What this episode is about

Donald Trump's recent press conference marked a tumultuous reflection on his presidency, as he faced tough questions regarding Greenland's rejection of U.S. interest and controversially stated that military presence enhances towns' safety. Additionally, his bizarre comments about potentially injuring his finger and lamentations over not receiving a Nobel Peace Prize drew widespread condemnation and scrutiny.

Key takeaways

  • When world leaders reject your offers, remember: self-determination isn't just a buzzword, it's a principle.
  • Military presence makes towns 'look better'? Welcome to a new era of aesthetics over actual community safety.
  • Whining about a Nobel Prize while dodging accountability? Classic deflection: when in doubt, blame Norway.
  • Claiming grocery prices are a success while America fears inflation? Reality check: perception isn't always aligned with truth.
  • A 'board of peace' with autocrats sounds like a sitcom pitch: 'The Diplomatic Misfits'. Expect chaos, not unity.

Donald Trump just held a disastrous press conference to mark his first year of what has been the most disastrous term in presidential history. Donald Trump was asked by reporters, you know, what are you going to say when Greenland has repeatedly told you that they do not want to be part of the United States. Here, play this clip.

More one more question. Mr. President, you said your comment something's going to get worked out in Greenland, but Greenlanders have made it clear they don't want to be part of the US the right to take away that self-determination.

When I speak to them, I'm sure they'll be thrilled. Then Donald Trump says that he believes that all towns look better when they have the military in the towns. As Mike Rothschild said, "We've come a long way from don't tread on me." Here, play this clip.

They were picking up garbage and I mean they they were great. And I don't know to me that to me a town it looks better when you have military people. These are big strong guys and bad guys look at them and they say we're not going to mess around. But

then Donald Trump gets worried that his finger is going to get stuck in like a paper clip and he starts saying this sucker could have got my finger but if it got my finger I wouldn't have showed any pain at all. So bizarre. Here play this clip.

The book on accomplishments. And this is some Oh, I'm glad my finger wasn't in that sucker. That could have done some damage. But you know what? I wouldn't have shown the pain. I would have gone back. Boy, did you hear that? That That was nasty. But I would not have shown the pain. I would have acted like nothing happened as my finger fell off. That was a nasty. I think somebody did that. I think some It was him. That's It was my man. How were you? You didn't do it. I know you did. I know you didn't. So, uh,

and then Donald Trump goes on to, uh, whine that he hasn't gotten a Nobel Peace Prize. And he said, you know, look, Norway really calls the shots. And I blame Norway for this. Here, play this clip.

Time we ended, they were hugging each other. And it's been a great piece. You know, should have gotten the Nobel Prize for each war, but I don't say that. I saved millions and millions of people. And don't let anyone tell you that Norway doesn't control the shots, okay? that it's in Norway. Norway controls the shots. They'll say we have nothing to do with it. Uh it's a joke. They've lost such prison.

A reporter then says, "How is any of this America first?" Like, "How is you whining about a Nobel Peace Prize? How does that help Americans?" Here, play this clip.

Go ahead. I'll take your question. Thank you. Thank you. Go ahead. Right here. Thank you, Mr. President. Um you promised during your second inaugural to always put America first. I'm curious, how would you winning the Nobel Peace Prize improve the lives of average everyday Americans? Why is this prize so important?

It wouldn't improve the lives of any what what improved the lives of people are people that are living. I saved probably tens of millions of lives.

Then Donald Trump starts cursing out special counsel Jack Smith. Let's play it.

Is like deranged Jack Sick Smith. He's a sick son of a They gave me the worst of the worst and here I am. How did that happen?

Then Trump claims that everything is affordable. He says that we've solved the affordability issues and groceries are way down and Americans are thriving. He claims here, play this clip

about it. They created the affordability problem and we have we are solving it. We have solved a lot of it. Again, everybody agrees in this room. I think gasoline prices have come per gallon way down. When that happens, everything else comes down, but they've come down way down. Uh many of the groceries have come way down. It's all happening and it's happening strong. Then Donald Trump is asked if he wants the board of peace, this fake board of peace that he's creating where he's invited Russia, Putin, Lucenko, and others to join. Do you want that to replace the United Nations? And then Donald Trump seems to say yes. played this clip.

Yeah. Go ahead. Thank you so much, Mr. President. Uh I have a two questions for you. One, do you want uh your board of peace to replace the UN?

Well, right. I mean, the UN just hasn't been very helpful. I'm I'm a big fan of the UN potential, but it has never lived up to its potential. The UN should have settled every one of the wars that I settled. I never went to them. I never even thought to go to them. Uh they should be able to settle those wars. They don't I I believe you got to let the UN continue because uh the potential is so great.

A reporter from Norway asks Donald Trump a question about Norway and then Donald Trump says, "You look like you must be from Norway." Play this clip.

She's in. It would be good. But I get along very well. Have you uh told Norway's prime minister,

"Are you from Norway?" No. You look like you would be from She looks like she's from Norway. Donald Trump says because he received the medal of the Nobel Peace Prize from Maria Karina Machado that he'd like to get her involved perhaps some way with Deli Rodriguez, the authoritarian leader of Venezuela, who's allowed Donald Trump to open up a Qatari bank account. Donald Trump says, "Yeah, you know, maybe we'll have some involvement for the opposition leader. Maybe maybe we'll give her a little role. Who knows? This is this great job, Maria Machado. If you thought that kissing the gangster ring would allow you to um come back into to be in power, not come back into power, this this is what you get here. Play this clip.

An unbelievably nice woman also did a very incredible thing as you know a few days ago. Uh she's we're talking to her and maybe we can get her involved in some way. I'd love to be able to do that. Maria, maybe we can do that. But we're dealing with the people. Invented the president.

Donald Trump then doesn't rule out uh taking over the Panama Canal. Play this clip.

Prisoners in Venezuela. President earlier on last year. You had mentioned you had indicated that you wanted to take back the Panama Canal. I know we've we've heard a lot about Greenland. Is that still on the table?

I don't want to tell you that. Sort of. I I must say sort of. That's sort of One more.

And then in front of him, he had like a few hundred pages that he just started flipping through for a lot of the beginning of this press conference. By the way, this press conference lasted like hours. Uh it took him like two hours before he even that's why I'm making a brief summary of this disaster that unfolded. But for a lot of it, he just started flipping through pages and he was like, "Look at all of these pages. Must be a lot of information in these pages of things I did here. Play this clip.

Here's the book. These are all things we have. I'm going to read a few of the samples, but look at this. These are all Each line is something that we did. Nobody did that before. And it's it's big stuff, too. Look, we have the hottest country in the world. Then Donald Trump claims that there's no inflation when we all know there is inflation. And he says that tariffs have saved everything, which we know is not the case. And we know that 96% of the tariffs have been uh born have been uh passed through to the consumers. But here play this clip

and we have tremendous national security because of tariffs and tremendous income. You know we have and by the way no inflation. So everyone said oh tariffs will cause inflation. We have no inflation. We have very little inflation. Biden had inflation and he didn't do tariffs. We had a huge problem. we had uh we have a 62% reduction in our trade deficit. So

then Donald Trump goes on this bizarre rant about how his mom told him that he could be a major league baseball player and how there was uh a mental institution near the baseball field where he would play and that now there's no more mental institutions so he wants more mental institutions. He says here, play this clip. We had in my area in Queens. I grew up in Queens. We had a place called Creedmore. Creedmore. Did anybody know that? Creedmore. It was a big I said, "Uh, mom, why are those bars on the building?" I used to play little league baseball there, place called Cunningham Park, who's quite the baseball player. You wouldn't believe. But I said to my mother, "Mom," she would be there, always there for me. She said, "Son, you could be a professional baseball player." I said, "Thanks, Mom." I said, "Why are those bars on the windows, big building big powerful building? It loomed over the

park, actually." She said, "Well, people that are very sick are in that building." I said, "Boy, I used to always look at that building and I'd see this big building, big tall building. It loomed over the park. it was sort of now that I think it was pretty unfriendly site but I I'll never forget I don't know if it's still there because they got rid of most of them you know they the Democrats in New York they took them down and the people live on the streets now that's why you have a lot of the people in in California and other places they live in the streets they took the mental institutions down they're expensive

he's then upset that the Gulf of Mexico is not being called the Gulf of Trump and he said, "Yeah, you know, I started calling it the Gulf of America, but really I want to call it the Gulf of Trump." He says, "Here, play this clip."

Why Why is it the Gulf of Mexico? It should be the Gulf of America. I was going to call it the Gulf of Trump, but I thought that I would be killed if I did that. I wanted to do it. I wanted to. My people work so hard. Sir, I don't think it'll look too good. I'm telling you, it's a good thing and it'll be hotter than ever. No, but I decided not.

He then praises the Hell's Angels. Let's play this clip right here. People that came in illegally, many cases they're criminals in many, many cases. You remember when they used to say that the people that come into our country as immigrants are very nice people. They're wonderful people. They don't commit crime. No, they make our criminals look like babies. They make our Hell's Angels look like the sweetest people on earth. The Hell's Angels are now considered a nice, highquality person. I like the Hell's Angels. They voted for me. They protected me actually, believe it or not. But they make our criminals look like babies. He then praises the leader of Syria, Al Giuli, who used to be the leader of ISIS. Um, used to be a terrorist, uh, and Donald Trump praises the guy and says, you know, look, Al Galani, Al Galani is great, and, you know, look at all the great work he's done. I mean, the Al Galani government

forces just massacred uh the Kurds in northern Syria uh and took over the semi-autonomous region. The Kurds were allied with the United States and helped us go after ISIS. But Donald Trump praises Donald Trump as like a love affair, like like a attraction to the authoritarian leader of Syria, Al Jalani. You play this clip. And uh the Syrian government the last two weeks uh had to use some force to to implement its force on uh specific areas and

to keep to keep the prisoners the terrorist prisoners which is some of the worst in the world at bay. So they they were able to keep that. He's working very hard. The president of Syria is working very very hard. Strong guy, tough guy. Uh pretty rough resume. But you're not going to put a choir boy in there and, you know, get the job done. Uh, I spoke with with him yesterday because we were talking about the prisons and, you know, what was going. We have some of the worst terrorists in the world in those prisons

and he's watching serious. Mr. President, Gavin Newsome is Then Donald Trump is asked, "How far are you willing to go in terms of acquiring Greenland?" And he goes, I guess you'll find out here. Play this clip right here.

How far are you willing to go to acquire Greenland? you'll find out. And then Donald Trump lies and claims that he's bringing drug prices down 500%. We've heard him say this before. Let's play it.

Uh regulations where they go by California, which is a disaster state, with a with a governor that truly is doing a bad job. It's killing that state. If he ever ran the country, this country would be Venezuela very quickly.

Well, there you have it, folks. Let me know what you think. Just a complete and utter disaster. I I don't even know what we're even watching. This is embarrassing. Hit subscribe.
