As of November 2026, GPS has been mentioned in one podcast episode on CGP Grey (Apr 2025). In the episode "Runway Numbers Explained" on CGP Grey, the speaker discusses how GPS utilizes geographic north instead of magnetic north, contrasting it with traditional compass-based navigation systems. He highlights that every modern navigational system relies on GPS, illustrating its importance in accurately directing users, even to locations like the North Pole.

GPS uses geographic/true north and is contrasted with compass-based magnetic navigation; it’s proposed as a workaround where runway numbering uses true north.
