What this episode is about
Donald Trump is facing severe backlash from multiple fronts this Saturday, being criticized by oil executives over his Venezuela plans, rebuked by the Nobel Peace Prize board, and facing discontent from the American public amid a hiring recession and widespread protests. His efforts to deflect criticism through social media posts reveal a continued focus on past controversies, including the Russian investigation, while he grapples with both political and economic challenges.
Key takeaways
- Even oil executives call Trump's $100 billion Venezuela plan a tall tale; reality check, anyone?
- While Trump touts credit card reforms for 2026, can we expect a plan that doesn’t sound like campaign fluff?
- As hiring stagnates and protests rise, Trump's reality seems doomed to repeat the mistakes of past leaders.
- Pardoning fraudsters while claiming to combat corruption: Trump's strategy might win headlines, but not hearts.
- With just 38.2% of manufacturing jobs growing, the only thing 'populist' about Trump’s plan is its distance from reality.

Donald Trump is having a catastrophic Saturday already. He is being rebuked by oil executives with his plan in Venezuela. The oil executives are like "We have no clue what you're talking about." Donald Trump is being rebuked by Norway and the Nobel Peace Prize board. Donald Trump is being rebuked by the American people as it is clear we are in a hiring recession according to most economists and protests are spreading across the country right now. Let's get into it all. So, Donald Trump is trying to post away post after post this morning as I guess part of his therapy for the mn malignant narcissistic corrosive mind as he's now in Mara Lago on the taxpayer dime. Yet again, he keeps posting these articles by Greg Jarrett this morning that are all like this. Comey's Russian hoax is a reminder of how he is similar to Nixon. What are you even talking about? You're still going on with the Russian hoax, dude.
You rolled out the red carpet for Vladimir Putin in Alaska. You made our soldiers bend on their knees while they rolled out the red carpet. We see you praising Putin right now. Is that part of a a Russia hoax? Then he posts the following about Governor Walls in Minnesota. As the Trump regime has launched a fullscale assault on the state of Minnesota, they are now adding an additional 1,000 uh Gestapo SS paramilitary ICE troops in Minnesota. Um, now the numbers 3,000 total troops in Minnesota. You have Donald Trump posting the following. Greg Jared is great. And he then quotes Greg Jarrett saying, "If Walls is charged in Minnesota fraud scandal, his best defense is incompetence. Walls is not being charged." The DOJ in 2024 investigated and charged the actual criminals. It was led by a white lady and there was a group of other people who have been prosecuted, convicted, and others still await trial. You want to
know what Donald Trump is doing? Whereas Biden was prosecuting the fraudsters Donald Trump has been pardoning the fraudsters. Billions of dollars stolen by various fraudsters. Donald Trump just said, "Your sentence is commuted. Your sentence gets pardon. Oh, you're one of the biggest narco terrorists out there. Juan Orlando Hernandez, you worked with El Chapo to kill Americans. You get a pardon also. Trump has pardoned the biggest fraudsters. Trump is a fraud. Trump has been found civily liable of fraud. Donald Trump has been convicted of felonies. Donald Trump has been found civily liable of sexual abuse. Donald Trump has bankrupted multiple entities.
It's all projection when it comes to Donald Trump. Here's the article talking about how oil executives have no clue what Donald Trump is talking about when he says that the oil companies committed $100 billion. Unless of course it means that the taxpayers are subsidizing the oil companies. Trump's 100 billion Venezuela oil plan gets a cool reception. Trump met with oil and gas executives on Friday. You saw that in the White House. And here's what they said. After Trump promised $100 billion of investments in Venezuela by big oil two people close to the companies attending Friday's meeting caution that they were not aware of any such commitments by any of the businesses. In other words, Trump's a fraud. Trump lies about every single thing. And now that we're in an election year and now that it looks like the MAGAS are going to get clobbered in the midterms and good because they've been horrific to the
American people. Donald Trump has more scams that he's going to roll out. Like this one. Donald Trump says, "Please be informed." He posted this. Please be informed that we will no longer let American public be ripped off by credit card companies that are charging interest rates of 20 to 30% and even more which festered unimpeded during sleepy Joe Biden's administration. Affordability. He puts that in caps after previously saying it's a hoax. Effective January 20th, 2026. Okay. What's going to be effective? Are you going to do it? Are you going to get this legislation passed? Are you going to rally Congress and do a law? Okay.
Effective January 2026, I, as President of the United States, am calling for a one-year cap on credit card interest rates of 10%. Coincidentally, January 20th was when he was inaugurated. Okay? So, effective on January 20th, 2026, you will be calling for it. You want to do it. You want to get a law passed. You You've called for Doge dividend checks. That was a fraud. You've called for tariff rebate checks. That's a fraud. But you did give $40 billion to Argentina. I guess you are going to give a hundred billion dollars to the oil companies. I guess that's what I guess when it comes to America. Yeah. You just you call for it. You call for it. Also I think an important point to address is what happens to consumers who lose access to credit entirely if there are caps. Look, I just think it has to be systemically addressed. I don't like to see usurious and these ridiculous it should it it's ridiculous and I think it
is a form of uh consumer fraud. the fact that these these this interest is so high, but we also need thoughtful planning and not just lies coming from the Oval Office to to actually address the issue. And that's why you have legislation. That's why these things are supposed to public hearings. Let's get it done. Let's cap it. Let's not just call for it. And then let's deal with housing. Let's deal with affordability. Let's deal with the fact that Americans who work are unable to support themselves even if they have multiple jobs. Let's talk about that. Let's talk about stopping the fact that while billionaires are getting richer, right they've increased their net worth by trillions this past year. We're in a hiring recession, economists say. And if you look at every sector basically of the 72 different types of manufacturing jobs tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, just 38.2% are still adding jobs. A year ago, that
number was 47.2%. Just think about it that way. Now, I've also mentioned what is Donald Trump doing while all of these problems are taking place. He's invading states and cities and towns across this country and specifically focusing on blue states sending his military force to retaliate against states that didn't vote for him. As Andrew Lawrence points out, what's missing from all the coverage is that the president is using the military to harass, brutalize, and punish areas of the country that didn't vote for him.
Well, we're covering it that way here on the Midas Touch Network. For example the United States Department of Agriculture has just cut off all federal funding to Minnesota as Trump launches his invasion of Minnesota or escalates the already existing invasion of Minnesota and Minneapolis. Now, this follows Donald Trump cutting off all federal funding for child care services to five blue states, including Minnesota. and Judge Subramani and a federal judge in the Southern District of New York just blocked the Trump regime's efforts to cut off federal funding for child care services. Right?
So like as the state of New York is trying to move towards universal child care and I think there should be universal child care. I think there should be universal health care. I think there should be free education for people. And I think that rather than Donald Trump posting about $1.5 trillion military defense budgets, I think if that defense budget was say $500 billion and then we tax the rich a little bit more, and, they, at least, paid, their, fair share, we would have more than enough money to pay for all of this and we would be a much happier country. We would have a much higher standard of living. And isn't that what governance should be about? But no, the Trump regime suspending Department of Agriculture funding and doing anything they can to attack the state. And let me just show you what some of these Gestapo are saying. After the murder of Renee Nicole Good by Jonathan Ross, say her
name, Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered in cold blood by Trump's SS Ice Gestapo. Here is what we're seeing some of these Gustapo saying as they are being filmed by people on the street. A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you." The agent then responds "Have you not learned your lesson over the past couple of days?" referring to the fact that Ice murdered in cold blood Renee Nicole Good. So they say, "That's our warning to the rest of you." And then the woman said, "Learned what?" And this Ice Gestapo takes her phone and throws it on the floor here. Play this clip right here.
Shame, on, you. Listen. Have y'all not learned from the past couple of days? Have you not learned?
Learned, what?, What's, our, lesson, here? What do you want us to learn? Following, federal, agents.
Give, me, some. I, think, it, was, notable, when, I, was talking about the United States Department of Agriculture suspending federal funding. If you look at the uh way this is being reported right here um a lot more reporting by right-wing press than center or left-wing press because the right-wing loves the pain and suffering they're inflicting on the rest of the country. They get off on pain when we're saying, "Can we help Americans all live better lives?" They fester in the evil. And as I referred to this, Trump regime is an evil regime.
They're bad people. And sometimes it's as simple as saying that they exist to hurt others. That's what they've shown with their actions. So, I often get asked, "How do I stay up to date on the news all the time in order to do this podcast?" Um, well, our biggest go-to news source at Midas Touch is Ground News. You guys, this is a subscriberfunded app and news site and every day they pull in thousands of articles from around the world and they organize them by story type and then show you what the right is reporting what the center is reporting, what the left is reporting. It's a gamecher because as active, responsible citizens we must get our news from reliable sources and Trump's America. Being informed about the facts and media bias it's the most important thing that you can do. But that's why I love ground news. The Midas Touch Network loves ground news. For every article, they also tell you, did a media conglomerate
put this news out or was it independent media? And they also give you the degree of factuality, which is interesting as there's a lot of news sources from media conglomerates that have mixed or low factuality. Independent media seems to have a higher factuality, but you get all that with your ground news vantage subscription. And I especially like their blind spot feed, which highlights stories that are disproportionately covered by one side of the political spectrum, like the story I just shared with you about the Department of Agriculture cutting off funding for Minnesota. So join us by going to ground.news/mtn to get 40% off the ground news vantage plan that I use every morning. They are subscriberfunded. By subscribing, you're not only getting a tool we all need today, you're also supporting our work here on this YouTube channel. That's gru n d.news/mtn.
And we pinned a link to purchase your subscription below. Now, I just want to show you what Donald Trump is inflicting on the world and in this country. So first I want to show you in Greenland what the people in Nuke are saying about Donald Trump's invasion and how Trump threatening invasion of Greenland is giving the people their nightmares. Like they're traumatized by the threats that their beautiful country might be invaded by Trump regime which refers to itself as a predator. They are terrified. They are a peaceful people. Let's play this clip. talk about him because he spoil my my sleep or they do. Yeah, I don't sleep very well because I'm afraid they have no respect for us, for my country and for our country.
So what, I, think, is, he, wants, the, Greenlandic minerals to pay off the national depths of United States. That's what I think. Do
you, think, people, are, really, scared, in, in in Greenland? Yeah,, I've, seen, quite, few, who, were concerned.
I, dreamed, about, him, last, night., Yeah. Nightmare. Nightmare, that, he, was, coming, with, the ship. It was awful that dream. So I am I'm I'm scared
what, the, reasons, behind, it., It, we, don't get it really. It's so peaceful and calm here. And he and they he says that Denmark is not protecting Greenland from what and there's been a collaboration with the USA for many many many years. So this it's not all of the sudden but it's really aggressive now and it's getting kind of annoying.
Now, that's, in, Nuke, snowy, cold, weather Greenland. I take you to the snowy cold weather in Minnesota where the Minnesota parents are terrified to send their children to school because Donald Trump is terrorizing that community as well in Minnesota. Here play this clip.
Your, kids, may, be, going, back, to, school, on Monday. just talk to me about the concerns you have with that being a possibility.
Um,, yes., Well,, we, do, hope, they, can return to school. We are very worried for our own kids as well as all of our school families and their kids. There are several school families who have not been able to come to school because they've been scared to leave their house. So, um, we don't know when ICE will leave, but it feels like we're always going to have to be on alert until ICE is out of Minnesota. And you know, we talked a little bit about that video from Wednesday of those ICE agents at a local high school, even though your kids are more elementary school age.
Just talk to me as a parent, your reaction to seeing video like that. Super, frightening, because, anything, could have happened and stuff did happen that hurt um observers and bystanders. Any of those students at the school could have been caught in the crossfires. Um so it's really a terrible overstepping the line of what ICE is doing. and they're just out of control and they're putting all of us in danger.
Now,, I, did, find, this, interesting, as well, which is when State Regime when State Regime Media Fox tried to antagonize the peaceful protesters. They were trying to antagonize one guy and ask him all of these questions. And the guy responded perfectly. Perfectly. I want you to watch this because what a brilliant response that this guy gave. Let's play this clip right here. Let me ask you, have you spoken to any people or can you speak to anybody that's marching right now and ask them what it is that they're marching about?
Yeah., Excuse, me., Can, you, tell, us, what are you here marching for? YEAH,, ABSOLUTELY., SORRY,, my, ears, are ringing a lot, so I I don't know if I'll hear perfectly, but um yeah, I'm just here cuz I think it's absolutely disgusting what ICE is doing here. I think it's absolutely important that they're kidnapping people. I'm disgusted that they murdered an innocent human being. And yeah, the entire thing just absolutely abhores me. This has to stop immediately. What I mean, like what we're seeing right now is frankly an ethnic cleansing. It's disgusting. It needs to stop.
And, I'm, I'm, glad, that, there's, so, many people out here trying to stop this cuz it's it's just important we together to stop this.
Does, he, have, a, concern, that, the, the woman was driving uh her car at an officer? Does it concern this individual? When you when you saw this video that is out, did you have any concern that it looked like this woman may have been driving her vehicle at the officer?
That's, not, what, it, looked, like, to, me, at all. And I mean like even if you did assume that was the case, which it absolutely is not. We have we are supposed to train officers to be responsible in these situations and judge the situation objectively, look at it reasonably. Like there just absolutely is no justification for this. But again looking at the video from both angles, I know that there was another clip that came out earlier today from like a different angle. You can very clearly tell that she is evacuating the scene.
There is like absolutely no evidence that there's like any like attempt to drive the vehicle into the officers.
Garrett,, last, question., What, should, we do with people that don't obey our laws and come into the country illegally? it. What do you think we should do with people that have come into the country illegally who are here is the question? I think they have the right to be here frankly. I mean, that's just my opinion but I think they have the right to be here. I think that's just a a basic human right is freedom of movement. We recognize that in the United Nations Charter that, in my opinion, is just a fundamental human right that all nations ought to recognize. And I'm glad that some people are standing up for that basic human right. And what's your instrument of choice?
Instrument, of, choice., I, JUST, FOUND, A BELL IN A BAG. Someone was handing out free stuff. So there we go.
All, right,, Garrett., Uh, and, finally, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant um was uh in Minnesota and while he was in Minnesota, he was at uh he he got a question, this was the other day from the small business person of the year. And she said, "Your tariffs are crushing us. Your tariffs are killing us. What should we do?" costs as a small to medium-siz business. We don't get the exceptions that Apple gets. We don't get the carveouts that the billionaires get. So, what do you expect us to do? And in his arrogant way, I just I want you to watch this cuz this is a small business owner channeling what Americans are feeling. And this just shows his arrogancy. Well, you should diversify.
Maybe you diver diversify. It's just a small business. What are you talking about? Here, play this clip and watch. My name is Beth Bencki. I am Minnesota's 2025 small business person of the year.
Congratulations. Thank, you. I'm, a, 10-year, Army, veteran, and, shortly after leaving the army, I had my first baby and I invented baby products. So, I am with Busy Baby and for eight years I've been growing that business here in southern Minnesota. This year in April on liberation day, I was severely affected by President Trump's Teros. When I started my business, I tried to manufacture in the US. I was too small. It was an unknown, unvalidated product. So this year, well, 2025, I spent a lot of time trying to find a way to manufacture in the US. There's nothing I would I would like more as a veteran and a proud American. However, my business is not big enough to manufacture in the US. I'm too big for the small shops and I'm nowhere near sizable enough to manufacture at the scale US manufacturers require.
And, so, your, question, is so, my, question, is, what, would, you, have, or what advice do you have for small American inventors, small American businesses who are kind of stuck in this place where there's no help available for us. We're not big enough, but we're all struggling and failing right now.
And, And, where, were, you, buying, from before? I've, always, had, my, products, manufactured in China.
Right., Uh, and, and, it, it's, food, or, toys or it, is, a, silicone, place, mat, that, stops babies from dropping and throwing their toys on the floor. So
well,, I, I I, would, I, I, would, I, I, would first of all, I'd diversify more because the the China tariffs are much higher than the rest of Asia. They're at about 48%. Many of the Asian deals are uh at 19. Um I I think with Mexico based on um USMCA there are a lot of items that are exempt. So and then you know I I as a financial person I am always in awe of manufacturers real real economy business people. So I am loathed to get of advice, but I I would try to come up with some kind of a buyers club where you you can get scaled. You can, you know, there there must be other people like you.
There, you, have, it,, folks., Thank, you, for watching. Have a great rest of your morning. Hit subscribe here. Help us get to 6 million subscribers and have a wonderful day. New Midas merch drop.
