Welcome back everyone. We're here with actually in a live show answering your questions. Just only one qualification. Just make sure they're really easy questions and uh anything I say is not meant to diagnose or replace your medical care. Check with your doc before re doing any of the things that we're going to recommend. Uh so let's just dive right in and see how many questions we can get done today.

All right. Very good. I agree with you. And here's a simple one. Ricky D from YouTube, I think it is. How long should we be taking large doses of vitamin D, like 5,000 to 10,000 IU range, which is one of your pills?

You should probably just watch my latest video I did on vitamin D, because those are not large doses. Um, this whole dosage thing has been operating off of a a so-called error for years and they never corrected it. Um, and that and it 600 IUs, right? That's what's considered normal. So, when you're talking about 10,000 IUs or 5,000 IUs, it sounds like a lot, but you have to realize those units, international units, um, if you look at them in micrograms, it's a very, very tiny amount. So, there I did a whole video on this to explain it, but the point is that if you just take 10,000 IUs of vitamin D3 and relate that to sun exposure, you're talking about 20 minutes in the summer sun. 20 minutes. Is that a toxic dose? No. So that error 600 IUs uh if they ever corrected corrected it and this is just to maintain the minimum doses of vitamin D in the blood is 8 8,885 IU. So it's basically almost 9,000 IUs.

That's considered just normal maintenance. So you're so you want to take that on a daily basis simply because the halflife for the vitamin D for your immune system and other tissues is 24 hours. So unless you're getting sun exposure, which is hard to get in the winter, you want to take that on a regular basis. If you have any concern at all about that being high, then just you can always test your levels and you can also check your calcium in your blood and uh just to double check uh if everything's okay. But you want um minimally in your blood to be six uh 60 milligrams per deciliter. Okay. At the very minimum, you don't want like 20 or below like most people.

Yeah. It's funny. you know, 10 milligrams for this pill and suddenly 10,000. It's enough to throw anybody off, but it's so great that you explain it. Tell you what, doc, we've got

Yeah, we've got a full house of people. So, we're going to go right off to Diana, if I said that right. Um, and she is coming to us from Toronto. Go ahead with your quick question for Dr. Berg. Diana,

hello. It's Deanna. Oh gosh. So, I know. I'm sorry. So, um, I'm calling on behalf of somebody very close to me. So this person I'm calling on behalf of developed sarcoidosis about 10 to 15 years ago. Um they were treated with prennazone for over a year and although it's in remission now I believe they developed adrenal insufficiency because of it. About the same time they also had a case of laryngitis and then as a result of one of the two they developed chronic vocal issues and were told by ENTs that they either had vocal cord dysfunction or paralysis and likely due to the suppression of the leneal nerve. So my questions are is there any way to repair or improve the vocal cords to avoid invasive surgeries such as like a tracheotomy? Um as well as there any way to help regain their general health knowing that uh they have to limit vitamin D because of the sarcoidosis.

So you you brought up a really good point because I've been really pushing vitamin D. That's one condition you got to be careful of when you take too much vitamin D. So sarcidosis. Um, that being said, I think there's a lot of that could be done, a lot that could be done for inflammation, reducing inflammation, and I'm going to give you a couple things right now. Of course, you know, regular extra-virgin olive oil, uh, turmeric, um, basella, um, and also, uh, omega3 fats. I would really work hard on getting rid of the seed oils out of the diet, going low carb simply just to reduce the inflammation. Uh that being said, if we're dealing with like vocal cord issues, there's a great uh technique that can give the person a tremendous relief. Um and I actually you have to look up the video I did on horarsseness or I think it's laryngitis and you would uh and it's a basically a technique I used to do in my practice. I

had people from all over the world fly in opera singers and things related to the vocal cords and uh they would come in the office for a week and we would work on them and I show people how to do this. So that's one thing but I think it's all about reducing inflammation and reestablishing the immune system without uh adding too much vitamin D. You have to keep that under control because unfortunately uh since vitamin D is so important it with that condition it can you can easily get too much of it. So um selenium would be very very important.

Uh probably also um other things like adaptogens like uh ashwagandha for stress uh making sure the sleep is good going for long walks getting uh getting outside uh reducing stress as much as possible. And then also one last thing uh there's a product um from standard process called emplex emplex emplex I think it's called and don't quote me the exact spelling on that but it's something that has been uh I' I've used in practice and it's from standard process I don't promote those products I don't because I don't have a practice but that's something that they might want to take one before bed every night uh to to help um with that condition.

All right, Diana, I hope that helps. Thank you so much for joining us. And um let's move right on now uh to quiz question number one for the day. And there it is, Doc.

Okay. Why will just doing low carb diet not fix insulin resistance? Audience, climb on it. Let's go to ST7969 from YouTube. What are the best supplements for eye health? Well, to know that you have to know what the worst things are for eye health. Uh, and that would be staring at a computer for eight hours, which I know none of you have ever done. Um, and also the blue light and the LED light and artificial light, terrible for the eyes. And then is from a diet standpoint, you know, you have the the seed oils that can uh overtake some of the membranes u because they're fat soluble and start to get into uh the tissues and create more inflammation, oxidation. So, getting rid of that and then omega-3 fish oils like cod liver oil probably be the best thing for the eyes because it not only has omega-3 DHA which actually goes into the retina um but also vitamin D and vitamin A which are also good for the eye. Um

there's antioxidants lutin uh zeazanthin and lutein is also good for the eye. You can get that from egg yolks. So, these are things that I would um go back to a really healthy eating plan. Um, and just to kind of uh cross reference that, I want to just take the time now just to talk about um the new dietary guidelines. So, can I touch on that, Steve, right now? Is that okay?

Please. I saw something from, you know, go. Yeah. So, this is not just in the news, it is the news right now. It's like flip everything is flipped upside down and uh I I was I was I didn't know what to expect but I'm super happy and uh this is like going to be a huge change and of course the push back through certain dieticians and other people who you know that that industry is heavily funded by Pepsi Cola and the junk food industry. Um, and just the training alone, you know, the continue educational credits, there's just too much corporate interest that captured that whole industry.

You're seeing they're defending the old old dietary guidelines, which is so so bad. But this one is flipped upside down. So now all those grains and refined grains are at the very very bottom, which it used to be the foundation. Uh and then also uh they actually named out ultrarocessed food as the primary driver of 90% of chronic disease which is huge uh because and all these other dietary guidelines they never wanted to even come close to talking about that because you know the vested interests. So they finally came out and let the cat out of the bag and it's hard to put that back in there which is going to be quite interesting because ultrarocessed food is composed of industrial starch. Okay, maltodextrin food corn starch and food starch and other starches uh synthetic sugars and seed oils. Those three things. So what's going to happen now is um you know this all trickles down into different agencies, different policies,

the school system, the military, the nursing homes, which is going to be very very huge. Um but it uh if if you don't have it as kind of a policy coming from HHS, then it never trickles down. So just by targeting that and uh getting rid of that uh is going to be huge for the health of so many people. Um and uh so that's it's been really exciting. They also went up on the protein uh um which is so important as well because the [snorts] past recommendations were was the lowfat plant-based mantra. Uh, now it's um, you know, they're not restricting fat other than saturated fat, which I do have a a beef with that. Um, but other than that, everything else is I I really like everything else. And, um, so more protein, animal, red meat, they they didn't shy away from that. So, um, this is really really exciting. It's going to help a lot of people. And, um, they say eat real food. So, the next thing

they're going into, okay, is to define ultrarocessed food. And I hope in their process of doing that, they first define what food is. And they don't have to define it. All they have to do is get rid of the old outdated legal definition that was created in the 30s on food, which basically is some food is defined legally as some edible something. As long as it's labeled and packaged correctly, it's food. that has nothing to do with the biological definition which is that which is eaten to sustain life, prevent um provide uh growth and repair of tissues, nourishment, right? If they could just stick that definition in there, then it'd be very easy to contrast and say ultrarocessed food has to sustain life or help repair of the tissues. And if they can do that, then they can no longer call call this this these chemicals food anymore, which will be huge. So that's that's the simple way of doing it. So uh I'm having my fingers

crossed on that. Very very exciting. Let's go to BMAC 23 from Rumble. How would [clears throat] you read a HOMAIR fasting result? My glucose is at 96. My insulin is at 7.3. I know you would like it to be closer to 5.1. Uh I am on keto with intermittent fasting. Good for you. And walking. What other measures should I be taking? you're still within the normal range. So, I think you're good. Uh there's always, you know, you can always work over time. See, what happens when you have insulin resistance, it takes I'm going to be talking a little bit more about this in the next question that um that we're going to bring up. So, I inevitably someone like you has brought up something that answers next question, but insulin resistance doesn't go away overnight. You got to keep working at it over time. And I'm going to explain more on that when that question pops up. But um I think you're you're still in a good range right now.

So I think it's not a bad thing. Um but uh homo Iir is a test that you literally have to ask your doctors if they'll you're lucky they'll do it. But it measures information that will help you figure out if you have insulin resistance or not. So it sounds like you're in in a in a good range. It could always be a little bit better, but I would just um wait for the next answer to the question that I get into.

Very helpful. Very hopeful. Shelby from YouTube. What's the best way to get relief from constipation?

Constipation is usually uh some type of incomplete uh digestion somewhere. It could start in the stomach level where you don't have hydrochloric acid enough. So, you need to increase uh betane hydrochloride in as a supplement to help break down proteins. But it can also be a lack of bile uh to help you break down the fats. Um or the pancreas is just not putting out enough enzymes because maybe you had a history of eating too many refined foods like myself. So, um there's also the microbes um involved. So, you might need more probiotics to actually form a stool. I would the best way to uh fix constipation is to fix the diet in relationship to start putting a lot of attention on eating more fermented foods. Um and going on a low carb keto plan. Um but not to just load up with a lot of fiber. That that might actually make things worse. Uh, and then there's a lot of other details in this, so you should

watch my video because typically the problem with I have with the medical system is that they wait until you get constipation and then they treat the symptom. There's nothing focusing on correction. Here, take a laxative, you increase more fiber and call it a day. It's like, well, wait a sec. What's what's underneath it? You could be lacking B1. You could be lacking uh potassium. So watch my videos to get the root cause of that.

All right. Very good. Let's go to our next guest. Uh and this is Abdul from Saudi Arabia with one quick question for you. Go ahead Abdul.

So good evening. Good evening sir and very thankful for the opportunity for online with you and this is my first uh video chat with you and uh I'm very glad and thankful for this. I usually follow all your YouTube uh channel and I follow this uh diet regiment which you recommend and uh great thing that I most of my metabolic syndromes which is healed like pre p pre-diabetes uric acid and elevated uh lipid profiles and my liver function it is already improved and all my gastric issues like H pylor is reduced and now I I'm enjoying a normal life with this u intermittent fasting and ketogenic diet. But now I wanted to ask you nowadays I have some issue of my eyes and when I work on the computer for several hours blurred vision unless I switch over to another uh directions then my eyes will come na to see this. I mean I get the blood I vision. Can you suggest me something about this sir?

So yes that's a common problem. It's going to be more common simply because sitting in front of looking at a screen. There are um monitors that you should get and uh especially as we get older we need bigger monitors like a 32 or even a 36 in. Um, and then to make make the fonts bigger so you're not constantly straining. But the but there's certain uh anti- flickering and uh uh low blue light filters that you can get in the monitors. I highly recommend that. And uh but the other thing around the computer uh what you need is you need an you need a uh a full spectrum light and you have that in the morning to give your eyes more full spec more more full spectrum.

Now you live in Saudi Arabia, you have uh a lot more sun than most people. So I would take advantage in the morning for at least 40 minutes every morning. Get out there so your eye can get the sun. Don't look directly into the sun, but just be out there so the sun can get into the eye to start the circadian rhythm. The sun is very therapeutic to the eyes. Not directly, but indirectly from infrared to uh a lot of other things that the sun can give you. Uh that'll start to set the circadian waves and help your eye. Uh and then towards the evening, start doing the dimming.

Avoid blue light. Don't sit on the computer. Um but that those are things that are going to limit the eye. But think about this. You're sit and you're fixed in a certain distance from your computer for 8 hours a day. You're going to have to reverse that blow by spending at least an hour to a couple hours being outside looking far away in nature. Uh and that way it'll greatly help the strain on the eyes.

Abdul, thank you so much for that great question. Hope that helps. And Abdul, this is for you too. We are going to go to answering quiz question number one which asked of Abdul and everyone else why will just doing a low carb diet not fix insulin resistance. 78% of our respondents say that frequent eating can erase the benefits of low carb eating. 12% say it depends on the quality of the carbs and 10% say the body's need for carbs overrides your diet choice. Any winners today do?

Yeah, we do have a winner. Um there's two things that increase insulin. One is the carb. So here you're going to low carb and uh this this is something that came up before I even introduced intermittent fasting. I thought it was I didn't think anything of it at first and I was like that's not going to do anything. Just just going low carb. And well here's the thing that I didn't know. Every time you eat, no matter if it's healthy snacks, you are raising insulin just by the fact of eating. Okay. So, if you have three full meals with, you know, snacks in between and you're grazing, you never give the insulin a chance to go down regardless of what you eat. So, if you if you have insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, diabetes, you absolutely positively must do not just low carb, but also intermittent fasting. You can no longer graze. You can no longer snack between the meals. This is so important.

You should engrave that into your refrigerator. Um, [clears throat] so important uh to be able to correct insulin resistance. Now, if you're younger and you're not eating a lot of carbs and you have snacks, it's pro you it's probably going to reduce the the incident of insulin resistance. Um, but I'm talking about if you already have it and you want to correct it, you must not keep eating between meals and probably just do one or two meals a day.

All right, very good. Let's go to uh Eric from Rumble. Is there any information available on the efficacy of Moxa for arthritis relief? Also, can you explain the benefits of methylated supplements versus conventional? I don't I don't have enough data to tell you about the first question, but the second question, yeah, methylization. You have um there's two nutrients, B12 and um there's actually more than two, but B12 and folate, and you want to get those in the form of um that are already active like methylcobalamine and methylolate. Those two uh are needed for a lot of people because they genetically they have a problem with the inactive versions of that like folic acid or the other versions of B12 which are um cyanocobalamine. And so what happens is like um you can't really break those down.

You can't methylate those nutrients. So they build up and they can become a problem for you uh because you become deficient. Um, so [clears throat] I have a whole video on it. It is a bit confusing. You're going to have to just kind of start learning the the basics of that and start to uh learn the more complexities. But, you know, you can get a a simple uh DNA test to see if you have a problem with methylization methylation. So, because if you do, then um you're not going to be able to detoxify as well and you can't really make the neurotransmitters like you should. You might have mood disorders.

You could have problems with um cognitive function and many other issues. All right. Very good. Well, let's go to quiz question number two for the day. And there it is. Dr. Berg,

what electrolyte deficiency can trigger feeling dizzy and fainting when you start the ketogenic diet?

All right, good question. Let's go back to social media where oh gosh how do you Pantalikica I'm sorry sir how or ma'am however you pronounce that from YouTube how does HC acid and blue work together not to cancel each other out does that make sense

so you're saying um HCl like hy betain hydrochloride and then methylene blue is that what they're asking

I'm sorry HC bile let's see how does HC acid and bile okay excuse me bile so if you're taking uh purified bile salts and [clears throat] you're taking betane hydrochloride. This is a good question because uh the stomach is really acid and here you are taking a bile salt that's going to neutralize the acid. So to some degree it is and this is why I recommend taking the bile salt not at the same time. Take it after the meal. Take the hydrochloric acid or the betane hydrochloride before the meal. But some people that just take the bile salts um which is alkaline uh end up if they already have low stomach acid um they don't they don't get many results because you need both you need the acid and the bile to work uh I do have something called gallbladder formula and what I did in that formula is I put both betain hydrochloride and the bile salts So you kind of get a mixture of both. And that way when I did that I didn't I got a

better results because I satisfied the stomach's lack of uh betane hydrochloride and also the gallbladder at the same time. But if you're just taking bile salts directly, just take it at different times after the meal and take the acid before the meal.

Okay, here's an interesting one. I think Shashi01 from Rumble. What's the best way to bring down estrogen levels? Mine have spiked up a year after getting my gallbladder removed. What's the relationship between these two? Your gallbladder is the primary uh or bile is the primary mode of getting rid of excess estrogen and other hormones and cholesterol which actually make those hormones. So, I think you need to for this is a perfect example of you need more bile salts to be able to allow the normal detoxification um process of your estrogen. Now, there's a couple other little things in here that you should to help you control estrogen.

you want to um consume more cruciferous vegetables um that can help the liver because the liver is really the the hub of some of these like hormone buffers. So if you don't have a good functioning liver/gallbladder then you can't control some of these hormones as well like cortisol and estrogen. Uh so that being said, focus on the liver and support the gallbladder with bile salts.

All right. Very good. Now, let's go to our next guest and uh this is uh Caitlyn Jo joiners or Caitlyn uh and go ahead with your one quick question if you don't mind.

Hi Dr. Berg. Um the question thank you for all you do. First of all, the question is about my mother-in-law. She had ulcerative colitis since childhood and recently 2 three years ago, she had a gallbladder removal surgery which she was pressured into. And um lately, about starting about 3 4 weeks ago, she hasn't been able to retain any food. Everything goes right through her. and um she has been losing a lot of weight, a lot of blood and she has low energy. Uh we recommended her a carnivore diet which is a little hard for her. Um I was wondering if you have any suggestions specifically in her condition.

Yeah, I think it there sounds like there's some missing uh data. Like for example, um is there any sign of SIBO, small intestinal bacteria overgrowth? Is there um I would probably do a stool sample to see what's going on. It sounds like she's her microbial biome is off u because the food's going through her, she's not able to probably properly ferment. Uh, the fact that she had cost um um digestive inflam inflammation tells me that she probably would benefit from like a cabbage juice or even like a sauerkraut more than any other vegetable to help um help heal the gut. Um but I think she probably had um SIBO at one time. And then one thing that the the bile does normally is it actually kills off the microbes in the small intestine as it goes through there and then it gets reabsorbed and it comes back. So they took that out and now she might be severely missing the bile salt to kill those off. Now, that being said, when

you have the gallbladder out, sometimes now your liver is now just dumping a lot more um bile without it being regulated and then you get diarrhea. And so now she might have too much because it's unregulated. So, so what I'm saying is there's it's almost like you need to see a bit more what's happening, some functional tests to see what's happening with the amount of bile. You could probably test the bile in her stool and do that to really figure this out. U because I don't know if taking more bile is going to help it.

I think um really limiting um the food choices probably carnivore with uh maybe sauerkraut. I mean that keep it really small and just start to see what works and then what doesn't work and then you can kind of eliminate certain foods because um you know you're dealing with do we need to add more stomach acid? Do we need add more bile? Do we need to add more enzymes? Do we need to add more microbes? I would have to dissect this a little bit more to figure that out.

Well Katie, thank you so much for a great call. We appreciate you coming on with us. And let's move right along to Gracefully Yours from Rumble. Can you explain why my potassium levels are so low? I have no tumors and I use your electrolyte powder every 3 days. Thank you. Yeah, it's very rare for someone to have low potassium because most of the potassium is not in the blood, it's in the cell. So, there's something going on with this uh cortisol, a problem with cortisol adrenals can cause this potassium issue. There's other conditions.

I think I would need again more information to see there's something going on here that's creating this. Um because in the blood you only have like 1% of your potassium. So the body usually will pull it from the cells. um it would be ideal to measure your intracellular potassium but also it's a complex problem because it could be you need some other mineral to balance it out like sodium for example u but again I don't know I I would need more data to evaluate that you can't actually figure that out with just that small of information it's impossible I mean especially if you're taking potassium but you're low like there's there's a hole in the bucket here somewhere Wow. Well, good luck with that. Let's go to quiz question number two. We're going to answer it. And it asked to the audience, "What electrolytes, speaking of the devil, deficiency can trigger dizzy and fainting when starting a keto

diet?" And 45% of our respondents say it's potassium, 35% of them say it's magnesium, and 25% of them say it's sodium. All over there. Okay. So, what happens when you're on the keto is you're going to you're going to you're going to dump a lot of stored glycogen. In that glycogen, you have um [clears throat] potassium, but also you the first part of the keto plan, you notice that people lose a lot of fluid retention because the carbs retain the fluid. So what happens, the reason why they don't feel good sometimes and they get dizzy is because they just don't they can they no longer have the same volume of blood. They have a lower volume of blood. And if if you have not enough blood, you're going to feel just kind of like not as great. A very simple solution is to start to increase the salt, sea salts, just salt. Just start with salt and start getting more salt.

Not potassium yet, but salt. And [clears throat] because salt, not potassium, helps you retain fluid. So, you're instantly going to drink more and you're going to hold more fluid, getting more blood. You're going to feel better. Your brain's going to feel better. You're going to stand up and not get dizzy. And so you might just want to start, you know, sometimes like I will recommend uh for one of the meals they have those uh beef jerky with heavily salted. That's one way to get salt or just add more salt to your food. Uh but you have to get more salt.

The challenge with people that don't have enough salt and then they take more potassium is potassium will start to increase the need for more salt. So, they might not feel as great at first. So, you need both sodium and potassium. Um, and a lot of people are deficient in potassium, but with keto, you're going to get rid of fluid, and you will become suddenly deficient of sodium. So, the simple solution is to add more salt, drink a little more fluid, and you will feel better.

All right. Very good. Let's go to channel 4. Lynn from Rumble. Could your biotin conditioner be used safely as a facial cleanser? That's interesting. What do you think, Don?

Good question. I never thought about that. Um, why not? I I don't see any problem. Why not try it out? See what happens.

Good. Let us know. Okay, let's go to Paul Shikawa. Paul Shikawa from YouTube. Without access to purchase bourberine, would bitter melon and apple cider vinegar be as effective for a diabetic? I think it's I don't know if it's going to be as effective, but it'll definitely help because the bit uh bitter lemon has been known in apple cider vinegar has been known to help blood sugar. So, yeah, you're going to see uh some some nice changes. Try it out. Uh but um even more importantly, um go low carb and especially do intermittent fasting.

Very good. Let's go to quiz question number three for the day. There you go, Doc. Out of all the natural remedies, which one mimics the effects of ibuprofen the most?

Climb on it, audience. We really appreciate all your help with the show in that regard. Ruth from Rumble. I'm having a knee replacement. Ouch. Later this month. Which supplements and other measures should I take to optimize the healing process?

Vitamin D for sure. Before you go into the surgery. Okay. take probably at least 50,000 IUs as a oneshot deal right 3 days before the surgery the outcomes will be better um the [clears throat] other things to take is more magnesium uh zinc uh go low carb maybe even do some fasting that way you turn on all the different uh mechanisms to heal you better and then once you have that knee replacement you and put your knee in a a cold cold tub or just fill your tub up in with ice or not ice but just cold water and soak it or go outside and if you have some water sitting and if it's winter put it in ice and then maybe even heat back and forth to contrast it to push the fluid in and out. It's always great for um healing and circulation. Uh infrared is another thing you can get a pad infrared pad and start putting it on that as well for healing. Uh but also um as soon as you as soon as you can you start your

rehab and keep it moving, just keep it moving. Keep it moving. Uh but nowadays with knee replacements, it's amazing how much more advanced and successful the outcomes are than years back.

All right, that's very encouraging. Let's go to our last guest of the day. This is Peggy joining us with a quick question. Go ahead with your uh question, Peggy for Dr. Berg. Hello doctor. Um, I have a question about alternative solutions to synthetic drugs. I have a high TSH of 6.63. I was prescribed a couple years ago um 75 mcgs of levothyroxine. I know that selenium is helpful, but what else can I do to eliminate that uh levothyroxine ultimately? Is there anything?

Yeah, good question. because hypothyroid is one of the top things going on right now. Um, did you find also that any uh antibodies showed up as in Hashimoto's? Did that show up at all in any test?

No. No. Okay. Okay. Good. Uh, then what I would do is I would uh uh watch my latest video that I talked to. I interviewed a doctor on Hashimoto's because there's two types and there's so many things that can be done which are not necessarily just target just in the thyroid. It really has to do with your eating, uh, going on a low low carb, getting enough sleep, reducing stress, and also, uh, doing intermittent fasting, but not extreme, just kind of a, you know, a moderate type thing, um, versus I wouldn't do prolong fasting at this level. But I think, uh, selenium is one of the key, uh, nutrients in the conversion, but you also need zinc um, and probably a little bit of iodine as well. So if you took a trace mineral supplement that would help including magnesium as well. But that being said, there are doctors out there and naturopathic doctors that use armor thyroid which is better than the

synthetic and but they have to control it more which will give you not just T4 but you'll get T3, you'll get um calcetonin, you'll get other things that are not just in that synthetic version of T4. Uh, and then lastly, there's a great standard process supplement that I have recommended in the past. It's called thyotrofen PMG, and I've recommended that you take one before bed. It seems to just help the thyroid tremendously. Um, and so just do those things, see how you do, and then you come back in a month and let's reevaluate.

All right, Peggy, come on back with us. Thanks so much for a terrific uh call or video and we can't wait to hear back from you. Linda Joe from YouTube, how can I, excuse me, we get rid of acid reflux. Acid reflux is a problem with the valve on the top of the stomach. It's coming into the esophagus. So, it's really a valve problem. So, it's not about getting rid of the acid. It's about keeping that valve closed. And one way to do it is very counterintuitive is to take an acid. Yeah, that's right. Take an acid because that way uh the s sensor in that valve will close more with because it knows it's more acid. If it's too alkaline, the stomach is too alkaline, it'll stay open. So betane hydrochloride four or five before a meal is a great solution for that acid reflux until it goes away.

[snorts] Also, B, vitamin B1 helps valve issues, especially if you're a pre-diabetic or a diabetic that have something like autonomic uh dysfunction, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, which is uh your valves might not close. And so, people have problems with the the stomach and the bladder and all sorts of valvular issues. B1 is the solution for that. Uh, but I would start with that and watch my videos on acid reflux because it's actually a very easy problem to solve.

All right, that's encouraging. Dr. from Rumble, what are your thoughts on GMO wheats and grains? And would you advise ancestral grains bread for those on a low carb, but not eliminating bread altogether? So, ancestral grains. [snorts]

Well, it's definitely a step up, but it's not keto. It's not on the keto list. Now there is um like u fermented sourdough right well that's better that's a lot better um but I have done a video there the problem is um like the ancient grains are a lot better but it doesn't really kind of come out like the modern wheat and so people don't like it as much but they're better um but it's not 100% so if you were going to do some I would make your own bread out of some of the uh iicorn eorn flour again. It's more of a hassle, but I would not recommend even if it's organic modern wheat, because of the amopectin starch in there, which is like it's just like it's it's going to spike your blood sugars and it can also affect your gut because of the gluten even though it's um organic without the glyphosate.

All right, very good. Let's answer quiz question number three which asked of our wonderful audience out of all the natural remedies which one mimics the effects of ibuprofen. And let's see we have 55% of our respondents say it's willow bark 20% say it's uh curcumin or turmeric. I think I said both right. 15% say it's ginger and 10% say cod liver oil. Are they on to something?

Okay. Yes, we're on to something. So really simply and I'm I'm going to release a video on this. If we're dealing with pain, it's very confusing for people because you you see all these words like COX inhibitors and all these different symbols of these different pathways. Just think about like this. There are four main dials that control pain and inflammation in the body. Okay? Four main dials. Ibuprofen only focuses on the first one, the COX inhibitors, and it does it in a very strong way, but it does not address the other three dials.

Turmeric, but not the turmeric that you have in your spice, like more of a concentrated supplement. The curcumin in the turmeric, right? Concentrated. In in the study that I show people in this video, I'm going to release, 1,500 milligrams of that concentrated standardized curcumin or turmeric has a very similar effect to ibuprofen. And what's interesting, it's not as fast. It's not as powerful because it it doesn't turn it as hard, but it addresses three of those dials, not just one. Three of those dials. Extra uh virgin olive oil addresses one of those dials.

Omega-3 fatty acids and ginger address another dial. But the last dial out of all of these um which is kind of like a second back back uh backup inflammatory process that no drug touches and only one supplement that I know about which is basella. Uh if you added that with your turmeric, that would be a really good combination because the turmeric is the most powerful. But you add the B uh basella now you're dealing with u the full range of all four dials. Not as potent, but at least you'll start seeing in change over time. And then if you get rid of your insulin resistance and the seed oils and the junk foods, oh my gosh, you have a great plan to overcome this.

Terrific. Okay, audience, we'd love for you to overcome the answers to quiz question number four. There it is. Doc,

what is the most powerful trace mineral for detoxification? All right, folks. Climb on that as we know you will. And let's go back to social media where Lily Rose from YouTube asks, "I've been having gallbladder." Here we go again. Pain for about a week now. I'm on the fence about removing it, poor thing. What should I be doing next to stop the pain?

So, the big question is, do you have a massive stone there that's just going beyond dissolving it, in which case you might want to just check for the option of removing the stone, not the gallbladder. They also have lipotry that they can break up with sound waves uh like uh on on your gallbladder. If that's one option, you really want to work hard at saving the gallbladder. I don't buy this. Oh, you don't really need it. You're going to do fine. Really, take a look online of how many complications that are people are complaining about after they have had the gallbladder out. It's just it's very it's huge. I think it's like 600,000 gallbladders removed a year. But, um, a couple things you might want to try.

start taking a bile salt supplement to help dissolve it. But in addition to that, you may also have a lot of discomfort from the bile sludge that hasn't turned into a stone yet, but it's kind of stuck in your bile duct. And that's probably what you're feeling. in which case you take Toddka on an empty stomach two in the morning, two in the afternoon and uh that will actually help thin the bile, prevent a stone and make you feel so much better. So those are things that if you haven't done those, I would definitely do those. Now, some people are going to say to avoid fats. Uh I wouldn't avoid them completely, but realize fat um causes a contraction of the gallbladder. So if there's some type of clogging of your bile ducts or and you add more fat, it can cause more pain and refer to the right shoulder. So So in that situation, you know, I think uh I would really you can balance out the amount of fats you consumed, probably

not go crazy with a lot of fats, but you do need some fat to be able to release the bile and get it to contract into your small intestine. So, this and this is why people um are on a low-fat diet have a higher risk of getting gallstones because they you need um you need fat to get your gallbladder to work and bile to be produced. Uh bile is made from cholesterol, by the way. And so, if someone's on a statin, a lot of times they're not going to have enough bile production. So, anyway, it's a lot of the counterintuitive things there. Uh but I think I should stop right now, Steve, because I just gave a lecture on it.

That's all right. That's what people are here for. Let's go to ACZM from YouTube. I need help with mental fatigue. Join the club. What's the best way to fix this horrible mental fatigue? So, [clears throat] you know, of course, the obvious one is to get more sleep. And so, if you get up, you have to urinate in the morning, go back in the bed and try to get another hour or two of sleep. That's going to help you. Um when you have this cognitive focusing power all day whether you're in a computer or you're solving problems that is um that definitely is taxing.

It's very taxing. And so you don't want to just do that straight. You want to take breaks. You want to not think so much. One of the great remedies is a natural B1 for your cognitive function. Uh so you take some B1 through the day and you can kind of restore that cognitive function. that you're producing a lot of um or you're using a lot of energy when you're using cognitive power. So um you know go out and reverse it into doing things that are not thinking activities like walking through nature, letting it in, um looking at things, observing. Like I think the best thing you could possibly do in the world is bird watching because you're not analyzing. you just like you're in this amazement of like wow look at that look at that amazing bird or something that doesn't involve so much thinking. So I think um thinking is overrated. I think we do too much thinking. Um if you could take some time

and just turn it off for a while um that would be a positive thing. I agree. Carrie Dad from YouTube. What's the best remedy for bad breath? That is an awful thing. Well, I think this is a microbiome problem and it can actually it's not just in your mouth, it's in the whole body. So, consuming more fermented foods. Um, lately I've been doing like Bubbies brand pickles and sauerkraut cuz I it's in the refrigerator section. So, you have these great probiotics and I will drink the fluid as well in there. Just drink like a half a cup of that. That's a really good probiotic. And then, of course, eat the sauerkraut and the pickles like almost every meal.

So that's that way you're getting these fermented foods. Uh cheese for example. Um fer like if you had more uh European cheeses that are more like better than American cheese. It's fermented. It's a good fermented product. Kefir is really really important. Uh maybe certain Bulgarian yogurt is important. Um so we want to start to focus on our microbiome and um even in the uh in the morning if you put in your coffee if you put a little cacao um that those polyphenols feed your microbes. So chances are you've had history of antibiotics that now you have to get those microbes back.

And there's many different ways. I have a video on the eluterai yogurt. You should be making that on a day and taking it on a daily basis as well.

All right. Very good. Here's an interesting question. I only ate from YouTube. Can I take vitamin D and magnesium at the same time or will they not be absorbed optimally? Optimally. Also, is it true that after cooking rice or potatoes and letting them cool, say, in the refrigerator, their starch becomes, I guess, less active or resistant?

So, start start in the beginning. You said mentioned YouTube. something that you ate YouTube. What was that?

Oh, I only I only ate the number eight from YouTube is the handle. The strange one.

Oh, okay. That's their handle. Okay. I wasn't sure. That's right. Let me from YouTube.

Yeah. And can I take vitamin D magnesium at the same time? Will they not be absorbed? Also, is it true that after cooking rice or potatoes and you let them cool in the refrigerator, their starch becomes, I guess, less starchy or something?

Well, you definitely don't want to eat YouTube. Number one. Number two, yes, you can take those minerals together. Uh, not a problem. They won't interfere. And, uh, this whole concept that you can take these starches like your potato and put them in the refrigerator and cool them down and now you suddenly got rid of the starch and you can eat them is total BS. Do you think cooling down a starch somehow gets rid of that starch? Think about what a starch is. Okay, we got starch is a string of sugar molecules, right? And so if you have an industrial starch, it's been highly processed.

You're dealing with uh stuff that can break down the sugar almost instantly. But a potato, it's still cooked and it's still broken down. And so by cooling it, it doesn't get rid of that that sugar chain. It doesn't it's not going to help your blood sugars when you eat it. Uh it's it's I mean do an experiment, okay? Do it get a continuous blood sugar monitor and start eating the the uh potato and then compare it to a cool down potato and see if there's any difference. Then you'll know for sure.

Yeah, that sounds a little overly hopeful, I guess. But anyway, why don't we now go to quiz question number four to answer it? And it asked to the audience, what is the most powerful trace mineral for detox? And 58% of respondents say it's zinc, 20% say it's selenium, 12% say it's uh molly denim, and 10% say it's copper. Malibin, did I say that right? Malibdamin, excuse me.

Yeah, thank you. Um, okay. So, what happens? The most important antioxidant inside the cell intracellular is glutathione. Glutathione not just in your liver but all cells. and it supports the mitochondria as well. Um, this is something that detoxify um plastic uh residues, forever chemicals to a certain degree. Um, heavy metals, country western, no. Um, you have uh also pesticides, insecticides, herbicides fungicides alcohol. You need glutathione. The most important trace mineral to build glutathione is selenium. Selenium. So if you don't have enough selenium, it's going to be really hard to make if not impossible glutathione.

Now you also need glycine which is something else. But uh selenium is that a super important trace mineral for conversion of your thyroid for your immune system but also to build up glutathione. Super important. And the problem is getting it. How do you get it? Well, two Brazil nuts will give it to you or shellfish, but other than that, it's like it's in certain foods, but um a lot of people are deficient in in selenium and then they don't they can't detoxify like they should.

All right, very good. I'm going to uh ask or excuse me, I'm going to yes, ask the last quiz question of the day, which is how does bloating cause gut inflammation? So, that was for you to read, but there you go. And let's go straight to uh Stacy from YouTube. My doctor says not to fast beyond 24 hours. What say you? What say you? I would say um why why uh and then see what they say because they obviously don't understand um the survival benefits. They haven't looked into the research. Um and so bas again the conventional doctors don't have training on nutrition, food therapy, uh lifestyle factors, they're experts at medication and managing your symptoms, but as far as the training and lifestyle factors and fasting and all these other things, why in the million years would you ever even get their opinion if they don't have any training in it? It's like asking your neighbor like, "What should

I eat?" Like, well, they might or they might give you some great information, but they might not. So, um, just don't assume that's be because someone's a medical doctor, they know about natural things or alternative things. All right, let's see. Let's go to Inner Harbor 600 from YouTube. Is there any alternative way to avoid surgery and heal a torn meniscus with a bucket handle flap? I don't know. I don't know. But I think there's some areas to investigate. Um, stem cell therapy is something that has been known to potentially help prevent a surgery depending on how big the tear is. Um, but that's what I would look at.

Um, it all depends on, you know, how how bad it is. Um, minor minor tears can be repaired, but again, it's you got to get all you got to get more data on this.

All right, very good. Let's go over to Fan from Rumble. How do you accelerate healing from bruises? Could turmeric or nepronol hinder the healing process? [snorts] Well, uh, if you're trying to in get rid of bruises, then uh you need more things like vitamin K. Um, what about arugula salad that that would give you or some leafy green? Um, [clears throat] that can help with vitamin K K1 to help with the clotting factors. Uh, versus things that thin the blood um like cumidin and um certain medications. So, even like natural things can thin the blood as well. So, if you're actually trying to get rid of bruising, uh, you want to take vitamin K1 in vegetables.

All right, very good. Here's an interesting question. Osama from YouTube. Why is my face yellow? Or I guess jaundice despite having normal test results for liver enzymes and my blood count. What's going on with Osama?

Yeah, you can't always tell um by a blood test. So, you got to look at other things like what's your history? Um, have you been eating really healthy and you're still yellow? Uh, are you eating a lot of carrots? Uh, is there something that could be creating this pigment in your skin? Uh, but typically if you have jaundice, um, there's other tests, deeper tests that you can do to pick this up. But the the biggest one is like what's your history? Are you doing anything to the liver that could have created this? Um and then again like when you evaluate these things um like it's almost like you can't evaluate unless you get a lot more information.

So this is why you don't want to just jump to conclusion and think it's like one thing when it can be something else.

Okay. Very good. Let's go to Jules from YouTube. What are your thoughts on the benefits of taking reversterol? Reverol Reserl reserl. Okay. Uh reseratl um that is a a great great remedy for anti-aging. Um there's a lot of research on it. Um you know, I mean the thing is that it's expensive and uh maybe I would recommend it if you're doing everything else right. Uh I am going to be releasing more videos on kind of a this ancestral mismatch thing where taking uh all the things that our bodies were um as far as environmental, right? Uh having this ideal map of an environment that aligns with our biology and then comparing that to the modern day so people can kind of see what exactly they need to focus on.

Because if you're just doing an average diet or these other things and you're not sleeping and you take this natural remedy to help you live longer, it's just like expensive urine. So, I'm really into kind of building the foundation and then showing people how to get to an ideal environment where they their bodies can thrive so much better. And then adding something like that could be beneficial if you're doing these other things correct. Also, uh there's other things that will make uh move the dial more like a little bit more sleep can be huge in handling blood sugar issues and lowering stress than supplements. Uh so these are these are just things I want to get into more and show people uh more on those things.

Wonderful. Well, doc, we've had so many guests and wonderfully busy show that we've eaten up the clock. So, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind answering the final question uh for the audience. Yeah. How does bloating cause gut inflammation? Bloating distends like a balloon your small intestine. And what happens is then the cells, it's a single cell layer starts opening up and this is where you get leaky gut and then stuff can go through and then you get this immune reaction inflammation. So when you're getting bloating, you're getting inflammation too and that's going to create a problem. So, it's very important to get rid of bloating, okay?

And figure out what that is. I have a lot of videos on it. Watch those videos. Uh you what diet should you be on? A diet that doesn't give you bloating and versus like, oh, I was told I need this this much fiber. Really? You killing your stomach, right? Or I need these keto treats filled with sugar alcohols that are bloating me like crazy. Well, it's not good for you. So, don't eat them. Okay? So on that note, have a wonderful weekend. I will see you next week, same time.
