having a tough time um former Collegiate athlete played at a high level on scholarship dealt with concussions and caused me to retire my junior year this led me into a spiral of addiction and extreme discontentment in my life struggled with drugs painkillers for about five years until two years ago I with the help of my family was checked into rehab finally started the Journey of learning to engage with my deeper pain so interested to hear about that from it came a message I want to help people feel again a year ago I decided to start posting and really the rest is history growth has been so fast that I'm just now working on projects businesses a lot of cool stuff coming but as of now I have a creative house production company that helps clients brands that also have a message bring it to life in a way that communicate organically pure marketing to the masses this man has built an incredible Community online
check it out on IG JB Copeland has literally amassed over 1.3 million followers in a year I've never heard of anything like it before JB thank you so much for being here thank you and Heather I have zero clue what I'm talking about and so that's that's how I feel I uh you know I I see other people online and I'm like they they have it all together um and I'm like what am I supposed to do here and so yeah I don't know I my bio is I'm still figuring it out and I might have it I might have it all wrong um and so yeah I'm so excited to be on the show and excited to get open and vable with you and answer whatever questions you might have Okay so let's take it back I love to hear the backstory and the come up because it sounds like on the outside looking in I bet a lot of people thought you had this thing on LOF when you're a high level athlete it looks like you're killing it take us back to that time yeah so
um really I was a late bloomer in high school but and so sophomore year I was on JB I was on jb2 um I grew up in Texas South Lake Texas to be exact and it's a Texas is a huge football state and so um from from sophomore to junior year I I grew um from like 5'8 to 63 and was you know turned into the starting linebacker my junior year you're giving so many men hope right now let's go hey there's always room for growth I'm a late bloomer I'm I'm a late I'm Still A Late Bloomer I feel like I'm still blooming I don't know I think we're always blooming but um yeah and and ended up having a great junior year and then my senior year uh was the team captain was one of the team captains and um was getting a lot of looks from colleges and and scholarships coming in and the fourth game of the season I tore my ACL and just completely devastated and that was when that was when uh I didn't know how to engage with pain I didn't know how to
engage with missteps and and and things like this and and numbing and and the pressures of life and so that's when I really started to you know delve into a bit of drug use at that time um within that though I had one scholarship offer to New Mexico State University uh that said we'll stand by you I understand you just you know tore your your knee all the other offers were pulled from the table and uh at that time New Mexico state was the worst division one football school in America they hadn't won had a they hadn't had a winning season since like the 1960s and um I was like screw it I'm gonna I'm gonna go and so I went from my first semester I you know I rehab my knee ended up playing a lot that year and we went and played LSU U which is a big SEC school out of Baton Rouge and as a freshman I had a I had an amazing game and you know 10 12 tackles a sack or two and it I was like I'm not staying at
this school like I'm I'm transferring and I'm going to transfer to like my my dream has always been to play at a power five school which is at that time it was you know the ACC the SEC the Big 10 the big or the Big 12 pack 12 and now everything's changed with everything all the new rules and everything but so I I went to Junior College after my first semester at New Mexico State I went to Navaro junior college and people have heard of Navaro because of their cheer program I don't know if you anyone seen novaro cheer on Netflix they're they're national champions like every single year and so but they also are really good at football and so I I ended up going on scholarship to Navaro it was in the middle of nowhere in somewhere Texas and uh I was there for a year from January to December well uh the drug use even picked up more my my athletic ability and my ability to play the position I was I was really
really good um but mentally and emotionally I was very insecure um I didn't understand my value I didn't understand um I didn't understand still all this pain that was even deeper than an ACL Terror a lot of it came from childhood and we can get into that but um had the best year of football in my life like Leed led the nation in tackles in junior college and from there North Carolina uh the tar Hills reached out and offered me a scholarship and so I I went to UNCC um that January so it's the January of my sophomore year and really that even before I started the season that coming season things started to fall apart personally it was like this very subconscious like self-sabotage um you know a few weeks in I I couldn't stop smoking weed because because I couldn't stop numbing and I failed a drug test and at that time marijuana was you know they were testing for that they're not testing for that
anymore but I I failed a test for weed usage which wasn't a big deal but it it did put me uh in a place to where if I failed again I would be suspended and if I failed another time I would be kicked off scholarship so and then a few weeks after that I I was at a frat party and I punched someone in the face um and and broke someone's jaw and so uh it like bad thing after bad thing kept happening and and um like I said I was very very insecure and and my insecurity didn't come out in anger even though I did I did get in a fight but it came out with extreme anxiety and and I was shy um wasn't well with making friends uh just was not in a was not in a good place I look back and just think of how uncomfortable and how restless and how discontent I did feel in life well the the season comes around and I'm I'm splitting time with a guy it was me versus him kind of at the same position um and we're four or five games in the
season and I get my first concussion and I'm out two weeks well with that we were in the middle of a bye which means we weren't playing that week um and so I came back a little bit too quick and during that bye there was a scrimmage it was our team it was uh offense First Defense and I got another concussion and um I I don't know like at that point they they they were like listen you know we don't feel like it's good if you move forward uh we think that you need to retire because of the second impact concussion and that you came back too fast like I I'd kind of blacked out and all the stuff and it wasn't good and um So within a couple weeks I was medically retired which meant I was still on scholarship but my my whole life was like what has happened like you know I not even a year ago I just accomplished what I felt like what was the dream of My Life um to play at a division one college to be on scholarship at a
division one college to play at Big Stadium from Miami to this to Georgia to all of it um and this was in and this was in 2016 and um yeah I didn't know what to do other than to numb it which is what I'd always done and um within a few months I failed a second drug test um because I just I just couldn't stop and and I'd always try and talk myself out of it in my head like they're not going to catch me like I can get out of it like they're not going to do another drug test it's like it's just this this inner this inner Civil War that's just continuous um and then going into my senior year at the very end of that first semester um so it was December of 2017 I obviously I wasn't playing I was very lonely alone I I I had isolated myself um still on scholarship still trying to go you know go to school trying to get just doing really stupid stuff though I failed a third drug test I failed three drug tests for for
marijuana usage and um they kicked me off scholarship and at that point like you know it didn't even really feel like I was on scholarship in the first place cuz I wasn't even playing but it was just such a you would think it'd be a wakeup call but it I there was so much pain in me that I just tried to move forward and act like it didn't happen so I ended up I ended up failing out my second semester um I I was left with two credits that I didn't have to graduate and because I just didn't show up for classes that last semester and within a a year or two I had went back and and finally got that graduation and and and finished so I did finish and get my my degree from North Carolina but um there was just so much shame around it and shame towards myself and feeling like I was nothing and feeling like I wasn't going to amount to anything and um and that's when you know things even take a turn for even the worse

Shame around me and my relationship with God and really and really that was with my relationship with my dad as well you know as a young boy you see your father as especially when he's your pastor and your coach and your dad at the same time it's it's hard to separate what dad thinks of me and what God thinks of me and and so after I had fed out I just said the only place I can go is home and and I don't know if I can be accepted anywhere else but I ended up taking a job in in San Antonio uh Texas which I'm not I'm from Dallas and you know I decided to be a football coach and be a I was a linebacker coach at a high school it was a private school I didn't need my my uncle was the head coach and so it was kind of like a family ties thing and so it but but it really it was just another year for me to just continue to jack up and and continue to make stupid decisions from getting wrecking my car to continuing to
use drugs and continuing to you know live two lives and try to fake it and and not know how to deal with all this pain well after that year goes by at the time during all of this I was also with who is now my wife her name's Chloe we were together dating and um I just was like I have to try and clean myself up I have to try and figure out how to make me a better person and and the only way I can see doing that is is getting married and that's probably not the best decision but it was like I I'm just gonna I'm gonna ask her to marry me and I'm going to move back to Dallas and I'm going to become a pastor and you know you think back on those those moments of like why did I want to do that number one I I I did love her and I do love her and and I'm so glad we're we're together and she's walked with me through all of this and but the other thing was why did I want to be a pastor and it was it was to please it was to
please my dad and it was to try and fit somewhere um I wanted I wanted to fit I wanted to be accepted I wanted to feel like I was a part of something but the intentions weren't pure it was it was just well if Dad did it then then maybe if I do it like I can make up for all of this and maybe God will forgive me for all of this and and so that happened and I excelled and uh we ended up getting married in August of 2019 and I was a youth pastor um in September of 2019 and I you know Co it's you know Church shutdowns blah blah blah blah blah online stuff and and the usage just kept getting worse and worse and and at the time it was you know I would get caught by my wife she kind of knew what was going on but there was so much disconnection between her and I but like I'm living I'm literally living two different lives and there's these kids that um are looking to me for advice um and I can't even give myself advice but
my dad thinks I'm doing good and my bosses think I'm doing good and the kids think I'm doing good and so up until really from 2019 to 2022 it just got worse and worse and worse and worse from with the the painkillers and um even add like adding Aderall into the mix just it it's not like and it's not like these things are bad things it's just like the intention behind why I was using it it was to trying to feel okay I was trying to feel normal I was trying to feel like I could uh I could live up to something and and I couldn't do it without a substance in my head and in April of 2022 I started to have panic attacks um it got to the point to where like physically I couldn't handle the internal pain that I was storing and I couldn't handle the internal pressure that I was ignoring and I you know I'm like I said I'm 6'3 I I weighed 225 PBS at that time I was 6'3 I weighed 160 PBS and with just I looked
like a a corpse and um couldn't eat like it just everything was off everything was off our my wife and I's relationship was off and she you know I don't even know why she stayed with me um and so really having conversations with her and then I I really just had to kind of come clean to my dad and tell him that and I wasn't even completely truthful I said listen I'm I'm dealing with some addiction and um I don't know what to do and like I know I'm your son and I know I'm a pastor and I don't know if I've ever met a pastor that's gone to rehab before and I don't even know if rehab like do I just need to go get prayer or do I need to go to like uh Church camp or you know like what you know what am I supposed to do and uh he brought me up to HR and he was like we're putting you on FMLA and you're going to rehab and because it I I think I think it was such a surprise to him and I think he was in such shock and
I think his identity was tied into mine as well I think he was in denial too by the way but go ahead oh oh for sure for sure because I I think you know there is there is an ignorance and and ignoring when there's a parent that isn't in denial they don't want to believe you know I have two little brothers as well I'm the oldest and you know they they've had their own struggles as well and they're doing a lot better but um and they're football players as well one's one's playing right now um in college the other one played played on scholarship at Baylor um and is he's in commercial real estate now but um there was a sense of denial from all of us because of the way that we believed and the way that we believed things could be healed and and I do believe in miraculous healings you know but I think I think there there's also a much deeper level of healing and so I checked myself into rehab I I went
on FMLA I told the students that I was overseeing and and at that point pastoring and I you know like and and I say that because it's just like I don't even know like I feel I feel guilt that they had to they watched my demise and and really they didn't know but you know I was overseeing a team of seven to eight people and and not showing up the way that I needed to show up and not being the leader that I needed to be in that in that time because I I didn't even know how to lead myself I didn't know how to deal with this internal pain because there was years of it stored and so rehab was a huge eye opener so I check myself into rehab you know they they take your phone I was there with about 20 other guys and in in once again in the middle of nowhere Texas and um the first thing the person said to me like the guy that owned it he looked at me and he goes are you hopeless and I said yeah and he goes good he's like that's the
perfect place to be and and that didn't really make sense to me but but what that's called is is it's called The Gift of desperation I was desperate like sometimes you have to make desperate moves and desperate times that are dangerous and unsafe and they might feel dangerous and unsafe but really they're the most safe thing that you could ever do um and for me it was dangerous to be open about my struggles in the profession that I was in with the father that I did have and who I still do have and the marriage that I'm in and and getting honest and open and um being able to get to a place to where I I can actually start to deal with this pain and so rehab was uh two or three months of the first month was one of the hardest months of my life because I couldn't escape um like where am I going to go like there's nowhere to go um who am I going to call for help um how am I going to control this situation I had to sit with it I
had to I had to regulate I had to get myself to a place to where I could start learning to trust again but really not even that but it's not even like I I needed to be reintroduced to God it was that I needed to be I needed to be actually introduced to God and um there's a quote that that it's coming out in one of my books that I'm writing that that um I'm really excited about it's coming out next year it's actually it's a coffee table book it's a book full of Art and and quotes but it says uh Dear Mr chaos and it's it's a letter Dear Mr chaos although I don't approve of your ways and your methods I appreciate that you lead them to me your friend Mr peace and the chaos of my life led me to a Breaking Point and and I I do believe that that your biggest your biggest breakdowns are your biggest breakthroughs and that all of that pain it's like you look back and it's like is did I waste all this time is all this
time was it all for nothing like um but the clarity that came through that reint that reintroduction or that introduction to who God was to me and really really who I was to me we we like to take us out of the scenario sometimes and um but I didn't like myself and I didn't accept myself and I had to sit with myself long enough and I had to sit with this new God that I didn't know and I didn't trust long enough to be able to trust him and and myself in a new way um and that's what that time of isolation and loneliness did for me in my life not saying that everything's been perfect ever since it's actually it's actually uh since I got out of rehab you know I was like I for sure don't have a job like there's no way that they're going to hire me back there's no way um and I feel like I'm talking too much I feel like you might have more questions but if like I'm captivated by this story okay well and so it's I I got out of out
of rehab and I was like look I probably don't have a job well my boss called me back and my dad was my boss's boss's boss and you know I don't know if there was nepotism there or what it was but they said we we want you we want you here and I was like are you sure because like everything that that we teach I have questions about now and and I don't want to you know I'm I'm not who I was and I'm not going to be put in the box and they said we want you here and I was like all right like like and I and I felt strongly that I was supposed to step back into that role which you know at the time I didn't know why but as as time went on I I realized but that was two years ago I stepped back into that role and I was there for six months and it was just a it was those six months were a time for me to get really honest with those kids and a time for me to get really honest with those those people that I had hired and and led and let
them know that where I was and it created a space of of security and safety um in those six months I I I don't even think I I really ever even gave a sermon it it wasn't like I was preaching um really it was more of a conversation and a place for them to come and and bring their their baggage and their pain because now that I'd learned how to engage with mine maybe I could help them engage and learn from theirs and in December of 2022 right before 2023 you know I'd been back for about four months I was I just got done working out and I was in the car you know sober you know had been sober for about six or seven months and I felt like I just heard the words jump it's time to jump and I knew it I knew I wasn't supposed to stay where I was at but at the same time like I didn't know when that would be and so that was kind of after Christmas break and after Christmas break I I came back and I told them I said I'm I'm
gonna I'm gonna work through March and March of 23 and then I'm leaving and and I was I will say I was I was a little out there and I was you know not much of a rule follower and I I I did cause some Ruckus in the midst of how I led and how I wanted to lead and and um it wasn't a fit for me and and I didn't want to bring I didn't want to bring those those kids into the middle of that you know like me trying to figure out my own stuff when they're there for a certain reason and I and I still haven't figured out all of my own stuff and and but but what I do know is that I I feel like I know I know God do I know all the facts and all the factual things and how could we I mean I I don't know but what I do know is that he's made himself known to me and that there's a relationship there and so I left in March and I didn't know what to do and um I still don't know what to do and I think that's kind of what life is
is unknowns and and being able to trust through those unknowns but in May I just said okay I'm going to buy a camera and I feel like I have a message and um I'm G to start posting and so that was May of 2023 and here we are almost a a little bit over a year later that's the sound of another sale on Shopify and the moment another business dream becomes a reality your reality Shopify is a Commerce platform revolutionizing millions of businesses worldwide including mine whether you're selling your Mastermind your courses whether you're selling your books Shopify simplify selling online and in person so you can focus on successfully growing your business and doing what you're great at creating whether it's fashion Home and Garden Health Beauty Shopify covers it all Shopify covers every sales channel from an in-person POS system to an all-in-one eCommerce platform it even lets you sell across social media marketplaces like

to life and and there's a timing and there's a season for all of it and and my issue my biggest issue right now is patience and and and impulsivity it's like I can't I can't I have to learn to not be so impulsive and not try and take things out of God's hands and put them into mind like I'm when when we do that we're we're we're taking on a burden that's not ours but at that point I I took on a I was a roofer I did Roofing and at the same time I was posting and I didn't really make that much money Roofing I mean like it it got us by um and my wife was working at the time and and I didn't really know how fast how things really worked I didn't know how I would make money um but yeah then I started to like realize that like I'm pretty good at videography and I'm pretty good at editing I edit and video all my own videos and and so I started that August I started a company um and I didn't really make it public it
it just was friends or you know people that had known me me um at the time I was growing you know I had like in August of last year I had probably you know 40,000 followers so there had already been a bit of a jump from you know 2,000 followers to 40,000 over a few months and so clients would start to come in and I would work with them and um yeah at the at the same time there was a guy and I'm not going to name names because it's it's but there was another guy that asked me to partner up with him and um I said okay and they kind of offered a different thing than I offered they were more into Tech and into you know building out you know communities for people online for you know things like that and and my my goal the whole time was like I want this to be organic I want to see I want to help people find their voice I want to help people do this I want you know and you know we worked together for
about six or seven months up until really a few months ago and it just got to a place to where I had a realization that we didn't have the same intentions um they're good people but we didn't have the same intentions and um I had to I had to leave that situation as well money was made through that time um but not like tons of it um but money was made and what it what it taught me was that there was another pattern in my life like this this last year has has has been difficult but because I've of what I'd went through two years ago like there was a bit of there was a different Foundation like I I had gone through something that was that was so Monumental in my life that I I had something I had a buoy to cling on to during the storms of what reality was and so but what I realized was that like I have an issue with men in my life and it's the same relationship playing over and over and over and it's it's it
starts with that relationship with my dad to my seventh grade coach to my high school coach to there's always it's always these men that I want their affirm I want to be affirmed I want I want that safety blanket I want that backboard and I felt like in June that I needed to become that for myself like and that was a pattern in my life that I had to break was I I need to become that for myself and you know you say that and it's like okay though that sound sounds easy but like it's it's deeply emotional it's it's an attachment and it is it is a pattern of breaking patterns are not easy and so you know June July here we are in August it's like all right well I'm going to do this on my own and I know that I have the skill to do it on my own and so I I started my media company actually I actually just restarted it on my own and and it's me and my wife and my wife is an amazing artist um she's she's a creative genius
um and so now we're we're getting restarted if feels like you're you're starting from scratch but you never it's it's not from scratch and so and then and then there's the whole other thing where it's like okay but you know I have 1.3 million followers I'm I'm gaining so many a day and but it it's so it's a paradox because the other side of it is all these Brands reaching out that want to work with me but it's like I don't uh I don't want to take away the purity of of the message that I have and so it's like it has to be the right brand it has to be and so it's it's just like there's a conviction in me um when it comes to that and so yeah like I am I am in the the building state of you know probably I'm probably in the same place as a lot of your listeners and it's scary um and I'll be honest like in in the last month I I I'm like starting to feel Panic again and I'm like why am might like you know you think you think you're
going to reach this level and and um everything's going to it's going to feel good and and but it it doesn't it because it's not about the external it's about the internal and and what I realized is over the last year of even with all of this growth is that it's death by a thousand paper cuts the subtleties of life if if you don't if you don't remember and and if you if you're easily forgetful um and if if you don't if you don't stay pure with your intentions if you don't stay pure with the message you'll find yourself in a place and and ask yourself how did I get here and it's what I believe it's always based from making decisions out of fear and and security I need security and it's and so now I'm back again here we are again and and it's a chance to start in a new way and it's a chance to learn again from patterns that weren't broken two years ago but now patterns that are being broken now and I'm sure that there
will always be more patterns that will be brought to the surface but it's it's that's what life is it's it's learning to let go learning taking these lessons but but at the same time like you ask yourself the question like aren't I supposed to feel peace in the present moment like how can I be present how can I how can I find that hope how can I find that Faith um and for me over the last really and this is very fresh over the last few weeks like I I mean it's gotten to the point to where it's like I feel like I'm I'm not happy and but there's so many good things happening and there's there's a a world of opportunity but like my my mind can go over to the other side and and think so negative and I felt like you know I'm I'm not very like open and forward with religion or God on my platform because I I think my message is for the masses um and I think God can I think God will reach them how he
wants to reach them I think my job is to tap them on the shoulder and give them something to think about but what I felt like God told me two weeks ago was uh you like to forget you like to forget um and I think as humans we like to forget um and it took me back to two years ago in rehab and the hardest moments of my life even though it might have been simpler problems and it feels more complicated now like legals involved and all these things like You're quick you're quick to forget how how big I am you're quick to forget that even through all this I've been working on your behalf you're you're quick to forget and I've made it my mission to take time to remember the last two weeks does that mean all the anxiety and all the fear goes away no but it means I'm able to remember what God did and even what I did and and the where I've come and where I've what I've done so that then I can I can there can be this
Purity to where then I can then surrender what is to come you have to you have to remember before you surrender I I think we try and surrender and it's so hard to surrender because we don't know what're surrendering too it's like but when you remember what that higher power or whatever it is that you believe what what what it's done for you when you see those little blessings when you look into the subtleties of life and and you're you become present in that and and you take the time to buy gratitude in the midst of of your chaos it's easy to surrender your chaos and be present and so I I don't know what my next months look like I don't know what next week looks like I know tomorrow I'm flying to LA and I I flew to La yesterday for a meeting that was actually tomorrow and I got it mixed up and I was like okay well now I have to spend extra money on another flight whatever it's it's just like it's just is what it and
so it's like there's it's life can be chaotic and it's like now I'm going back and you know but like what if it's all working out in in my favor what if what if I can just remember about how prayers were answered what if I can remember about how you know I was I I didn't know how to engage with my pain I didn't know how to feel I didn't know how to stop doing this but now I've been given this gift of of being able to learn to regulate and and and and I've been given this gift of you know the small influence that I have and it's just it's a I think life is a constant back and forth of dealing with your ego and and that fear and and then dealing and choosing to believe in that faith and that remembrance of of who you truly are and who you're meant to be and um I'm in the midst of that right now I'm so proud of you I'm mean it's like I it's so incredible watching you and it's so incredible you're bringing
everyone on this journey Journey with you it it takes so much humility it takes so much courage and I'm just I'm so proud of you you mentioned being in rehab and learning abilities coping skills what are some of the things that you took from the time that you were imparting on the kids you're working with and now that you're using through your platform to teach other people I think I think the biggest thing there's two things learning to feel again learning to feel and and and trust and faith um in rehab I was I was pretty much pushed into a corner and I and I had to feel I had to feel all of my I had to feel all of the things that were tucked away for years and I I didn't know how to organize those things or I didn't know how to bring restoration to those things um and I I think with feeling comes you got to be okay with feeling the good the bad the ugly the doubt the faith the happy The sad we were G we
were given feelings for a reason and uh growing up in church one thing I always heard was that my feelings lie feelings lie and I don't know if that's true you know and like I said I don't have all the answers but for me it I don't think feelings Li Li I think feelings I think feelings give you the ability if you engage with them and you sit with them and you welcome them feelings can give you the ability to to gain Clarity why am I fearful right now even on this podcast when I know I have 1.3 million followers I know that I'm getting this business being built I know that I'm there's a book coming out why am I fearful it's okay to question um I'm fearful and the reason I'm fearful is because I'm I'm insecure and why am I insecure like it it's just you go you can go down these rabbit holes of of being able to like understand why what is this feeling in my stomach right now why am I feeling like this and and a lot
of it is it a lot of it does go back to Childhood a lot of it does go back to you feeling like you didn't have the permission to feel so you had to step it away and and we have to act this way and if you act this way and you believe this way it's all going to work out and and and it's just stuffing stuffing stuffing stuffing all of it bury it don't don't get it out like there has to be some way to feel for me it's talking um it's writing um when I feel like there's so many thoughts and I don't know how to sort through there's so many thoughts and feel I don't know how to sort through them it's it's being able to have someone hold space for me to talk myself through what's going on and what I've realized is usually I already have the answer we we we're always looking for answers and and I think we can put people on pedestals for answers and we forget that no one knows us as good as we know know us and no one
knows us as good as God knows us and and if we will take the time to explore for these feelings and then maybe an answer will come out of it for me it was why am I so fearful two weeks ago and having a conversation with my wife and realizing that I'm easily forgetful and realizing that I've I've not acknowledged how far I've come because I'm dealing with like like I'm dealing with this lack of of value in myself I'm dealing with this thing deep inside of me that needs to be brought to the light and it's not something that I believe will always rule me but it's something that is slowly broken I I love the quote it's it's you're not becoming anything you're you're Unbecoming everything that you're not and and so there's still parts of me that I need to unbecome there's still parts of me that I need to let go there's still deep Securities that I need to let go but I can't do that until I sit with fear or until I sit with
sadness or until I sit with you know even even when I sit with like why am I so impulsive and and and and so it's it's making time and and you know the church calls it quiet time the the world calls it uh what do they call it uh mind fulness or you know being able to sit and be quiet meditation like being able to sit and feel and know that you're safe you can hold space for yourself these feelings aren't going to overtake you they're not in control you are in control and you have the ability to work through this you have the ability to talk through this to write through this whatever it is whether that's talk therapy one therapy that really really helped me was was ecoin therapy horses um I mean these horses are insane like I would walk up to a horse and the counselor would ask me how do you feel and I would say good and I didn't feel good and the horse would nay at me and walk off and finally within a couple weeks I
she said how do you feel and I said I don't feel good and the C the horse came and laid its head on my shoulder and it it made me know that healing healing isn't about being this thing healing what I think healing is is being able to be authentically you 100% of the time I think that's what healing is and and I don't know if there's like this Enlightenment or like I will be healed forever I think that takes away the point of life I think that we're always on a journey of learning and digging deep ER and being real and being raw and being honest and being vulnerable um to be able to learn the lesson that God or the situation or life or the universe is trying to teach us and if we can get present and remember all of the good that's that's come and from from all of the pain from all of the failed drug tests from all of that addiction from the panic attacks from all of it like all of the good like can can I just
can I remember the good um I don't usually quote the Bible but I know it very well but uh and I don't know if you're if you're uh following knows anything about the Bible but um when when the Israelites entered into the promised land it had been 40 years obviously Moses was no longer with them and they crossed I think it was the River Jordan don't quote me on that um but right when they all crossed it was millions of them at that moment after those 40 Years of wandering and they didn't have to wander for 40 years that was 40 Years of God trying to get them to break patterns if they would right when they right when they all finally crossed and Joshua and Caleb were with him God said I want you to take a stone for each tribe and I want you to make a monument so that you will remember what I did and those 40 years before the reason they were wondering is because they kept forgetting like literally God had just
parted the the the sea and they'd walk through it and within months they had forgot that he did that and they were worshiping a golden calf because that's human nature we want we want answers now we want we want to take control now we want to figure this out now for our own safety and uh and I don't think that's a bad thing but it is a bad thing when we let that fear control us so that's the first thing and then and then within that feeling is that faith of if I can explore this feeling and I can get to the bottom of it why am I feeling like I'm I have no value well it's because I've lost my faith and if I have no faith then who am I and if I can remember if I can if I can take those stones and I can build that Memorial and I can remember and I can be present then maybe I will be able to connect the two and realize that I don't know what's coming next but what I do know is that however it happens it was supposed to
happen and I and I know it's going to be good and so that has been my reminder has it's been if I can stay pure intentions Purity wise like my pure intentions if I can stay connected to my feelings if I can continue to find Hope in those feelings if I can remember then why then why would I let tomorrow or next week or next month take away my joy from today and why would I let my past take away my joy from today when all the good has come from it and so it's about getting present there is no other moment than this moment and so it's I it's it's practicing presence I think is the main message and and how to how to practice presence it is is remembering and surrendering wow JB I know everyone listening right now is thinking how can they connect with you how can they work with you how can they follow you give us all the details um well I'm on Instagram I'm on Tik Tok um really if if you if you want a daily
