deadlift day back here doing sumos with my son and we're wearing the same uniform looking good son he's warming up yeah thank you man he's warming up we're doing triples today following percentages he's going to hit this up while I warm up and prepare for my set but we got to make sure that my boy's doing it right let's do it Ben let's see what you look like oh y nice wide base looking strong strong back let's go
nice good make sure you're pushing evenly through both feet yeah nice yeah sometimes Benjamin has a tendency to shift I don't know if you even feel it buddy but sometimes you shift like this he comes out and shifts this way you shift that way that's because you injured that life yeah this one yeah crazy how an injury from 2 years old yeah 2 years old still kind of shows itself don't get injured guys especially when you're young or old don't get injured follows you for a long time time all right but we're working out we've been working on it and it's gotten a hell of a lot better Ben's doing really well um but hey it takes time we got all the time in the world though so a little bit later in the day so the sun's here and uh you know it turns out I'm not actually doing Sumo it's a little different it's more like a Ukrainian deadlift uh I don't know why they call it a Ukrainian deadlift but somebody who
showed it to me called the Ukrainian deadlift I don't think Voldemort what's that guy's name the guy that got a shouting match with Donald Trump I don't think he I don't think he lifs I don't think he does this but you get to see how I do it without cutting my head off let's see valinski zalinski all right so what makes it a little bit more Ukrainian I guess you could say is that it's wide base but I don't do the toes out I keep my toes forward and then I spread from here and then the key for me is keeping the butt tucked under round back boom squeeze the butt at the top Nutcracker
nice good first working set yep nice good job m good evenly to both feet buddy there you go push through that left foot nice working out your body work eyes all right let's have hope like Obama all right good you got got five for sure keep your form tight push through both legs long arms strong buddy you got this
nice yeah looking strong nice work yeah five was easy yeah you could have probably done 10 maybe maybe good yeah so this is a lot different than the type of deadlifts I used to do the way I was deadlifting before in the past the way I've taught you in the past not that there's anything wrong with it um just doesn't work for me as much anymore but it was more like an Olympic lifting style deadlift like what you would do if you're going to do a Power Clean where um this here is closer to a Sumo type deadlift um also I used to teach like flat back use your like keep your back flat for a lot of people they need to flatten that back they need to hyperextend cuz they're you know um kyotic but I have the ACT actual opposite problem I'm lordotic so I got I actually round my back and I got to tell you when I round my back I actually feel stronger I know there a whole lot of people out there don't round your back don't around your
back I'm not I don't have any Dogma I don't have any Fitness Dogma I do what works for when you need it to work right now round back works for me so let's see this is my uh first working set I'm I'm going to lift up to little over 2 350 maybe let's see
oh belt I think I'm going to stick without the belt let's see how far I go out the belt I don't need it as much with Sumo deadlift I don't feel like I need the belt so much because there's more my center of gravity is over my base of support but when you actually hinge that's when the core becomes a limiting factor so we'll see all right boring set it's all right maybe we'll use
it for ni right all right my turn nice so for I got boogers sometimes I got boogers um so for this last set I'm going to wear my belt why because I feel like I'm overusing my obliques overusing my obliques and my rib my rib cage does it even make sense like this almost like the diaphragm muscles right under here I overuse it it makes me have a hard time breathing so a lot of times like after deadlifts like I I have to do like a lot of breathing exercises but if I wear the belt it'll calm down these muscles it'll kind of like cinch them in and so um I'm going to I'm going to wear a belt putting on the Belt
all right Remy what Remy you turn your back to me again turn my back on you you don't put me in the videos Remy I'm sorry sorry REM Remy boy sorry you're not in the videos more you don't have to turn your back on me and be sour it's going to be okay get the tail going he knows it's all right you know it's all love right Ram right Ram yeah that's how he talks I make sure all the gas is out so I poop myself let's go in the video y
a nice backwards all right we're going to go we're going to go one at a time I'll go you want to go first or do you want me to go I can go first all right cool let me take this off good that's it pick up your
knees how do that feel you all right yeah my hips are stiff I haven't been doing my morning mobilization I feel it and my warm up was a little shoty today I feel it you should probably spend the day stretching tomorrow spend more time stretching oh both sides all right
all right actually felt pretty good pick up those feet nice what's up it's about 50 60 ft let's measure start here two three six 3 4 so about probably 55 ft estimate good nice nice got it buddy way to go oh man whoop whoop control
it nice work all your hands okay yeah oh man that means I got to do it callus is are ripping off yeah all right let me see oh wow hang on oh they are yeah oh congratulations look at mine mine aren't as bad right now anyway
I just vomited a little bit in my throat sour hot sauce all right get back here we go a all right all right we'll do split squats and hanging knee raise taking Liber a excuse me ah ah hurry up that was 10 as many as you want think that's good or mhm that's good right come back and do another 10 though
oh I still have a minute on the next set what cool all right good job today me too
