for check check check all right what's up everybody Welcome to high strange streams number 15 today's going to be a good one one I got a very cool looking main game I'm I have like the feature game and then I got small games that I play on the side that's how we do it uh but first we'll start out with some recommendations as always so wreck number one let me turn this music way down uh this is a movie called The Cursed so this is perfect for spooky season this is a nice aut Vibe uh it is a uh actually I got my notes this time I wrote notes about it um so this is a English set movie uh basically it is um the patriarch of an aristocratic English family the Lorent uh establishes his estate on a large plot of valuable land a band of gypsies roll back onto the land and set up camp claiming they own the rights to the land and they have proof they have the deed to the land uh so this this is a problem

for Alistair Lorent patriarch of that family um very embarrassing he already built his estate he's already established his farmlands and such he's a big old rich guy in the old days this is like a Victorian era Gaslight era uh somewhere like yeah yeah late yeah turn of the century pretty much um there's also a little bit that goes into World War I um where's my summary at okay so yeah um these gypsies roll onto this land this dude's like what do we do this is our land I claimed it obviously it's rightfully the Gypsy land um so he goes to his confidants his executive people of the company or royal family or whatever he's a part of I can't really tell you I'm not sure which um but they hatch a plan to basically intimidate the gypsies off of their land um by the way I know it's Romani but that's this is the term they use in the movie um but they uh so they go they go gather up their horses they

have torches they have guns they go and surround the camp and they try and intimidate the gypsies out of out of the land um it goes wrong they start arguing one person gets killed then a massacre occurs the the wealthy guys destroy the encampment and Burn It To The Ground um at the end of this massacre there is a matriarch of the ramani um colony and she curses the land and she curses the Laurent family uh and she's Buried Alive by the Lorent um along with this weird set of silver teeth sharp silver teeth um is buried in a box with her uh eventually the families of all the men involved so the the the the people he gathered up with him their descendants and well their immediate family they're still alive throughout this whole movie the whole generation is still there but the younger Generations as well all start having the same nightmares about the land and uh various like demonic things happening on the land as well and

it is amazing looking it looks so cool um so it's it's very moody it's atmospheric uh it has some amazing like creature stuff in it I don't want to give anything away as far as like what the horror actually is but it does a lot of different things so it's hard to even give that away um but check this out uh the the cast is incredible it's an entirely British cast so it's all very well trained actors as British movies always do English movies always do uh Boyd Holbrook is the main character he's kind of like a monster hunter um how you doing guys um yeah this movie is awesome sorry I'm getting my chat up yeah check out that joint um Boyd holberg's the main character he's great he's like super super underrated um I can't even think of what else he's in uh I know I've seen him in some stuff that I I really enjoy but I didn't write that down Kelly Riley from uh Justified Beth from Justified is uh the matriarch of

the Lorent family she's also really great in this movie uh my other recommendation so that's the cursed it's on Hulu right now in the states um pretty easy to find though you can rent it but you know going back to it this movie just kind of came and went I didn't hear anything about it maybe it came out during Co or maybe it was shot during Co or something like that but I was watching it with Taylor and the whole time I was just like how have I not heard of this movie this is so good and there's so many things in it that you think would be clipped and like plastered all over YouTube and Tik Tok and such um you know just the individual scare scenes and stuff like that um but it's incredible the vibe is immaculate it it it kind of reminds me of something like 30 Days of Night or um another movie by that same director called Dark Harvest dark Harvest that came out last year it's a great movie as well um cool

movie uh podcast recommendation this is like one of the oldest hit podcasts there is lore I just started listening to it though and if you haven't maybe people sleep on it because it's been around so long you maybe don't exactly know what it is that's kind of the camp I was in um this is basically a podcast examining um folklore hence the the name and urban legends and uh the host Dives deep into these Legends tells you the history of some of the more specific events like there's a great episode called the bloody pit I think it's episode two or three of the first season uh which is just about this mining accident that occurred so he goes through the whole history of the mining accident and then some of the ghost stories that were told about it later on that being the folklore so then he gives you sort of sort of like an idea of the veracity of the folkloric accounts the urban legend accounts but also gives you

the history that inspired it so there's an episode on vampires and it kind of goes deep into you know what all these various Legends throughout European and American history that inspired uh the idea of the vampire uh it's a great great podcast um but again I'm way late on that there's even a TV show based on it so y'all might already know about that one but it's great yeah cousin Ed check out the cursed all right let's get game in Boop too early oh snap I got to turn that music off there we go all right so I got one big game longer game called befriended curse I think I think it's in the title of the stream and then I got a couple shorter games as well this will be one of the shorter ones I got off the itch this is called um Motel very simply after looking for help for an hour you reach a motel I just played a motel game and it was kind of frustrating so hopefully this one's better make sure my brightness is up

off another hour all right try all these doors again oh that one's open I don't know if y'all can hear that but there's I don't think it's saying anything in specific but it's a demonic Whispering this is the worst sleep of my life what up y'all if you're watching jump in the chat

okay what am I trying to accomplish what do I need to do in the office toilet toilet back to sleep sleepy sleepy sleepy back to the office oh my God light went out oh just see a ghostly Apparition and then go straight to sleep like I'm a dang Ghost Hunter doesn't even baze me

I wonder if I have to wait another hour mhm come back in an hour who could have predicted that door door can't see that door there it is set the alarm go to sleep and we're back oh now it's dark one more out o hey all right what happened presumably I was looking the wrong

direction okay it's getting more hellish more spooky and red okay okay he got me open up open up I guess you could hear that they've been missing for 10 years they've been missing for 10 years me all right get that out of here oh huh what what the what the hey all right I think that's it listen the jump scare it got me that's about the most I can say about it not a lot to it but what there was to it it got me it got me I can't deny it that was Motel it surely was Motel all right next short game uh oh there's a version without VHS and a version with VHS so we shall see how this goes there's the VHS nice

these VHS games always kind of like put a hat on the hat and it's like VHS Aesthetics graininess but then also this like8 bit kind of scan line it's like too much they would have been find just the one layer but they they second guess themselves and they do it they go a little too far

now this is called the straw man um and it's about misrepresenting your opponent's arguments no um it is is about corn that's what it's about the straw man hello I'm the straw man I need help there's no signal here I've played a game much like this I think it was called the cornfield I got to say I'm a I'm a big fan of corn I like looking at it I like being amongst it it uh has it has a good vibe okay what do I

problem playing this game and yet here we are having a problem dang it it's definitely because I'm just trying to stream it but it won't even let me uh for some reason when I try and stream some games it just puts it in the corner in this little windowed thing but it's not really a windowed thing it's just like kind of jacked up um and that's what's happening right now it's giving me a cursor but I can't click on anything that's a bummer

shoot that's annoying because I don't have a backup but I can probably figure one out so if anyone was here just to watch me play friended curse it is not working but I'll try and get another game real quick that is also a little bit longer and allegedly super scary this person says the game is too dark that's not going to work for a stream homeless that looks to survival this one looks

done I don't know Escape rooms are uh my jam but that is it's a it's a lot easier i' I've looked at like virtual escape room things and they do some of them seem fun maybe I haven't looked at the right ones but some of them uh I mean all of them just look too hard because a big thing that about an escape room is you just like run around rifling through everything as fast as you can which is hard to do in a video game you're just like in real life you're just like throwing stuff around you're yelling at the other teammates and stuff and so you can cover a lot of ground a lot more quickly than you can in a video game yeah hel atro if you have not tried an escape room do a horror themed one they're great they're they're actually scary a lot of them they you get you get really nervous we just did one recently in uh Ashland Virginia that was amazing a company called red Vin puts them on just the local people design

everything all right so this one is called why the village and I believe it is try normal for now uh I'll do sensitivity at two English language please uh about the game oh okay credits um I believe this is a russian-made game to progress in the game you need to read the notes we're doing a lot of reading game is on the screen we're killing it all right I'm reading the notes what is that a loading screen English B who constantly has nightmares about a village whose name he doesn't know whoa that was way too fast the note reads do you want to nightmares we are waiting for the next day Batu sees another note at his door this time the name of the village is written on

like what language fearing to go to the Village alone because he doesn't know who is calling him bat sets off towards theage village with a group however the team sees a man wearing a gas mask at the entrance of the village spooky ah have you seen the mask one up there where right across there there careful are you blind don't you see it how long are we going to talk about does he see it is waiting for us and scaring yourselves oh this is probably Turkish after seeing this man this mysterious man most of the team gets scared and decides not to enter the village getting out of the car to return Batu who hasn't seen the man thinks his friends are hallucinating from fear and continues on his way only one friend remains with Batu I've said Batu a lot of times Batu and his friend are greeted by a local of the village named H you grew up well I'm just going to let them go they're actually killing it this

is awesome Hassan offers them to room to sleep in the basement something up until this point everything was normal until Batu wakes up the sound of a siren to the sir sound of a siren at night Silent Hill okay Bet woke up his friend was not in bed can you find your friend can you solve the mystery of the village and manage manage to escape all right let's see what normal looks like now probably pressing my look yep

stays the same Lona yeah I mean Liona well so Mexico is based out of Western religion as well or it's kind of a a mashup of Western religion and um Central American Pagan religions um but I think Liona is a pretty Catholic basis I'm not sure about that though I shouldn't say that but it feels like a classic kind of um ghost story where it's like basically a ghost story you tell your children so that they behave properly we have a lot of that in the West
