Reclip ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including projects created, features used, generation times, and export counts. This helps us improve the product.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details on our servers. We receive and store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Video URLs

When you submit a YouTube URL for processing, we store the URL, video metadata (title, channel, duration, thumbnail), and any available transcript data. We do not download or store the video file itself.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Service delivery: To process your video content, generate courses, lead magnets, landing pages, and email sequences
• AI processing: Video transcripts and metadata are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for content generation. Anthropic's data retention policies apply to API interactions
• Communication: To send transactional emails (via Resend) such as email sequences you generate
• Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our service
• Billing: To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Anthropic (Claude API): AI content generation — processes video transcripts
• Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management
• Resend: Email delivery for generated email sequences (Pro+ plans)
• YouTube: Video metadata and transcript retrieval via public APIs

4. Data Retention

Your account data and generated content are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (projects, generated content, settings) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Billing records may be retained as required by law.

5. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to maintain your authenticated session. When configured, we may also use Google Analytics 4 (with IP anonymization) for usage analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Export: Download all your generated content via our export features
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Correction: Update your account information at any time

These rights apply regardless of your location, consistent with GDPR and CCPA requirements.

7. Children's Privacy

Reclip is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us to have it removed.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including password hashing, session-based authentication, HTTPS encryption, and database access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
