Okay, so for anyone keeping count, the president's dire immigration policy has now been protested on the streets across the country.
More hate, no more fear. Immigrants are WELCOME HERE. IMMIGRANTS ARE welcome here.
In Italy's House of Parliament, protesting at the Lombardi Regional Council, Italy's leftist Democratic Party has a message.
We don't want Donald Trump's thuggish squads here, people who kill civilian citizens. We don't need them.
And at a pro wrestling event. I mean, that's a pretty diverse lineup unifying around the same core message. You're absolutely blowing it.
I am a registered Republican. My dad was the president of American Pipeliners Association, so I came by it rather naturally. voted for the president, supported him, but I really want to apologize. I mean, I'm looking at this awful picture of the Obamas. What an embarrassment to our country. All this man does is tell lies.
Now, here's the thing. Donald Trump has been booed before. sometimes at sporting events, sometimes at speeches. But something unusual just happened at a live all elite wrestling event in Las Vegas. A crowd more known for enthusiastic cheers than political coordination, they unexpectedly interrupted into a loud fisce chat. And if wrestling fans of all people are using pro sporting events to protest Trump's immigration policies, it's worth asking the question, right? Is the cultural tide really turning against the president?
See, at AWE's's televised Dynamite Wrestling show, the crowd made their voices heard. Their anger over federal immigration enforcement and the Trump administration was blatant. I mean, the moment was so unexpected, it even caught commentators off guard. And it wasn't like the Trump administration can downplay this as a fringe corner of a crowd chanting in a basement or a venue. It was televised live and caught national attention as an audible backlash against this administration.
They are and CBP uh are breaking their own protocols. you read them earlier, their own protocols and uh not only roughing people up but but literally shooting at people and killing them uh when in some cases they're US citizens and they're doing nothing wrong. So
So this is why I have said that the president is not following the law. Why Christy Gnome needs to resign or be impeached uh and why Trisha Mclofflin should not have the job that she has. She's a pathological liar. She's their spokesperson. Governor, you just
Now, I'm not going to sit here and make sweeping generalizations about the entire wrestling community, right? But would it be fair to say that most wouldn't expect a staunch anti-Trump message to erupt like an Olay Olay at a football match? I mean, think about it, right? The professional wrestling subculture has past ties to the Trump era going back decades.
I mean, wasn't Trump inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and even hosted major events for them? So, yeah, it's a different organization, but for a crowd, generations later, to reject his name with a chant directly tied to a policy that bears his imprint, then yeah, that's something worth paying attention to. It's not just noise.
So, since Donald Trump quote unquote took down the temperature, we have an ICE agent on video threatening, "You raise your voice, I erase your voice." You have agents trying to get into the Ecuadorian embassy because they think they can round up some illegals there. That's illegal based on international law. Told by someone who works at the consulate, back up. He says, "If you touch me, I'll grab you." Kyle Cheney at Politico has been tracking the cases um of folks who have been detained. found 2,300 cases since July alone where the judge has ruled that ICE has illegally detained someone.
This isn't the only place that fans have voiced displeasure related to immigration policy or federal enforcement at sporting events. Media reports indicate that anti-ICE chantss have cropped up at other sports match. It all reflects a broader social shift, right? People are increasingly linking everyday cultural spaces with civic protest against this administration. But don't just take it from the crowd at a wrestling event, right? Look at the polls of voters and people across the country, from Republicans to independents, from CNN to Fox News of all places. The message actually coincides with what we just heard at this wrestling event.
Your own poll has shown that everyday Americans have concluded that ICE has gone too far.
ICE efforts to deport illegal immigrants. If we ask um folks out there, uh too aggressive, 59%, not aggressive enough, 17 about right, 24%. That tracks with other polls that we've seen in recent days surrounding a lot of this video. U that obviously has come out and there's all kinds of people weighing in on all sides.
Okay, now this a new poll shows 59% of voters disapprove of President Trump's handling of the economy. That's his worst rating on the economy since he took office. That was back in 2017. Griff Jenkins joining us this morning.
Why are you laughing? Well, because listen, that's a terrible number Ste. Trump's immigration strategy that he boasted as the biggest in history is now woefully unpopular. It's even being pointed at as one of the reasons for the massive shift in the Texas local election that saw a deep red district that voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump back in 2024 flip blue.
That's exactly right. Texas 9. Texas 9. Because what happened in Texas 9, it didn't just swing to the left. It took a rocket ship to the left. My goodness gracious. The Texas 9 Senate District election marches. This was a district that Donald Trump won by 17 points in 2024. The Democratic candidate in the special election on Saturday. Hello. Won it by 14 points. That's an over 30 point shift to the left. Any Republican, unlike Ronda Santis who doesn't take this seriously, they should realize that this is very perilous.
Looking at Texas though, I mean, that should scare Republicans. That was the uh point that Ron DeSantis made in a post. You know, that seat, that state senate seat, um flipped. It was a district that the president won by 17 points and the Republican had outspent the Democrat there 20 to1. Um and still, you know, the Democrat took that seat. Rhonda Santis wrote, "Special elections are quirky, not necessarily projectable regarding a general election. That said, a swing of this magnitude is not something we that can be dismissed.
Republicans should be cleared eye cleareyed about the political environment heading into the midterms."
So, yeah, at a wrestling event in Las Vegas, fans chose to chant FCE, not for a storyline, but as a real reaction to federal immigration enforcement tied to Donald Trump. In the same way that voters who overwhelmingly sided with the president in the past chanted in the same way in protest at the voting booth.
Sure. So this 30point flip should really scare Republicans and really start to take notice here that Democrats are not it's not just Democrats voting for these people. It's independents and Republicans that are turning for these special elections. And like I just mentioned, Democrats have flipped 26 seats since the election in 2024. That is a reason. It is not has to do does not have to do with money and it does not have to do with the candidates that Dems necessarily are putting up although that will widen the map and more opportunities for Dems. It is about Donald Trump, the chaos he is creating and his failed economic policies. So if Republicans on the Hill especially are not taking note to how the how the president is impacting their races, they are going to have a very very rude awakening in November. It's a cultural feedback loop that we are seeing here and it's worth paying attention to
because it shows that we're at a breaking point where political sentiment breaches even the most unlikely entertainment venues and Trump clearly can't avoid it anymore.
He is not worthy of the presidency. He takes bribes blatantly and now he's being a racist blatantly. They were supposed to deport the dangerous criminals. They were not supposed to go after small children, storm schools, bring terror upon, you know, the little kids and the women and children, not just the immigrants in the school. All the children are scared. Um, this is not a decent man. This is not an honest man. He openly takes bribes. He's pathetic as a president. And I just want to apologize to everybody in in the country for supporting this rotten rotten man.
John, did you did you vote for him in all three elections? I did. I was sucked into the stupidity of creating jobs and and there are no more jobs in New Mexico. Things are worse than they were before. You cannot find a primary care physician. Our governor just passed some laws to try to help If you are a young physician, we want you in New Mexico. Come here. There's a great need for you.
