0:00 hey guys it's Emma today I'm going to be doing a thrift haul yeah so this is my second Thrift haul I'm going to be showing you a little Coachella haul so let's just do another haul growing up I had a normal amount of clothing most parents are not funding an experimental wardrobe but I dreamed of having a closet packed with clothes and so the second I started making my own money I started buying clothes I found this one online for really cheap on a weird website so it's probably fake like a lot of clothes I couldn't control myself I've probably bought thousands of articles of clothing I really thought that having a closet full of clothes could bring me joy would inspire me I thought I would be infinitely more fashionable and stylish I could not have been more wrong actually and then I'd have a Moment of clarity I'm literally getting rid of half of my closet I'm getting rid of this I'm getting rid of

1:48 like I look good I want to be physically comfortable and I want to exude a certain Vibe accomplishing all three when you have a closet filled to the brim with clothing is really challenging because you're experimenting every day when I went in my closet to get dressed I was experimenting and it just it wasn't working what did we learn from this Emma needs to stop shopping I need to clean up my closet maybe I'll do that today not only did I have irrational emotional attachments to many items in my closet but I also had this naive optimism that one day the pieces of clothing in my closet that I don't wear would come in handy I kept anything that remotely had potential but 2 or 3 months ago I went into my Clos it to do my routine Purge and the goal was the same as it's always been narrow it down to stuff that I truly wear I've gone in with that goal attempted it and failed many times but this last

2:44 time it actually worked I actually did it I actually brought someone into my closet with me because clearly doing it alone wasn't working and I told them to be honest with me tell me when something's ugly remind me that I never wear that piece of clothing be honest with me over the course of probably 72 hours I managed to get rid of I mean probably 95% of what was in my closet I got rid of stuff that was too loud and too flashy anything that I'd probably only ever wear once because it's so loud it's such a statement piece I got rid of stuff that was too trendy I got rid of stuff that I really like but doesn't fit me right I got rid of stuff that I haven't worn since I was a teenager Maybe I was just keeping it because it held some sort of sentimental value I only kept stuff that I'd truly truly be sad to lose I only kept stuff that I'd actually notice if it was gone I was left with sort of a capsule
