the United States isn't. Um the uh there were three more journalists at least or multiple journalists killed in Gaza the other day, murdered in Gaza and innocent Palestinians continued to be killed every day uh by Netanyahu and by the Israeli army every day you hear more stories about that and it's important

that we don't forget about that and we report on it. Um to remind you what Donald Trump said about Canada, how Canada should be grateful to us, here's what he said. by its very nature uh going to be defending Canada. Canada gets a lot of freebies from us, by the way. They should be grateful also, but they're not. I watched your prime minister yesterday. He wasn't so grateful. They should be grateful to us. Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements. And I will also mention that Canada right now is still modeling its war plans of how it would uh attack the United States if the United States tried to invade Canada or invade a NATO ally. Canada preparing military models of what that would look like and you know whether there would be a conventional war, whether it would be a mujahedin style insurgency against the United States. These are all being kind of

mapped out as well. And then you see Donald Trump's authoritarian board, Bellarus and Usbekiststan, Bahrain, Qatar, Indonesia, Russia. Um, that's what the United States has been reduced to under Donald Trump. Thanks everybody for watching. Hit subscribe. Let's get to 6 million subscribers and we appreciate you.
