the player with the game ball for the Patriots is who we're going to TALK ABOUT FIRST. CJ STRAD had himself a bad game. I mean, uh, we'll start off by taking a look at this pick six that he threw to Marcus Jones. 10 to7 ball game. They're leading and and and it's just a back breaker for the Texans. It's just tough. And obviously a lot of pressure in his face and whatnot. Marcus Jones ends up returning it for a touchdown. Now, four interceptions on the day. I think he had three or four in the first half. We got four in the first half of the game. Fellas, we got to ask this question, though. Should CJ Strad be the Texans franchise quarterback moving forward?

I got some important information for y'all. There's no better place to win cash while watching sports than prize picks. Football season is here and basketball season is here, so there's absolutely no better time to join. It's super easy to use. To create a lineup, all you got to do select a few player stats, pick more or less. That's literally it. Prize Picks is available in more than 40 states, including California, Texas, my home state, and Georgia. But my favorite thing, Prize Picks is going to give you $50 in lineups. When you make your first $5 lineup, what's that mean? Win or lose, you get 50 bucks in lineups for free.

Just download the app and use promo code speak easy today. Five bucks gets you 50 bucks in lineups. Prize picks. It's good to be right. Shady, may I? It's your show.

What we witnessed today from CJ Strad was an abomination to the game of football. You realize CJ Strad had a 28 passer rating. Dang. You can spike the ball on every single snap and have a 39.6 passer rating. Nearly double the passer rating CJ Stout had by playing today. Houston Texans defense is a generational caliber defense and Straoud went out there and wasted it. This is no hyperbole. CJ Strad threw a ball so inaccurate that his player got injured trying to catch it.

Yeah, Cade Stove. That is how bad of a game CJ Strad played today. If you are a Texans fan, you have to question if CJ Strad has the ability to get it done long term. I love the players having his back. Will Anderson, you are a leader. Demo Ryan's coach, you are a leader. They stood 10 toes down and had CJ Strad's back. But if you were objectively analyzing the game, the only way the Texans lost today is if CJ Stra did what he did,

which is have so many turnovers that even this generational defense couldn't overcome. Your allp pro edge rushers gave you five sacks collectively, including three force fumbles, and you couldn't do nothing with that. You couldn't do NOTHING WITH THAT STRA. YOU WERE ACTING so careless with the ball like a middle schooler at recess JUST THROWING IT UP AND YELLING 500 STRA LIKE ALL YOU had to do was protect the most precious thing in the game of football, the football, and you didn't do it. So any criticism of CJ Strad today is earned. It's earned. And it's not hyperbole. I've already broken down the tape. When y'all are done with this show, I already broke down all the CJ Stout interceptions. I've already watched it. So many of them were careless. So many of them were careless.

Sometimes the pocket were clean. CJ Stout's tight ends are 6'4 and 6'5. They're fully extended and the ball's still high.

Like, let me stop before I say something reckless to him. He today had as many incompletions as Drake May had pass attempts.

Yeah, it was bad. Four interceptions. And the worst part is the defense plays so great.

Defense played so great where they were making all type of plays. It was one point where I'm like, damn, they got four turnovers and they're only up 11. That's how good the defense is. And I watch this game, man. I'm I'm'll be honest because I'm a big CJ Stout fan.

I don't know if he's the guy for the future because like his rookie year was phenomenal. I'm like, damn, this the worst he's going to look. He's got to get better. Then the next year, I'm like, okay, h not what not what I'm thinking. Okay. Then then this year, I don't know, man. You you you held them boys back. It's one thing to have a bad game. It's another thing, too. all his passes was laid

was behind defenders. I'm like, damn, are you you can't be this bad. He can't be this bad. So, there's something there. And I always said, you know, Ohio State quarterbacks never really do good in in the pros like they do in college. And I always thought that was different with CJ Stra. Now, I'm at the point where if the Texans going to go anywhere, it can't be with him because it's not just this game. Did y'all watch the Steelers game?

He didn't look good against the Steelers. I'm like, damn. like you trying to get his game up. He was so careless when you're in the playoffs, right? Everything, every small mistake is is is magnified, right? And now you get to a point where he was playing like it was a preseason game. Let me try this pass. Let me try that. Deo Ryan, he's doing so well with this team right now. And some of these picks, some of these passes, some of these decisions are terrible. CJ Stra, I'm not sure how far they can go with CJ Stra at quarterback.

I truly I truly believe that the hard part is this conversation because like Stra one he a good dude but we we keep it objective in the speak easy. He had a great rookie season.

Yeah. But like since that great rookie season it's just been downhill and De Mo Ryan's a faithful man on and off the field. It's like he's faithful and loyal to his players.

But there comes a point in time where that faithfulness might cost them. And the broadcast made a good point like Texans have tough decisions to make because CJ Stra 25 is fifth year option. You got to pick it up this offseason.

I ain't and how much is that? Probably 25 26 million. I'm not paying $26 million. Yo, it was some it was bad picks. High balls getting tipped. Yo, I remember the the I think the second pick he rolled out. I'm thinking all right, there's nobody open. There's defender come dirt the ball. Simple stuff you taught in high school

and you trying to make plays throwing picks. Yo, and then but the same thing is he looked the same way against the Steelers. [clears throat] Just that the Steelers defense is not as good as the Patriots in my opinion, right?

Yeah. I don't know, man. Like I if he'd have took care of the ball today, and let's say he didn't have a great day. They still haven't had a chance to win this game. He took this team totally out of the game.

Yeah. You get You get what I'm saying? Like if my office is playing bad, cool. It's going to be a nailbiter. But CJ Stout played so bad. He

he didn't give his team a chance to even come close to competing. You can't win like that. No, we showed the pick six earlier and and what what really threw me for a loop though was coming back out that very next drive with with eight minutes left in in that second and then going out here throwing a high ball that ends up getting tipped and intercepted again. like he just the time the the battle the field position battle was just completely lost and you and you ended up being down at halftime when you really didn't have to it like like you said those four interceptions were were just really

AND WHERE'S THE DOG AT LIKE JOSH ALLEN yesterday I mean he threw a lot of picks but you seen the dog COME OUT YOU SEE HIM TRYING TO FIGHT THE WIN I AIN'T SEEN NO FIGHT I AIN'T SEEN NO FIGHT SEE THAT STRAP I seen playing the game playing bad looking sorry sore for himself I got some mouth yeah another thing I don't like yo I hate a player that's moping around the GAME WHEN IT'S YOUR FAULT.

COACH, SOMETIMES NOT LIE NO WIDE RECEIVER sometimes do it, running backs do it, we ain't getting the ball. So that's kind of coach maybe the quarter QUARTERBACK WHEN YOU'RE THE QUARTERBACK AND THE BALL'S IN YOUR HANDS. WHY YOU MOPING? YOU THE ONE GETTING ON THE PICKS. I'M SITTING AROUND LOOKING AT HIM LIKE WHAT THE man is. It's a teammate. A real teammate. Go next. Hey man, step out of this.

Step out like a GIRL AND PLAY TOUGH. We need you. We sometimes that real quick sometimes in that game he was moping. and you're the problem.

Let me let me get this ooser with no emotion when I need you to show up. No emotion.

LIKE I WAS LITERALLY thinking like is it a California thing? You know the whole California cool NARRATIVE LIKE LIKE STRA LIKE SO I JUST WANTED TO SHAKE HIM. WAKE UP. PLEASE

WAKE UP. [screaming] LIKE STRA, YOUR SEASON IS hanging in the balance and Lord only knows if Denil Hunter's going to be back and Lord only knows if Aziz Zir is going to be healthy and Lord only knows if Stingley and Last and Peter are going to be healthy and Bulock is going to BE HEALTHY. LIKE GOD ONLY KNOWS IF WILL Anderson's going to be healthy again. Like we do not know if you will have this opportunity again. WAKE UP STRAOUD. LIKE SOMEBODY GIVE HIM SOME SMELLING SALTS. I ALSO THINK for you it's like having a defense as good as they are, brother. You were throwing

BLTs. YOU WERE THROWING HOT HAMS AND CHOP CHEESE IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT SECOND HALF. HERE'S MY THING. AND THEY STILL HAD YOU IN THE GAME because here's the other thing that really runs me hot. It runs me hot. Oh, we going to get to that, too. We going to get to Should Hey, ask the chat. I know you're working hard. Should they have benched CJ Stra? Ask the chat. I need those conversations. Tik Tok, too. SHOUT OUT TO THE TIK TOK FAMILY, TOO. ANYWAYS, LET ME COOK. LET ME COOK. WE HAD A GENERATIONAL defense hanging in the balance. But the only way you become a generational defense is if you win a Super Bowl. People

2013 Seahawks. Reason they're generational not cuz they was good, because they won a Super Bowl. You realize the Seahawks had number one defenses in 142 and 15.

But why do we say the 2013 Seahawks? because that's the Seahawks team that won the Super Bowl.

2015 Broncos, they won the Super Bowl. That 200 and maybe two Bucks team, they won the Super Bowl. That 2000 Ravens team, 2000, THEY WON A SUPER BOWL. This Texans defense is generational. But guess what? I won't say it. I can't. Now I just got to say, hey, they were an elite defense. Now I just have to say, hey, they were a really good defense. It was some It was a keep to TJ Ward. I think they were online talking about it like, "Hey bro, y'all's too quick to count them as generational. You can't call a defense that didn't get past the divisional round generational." I was going to tweet. I was like, "They're right.

I can't say anything about that." Yeah, but but come on, man. You Man, come on now. I hear that. But you watch these Texans, bro. That defense is scary. Who? I'm an offensive guy. Who want to play against them?

Nobody. You can't run. Nobody, right? The quarterback is uncomfortable the whole game. But real quick, I ain't talking about I'm talking about CJ right now. Another thing about CJ Sh I'm thinking about is man some players didn't have a great game today right like the running back I think Marks he he let he let one go he didn't really play bad but he played good

CJ yo I don't know if you noticed now he was the only person that looked so bad today

and it's like it's hard to encourage this one player cuz on offense we might have a bad offensive game maybe the passing game is not here THE QUARTERBACK NO IT WAS ONLY YOU

IT WAS ONLY HIM and my thing is how we gonna go forward with this you can't have these type of two performances

against the Steelers now against the Patriots and we move forward. Yeah. They got to bring somebody in there in camp to compete because there's no way that you can go with that.

Here's what I need y'all to see cuz Shay I I'm sorry. I'M GLAD Y'ALL ARE HERE and I'm sorry y'all are here cuz I hate having this conversation cuz I really do love CJ's.

Demo Ryan's at the presser. He said something today that I vehemently disagree with. Vehemently. He said, "Um, it's my fault. I got to be better." Demo. No the hell you don't. H. IT'S D'S FAULT. ONLY QUESTIONABLE THING Demiko Ryan did was punting the ball on fourth and 18.

But it wouldn't matter. They won't It won't matter. That's the only questionable thing Demo Ryan did THE WHOLE GAME. PLAY THE sound real quick so y'all can be as mad as I was.

Keep your head up. I love you. Like I got your back. And that's what I told him at halftime. This whole team has your back. Like we we're in this thing together from day one. Like it it doesn't change for me. like we have a really special group, a tight-knit group. You know, when things don't go your way, you have bad performances, it's not [clears throat] a a time to point fingers or say it's on one person. If anybody It's all It all starts with me.

Lie the head coach. That is a lie. That is not Demo Ryan's fault. It was one person's fault today and that is CJ Stra.

And you know what's crazy that but that's what coaches do though. That's what good coaches, head coaches do. I hear Andy Ree would say that. He says [clears throat] it's my fault. It starts with me. I'M LIKE, COACH, NO ONE THINK IT'S US. But the thing is, and that's cool, right? And after the game, you supposed to say that. I like I'm a good team. I would say the same thing. Quarterback looked terrible today. Yeah, we could have helped him out. We could have did better. Cool. After that's over, we shower up. We We go back to Houston, right? We may take a week or two

and then we have a meeting. You know, the GM, the owner, the head coach. We got to make some real decisions because we cannot go anywhere far if our quarterback is playing like that. And it's not this one game he played like that twice in a row. Another thing is now that dudes like Bo Nicks, who I thought CJ was better than, I don't know now, right? He's they're gonna get better in Denver with Shawn Payeyton. Now that guys like Drake May, well, he's already up for the MVP in his second year.

He's going to get better. AND PATRICK MAHOMES IS OUT THERE, DOG. He's rehabbing like, damn, I'm coming back from my throne. Lamar Jackson, I don't I don't know how how long you think the Ravens are going to be out the playoffs. You get what I'm saying? Joe Burl, if he can stay healthy and stay out the training room, they going to be back in the playoffs. There's a lot of teams that I forgot about Josh Allen, right? After they wipe them tears off in Buffalo, they going to be back to being a a contender. So, NAMING ALL THEM QUARTERBACKS, RIGHT? And our quarterback in Houston, we got this great defense, great running game, and he losing games.

Yeah, y'all got to think about that. No, I mean, they definitely do. And also, I think Shady, you brought it up, I think it was a week ago or two weeks ago, the the San Francisco 49ers defense, the year that they made the the Super Bowl, I think, or or it might have been the NFC Championship. You talked about how great that defense, how amazing that defense was. We couldn't even remember how good it was because they didn't go out there and win something. Like going out there and winning something is huge. We also got to hear from CJ Stra. This is this is uh sort of that demeanor that you were talking about, bro. I'll let you take

I look back at this season and just, you know, just once again just I can't just be anything but grateful for the teammates I have, the coaches that I have,

you know, this organizations, city of Houston, the fans. And I just um I look back and I just I I just feel like I let people down.

Pause. Pause. Pause. Sorry, Shady. Pause. Please bring up Josh Allen's clip from yesterday.

Because I'mma be honest. I want to see some tears. CJ Strad, you need to cry over that performance. Weep. Tears. Y'all remember that uh what was in the Bible? Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus starts sweating blood. Mhm.

I need to see some blood from some capillary. Was that blood? Jesus. He want to go to the cross. I need to SEE SOME BLOOD FROM SOME CAP.

WAIT. OH, he was he I know he was he was he was tripping like he was acting scary and all that, but he was he was he acting God. He like if you could any way you can chase this thing, please. I'm not trying to throw the crown thorns on. He like, "BRO, PLEASE PICK ANOTHER BROTHER. BUT IF I GOT HIM, DO IT. I'M GOING TO DO IT. BUT REAL QUICK, HE swing blood. Now you know I know the book.

He was he was sweating blood too. I know that. I need like I need to see this. Bring this up, bro. This what I need to see from Stra.

Let my [snorts] let my teammates down tonight. Pause. Pause. Pause. PAUSE. PAUSE. BRING ME BACK. Bring me back. Bring me back. That's what I need. [snorts]

One inhale. Yeah. One rough tough. Yeah. Just And a whimper. You just lost the girl of your dreams, bro.

I need an inhale and a whimper FROM YOU. STRAOUD, GO BACK TO the Straoud clip. I I need a

an inhale and a whimper. I NEED THAT COMBINATION. YOU WAS THROWING ALL THEM PICKS. YOU WAS GIVING ME PICK COMBINATIONS. I NEED A [snorts] I need that. Let not this.

I have, the coaches that I have, you know, this organizations, the city of Houston, the fans, and I just um I look back and I just I I just feel like I let people down and um you know, not not happy with that. And

um you know, it hurts. I think he's still seeing ghost from the football field. I think that might be what was going on.

But Shady, why you make that face though when I said he lost the girl of his dreams?

Yeah, I mean, you crying with that like he can't. But yo, but yo, real talk though, when when Josh Allen said it, his team teammate started crying like, "No, he ain't let us down." I know his teammates was like, "Yeah, yo, we appreciate that. We appreciate that." You know what I mean? Thanks for being real. Like, come on CJ.

I JUST SEEN BRYCE YOUNG like today uh what yesterday? Yeah. And we was talking. I was like, man, you know, good season, you know, build on it. You know what I'm saying? And he was like, you know, I got to get better. I got to

I need to say that for CJ, though. Yo, and I don't want to hear the words. I want to see it. I need to see it. It's also different, too, because you're not there without Josh Allen.

If you're the Bills players looking around. That's true, too. The Texans are like,

bro, we might have been able to win this with Davis Mills. Bro, you know how mad you have to be if you're a Texans defender. Will Anderson had three sacks and two forced fumbles. Denil Hunter had two sacks, all pros,

and a force fumble as well. They showed up, you feel me? Like they scored on like catches and all,

man. That's crazy. They showed up. Now, here's the other thing though, and this is where like now Demo where you do have to take ownership is all season you got to figure this out.

Got to. Cuz if I'm being honest, Bobby Slowick, offensive coordinator, De Mo's rookie year, that's the best offensive coordinator they had. brother.

They got rid of Bobby Sloic because like he wasn't doing enough. Yeah. Laramie Tonsel. They got rid of Laramie Tonsel because, you know, locker room and cap casualty, they needed some offensive line help. Offensive coordinator was in disarray the majority of the season. So, this is where defensive-minded head coaches, y'all got to figure out this offensive thing cuz I won't be surprised now if CJ Strowder was on his third offensive coordinator in four years.

Look, brother, listen. I I bring some in there. I'm thinking Malik um Willis. Oh, you replacing Stra.

Bro, this is the thing about football. Yo, the window was so small, right? I look at the Niners. That's a Niners and the Cowboys are my biggest example.

The Niners roster was so strong. I want to say was that 2022, 2023. Strong. I'm like, damn, they have a window to win the championship. Now look at them. Now look at them. Right. I don't think they're winning no championship no time soon. Okay. And let's go to the Cowboys. Yo, say what you want. The Eagles roster was crazy.

Yeah. the Niners and the Cowboys. They had all pros everywhere. I'm like, yo, I was nervous like, man, that window of championships, they might come back like the 90s and it's gone. And now they're not making the playoffs. I'm being serious. You look at the T or look at the um Tennessee Texans.

Houston Texans. Houston Texans. Thank you. The defense is so strong, the secondary, the corners, the DNS, RIGHT? EVENTUALLY, THEY GOT TO GET PAID and they not going to be able to keep them all.

Correct. Talk about then what happens? Yeah. Yeah, this this is really the window small. You got to go out there. You got to get the players right now to win,

guys. What happened? Five sacks, nine tackles for loss. Come on, man. Four forced fumbles.

Come on, dude. And you lost by double digits because even those four forced fumbles you have, your quarterback gave it up more than they did. Five turnovers for the Texans today. I mean, like,

dog, what what what can you do, man? What can you do? and and we will get to praising the Patriots momentarily. The reason I haven't started praising the Patriots is because when you go back and watch those picks, those were not miraculous interceptions. That's my

I watched all of them. But first, YOU THROW IT YOU THROWING IT TO HIM. EVERYTHING WAS LAYING BEHIND HIM. YO, ANOTHER THING IS YO, IT WAS SOME of that was so easy where he's maybe like 10 yards away and he's throwing behind. I'm like, and then Carlton Davis, right? I think he's a solid corner. I played with him in Buffalo or um um with the Bucks in Tampa Bay.

He'll just be catching picks. That's not what he do. AND EVEN THE ONES HE CAUGHT, HE WAS LIKE FUMBLING AND CATCHING IT.

YES. See that St. You That's You Man, that's a no no. I bet I see you in a club nowhere in LA.

Yeah. Ao, you know what's even worse? I'm just going to give a football in the middle. Just give a football in the middle of the club. Take that. Take that, dog.

Aro, you know what's even worse? What's up, yo? The Texans defense did not give up a single point after all of their turnovers.

That's true. They only gave up the Texans defense, bro. First interception, the Texas defense goes out there, they get a fumble. Second interception, uh, it's a pick six, so they didn't even get a chance to defend that one. The third interception, they get threeandout punt. FOURTH INTERCEPTION, THREEANDOUT PUNT. THEY DID NOT GET I'M SORRY, LATER IN THE GAME, FUMBLE. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE FUMBLE? Threeandout punt.

That's crazy. THE TEXANS DEFENSE DID NOT give up a single point after these turnovers. AND YOU WERE SO UNBEARABLY ass on the offensive side of the field that you couldn't make that work. That's a generational defense. That's a SPECIAL DEFENSE. THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST defenses we've seen in a decade. ONE OF THE BEST DEFENSES IN HISTORY

AT THE LEVEL that they were playing towards the end of the season. Here's the thing, dog.

Wait, hold up, sir. And it and it got so bad as I'm watching every pick the defense is running on the field. I'm like, damn, how they they must have knew when they got to like second down, they seen a drop back, they was grabbing their helmet, going on the FIELD CUZ THEY KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE A PICK, DOG. AND AND AND I'm being funny right there, but I'm being serious about with this one right here.

They was embracing it. I don't know if yall seen it or not. They pride, you know what I mean? Okay. Yeah. Well, we going to GET IT BACK.

YOU AIN'T SCORING PICK OR NOT. YOU AND YOU NEED A defense like that. My thing is, man, you can't go far with a team like that. You can't.

And here's the thing, though. You can lie to the media. You can lie to Texans fans. You can lie to the opponent. You can't lie to the players in the locker room.

What you think? Stingley, Lacer, Aziz, Bulock, Petri, Anderson, Hunter. What you think y'all saying? This blank sucks man.

Talking about Stra. No, that's exactly what they say. Every Thursday night, usually offense would go to their own offensive team dinner and defense, at least when I was in Philly, we all go all the team dinners. Defense all getting together.
