- Welcome to this episode of "Bit City." Hi, I'm Deb G, Angela's mom. You know, if I had my way, I would host this episode with a big '70s Italian wig, just like my family back in New York City. So, have a good time. Thanks. (bright music) (electricity buzzing) - Wow, I'm obsessed with Ellen! Thanks Mom. You heard it right, guys. We're taking pitches from our parents, our family, everybody is welcomed at the table in this "Bit City" episode. We let our family join the writer's room. Yep. And we're gonna watch what they asked us to pitch.

Like, my mom wanted me to wear a big, old '70s Italian wig. - It works. - It does. - And this is it, right? So we will be taking pitches similar to what just happened this entire episode. - What kind of establishment do you think I'm running here? Do you think I'm selling goat suckers? - Goat suckers? - There's sex toys in there. - I don't really do that floozy twirl shit, but here you go. - Whoa, whoa! - There you go. - This burger sucked. - [Tommy] Okay. Yeah. - That's some hard-ass bread. ♪ Your eggs say more about you than they think they do ♪ ♪ Yes, your eggs, your eggs ♪ ♪ Your eggs, your eggs, your eggs ♪ ♪ It's true ♪ ♪ Your eggs ♪ - With me, I have Chanse, Spencer, Anthony and Tommy.

- Hey. - Hello. (group clapping) - So you guys are on the couch because your parents pitched stuff. Are you excited? - This is my dad's dream. - I drew mailboxes. - [Chanse] Oh. - Can we pause? Oh, my God, we have a drawing! (Anthony laughs) - I'm so happy to bring it to life. - I'm so excited. I could tell that my dad was really into watching Smosh videos in like 2006, 2007, so I think that's probably the vibe that he's gonna be going with. - Anthony's trying to get a pet for Ian, and it's a capybara. Can you see that?

(everyone laughs) - He's got the picture! - I can't wait. - I think this could be the first Smosh video my mom watches. (Anthony laughs) - Yes! - That's awesome. - Hi, Spencer's mom. Welcome to Smosh. - Like, I know Spencer and all those guys, all their stuff's from the Goodwill or from 10 years ago. I'm like, "Is it just you?" And then I'm in LA and I'm like, "Okay, it's not just you." (group laughs) - I'm scared of what my mother said. - I like gay people. - Yes! - So we got two dads, two moms on the couch? That's awesome. - Two dads, two moms.

- That's good. - Dude, that meet-cute? - Two dads, two moms walk into a bar, and two dads and two moms walk out of a bar together. They're like swingers or shit. - Yeah. Yeah. - Yeah! (group claps) Yeah, that's a sketch right there. - Our parents are gonna punch it up. - [Angela] Anthony. - Yeah, my dad was very excited about this, so. - How did you pitch it to him? Were you like, "Hey, get on this call." - I was like, you know, I didn't want him to feel pressured, so I was like, "You know, you don't have to do it.

I told them there's like a 1% chance that you'd wanna do it. You don't have to do it if you don't want to." He was like, so interested. And I was like, "You know, like a sketch or something funny, something you've always wanted to see us do." And he was like, "Okay, I'm gonna take the night and think about it. - Oh! - And then in the morning, I'll have an idea for you." - Okay, I can't wait. - [Chanse] That's awesome. - Danny. Okay, let's play it. - Danny Padilla. - So. - Okay, Danny. - I have an idea. - Hell, yeah!

- Anthony's trying to get a pet animal for Ian, and it's a capybara. Can you see that? (everyone laughs) - He's got the picture! - But it's really, it's really difficult to say. So when he's calling the pet store, they have different animals or whatever. There's a chuca, chucabra, I think. - Chupacabra. - Chupacabra. - Yeah, it's a chupacabra. - It's literally a goat sucker. (laughs) It means... Chupa means sucks and cabras means goats. So it's a goat sucker. So, people keep messing it up. There's another one. - That's good!

- There's also a bird called kookaburra. (everyone laughs) - He's cooking, bro. - I'm obsessed! - He loves it. - He's so into it. He's like, "We got four animals that kinda sound the same." - [Chanse] Yeah. - "Let's go!" - Word plays, that's always gonna hit. - Yeah, yeah. - It's always kinda confusing. Yeah. - I always really respect someone when they're pitching something and they're laughing at it. - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - It makes you like it more. - I'm like, "You're bought in, I'm bought in." - Yeah. Like, he's so far, only listing animals, and I'm in.

- Yeah. - Yeah. - I'm (beep) in. - So when Anthony's calling around trying to get, you know, trying to get this animal for Ian, the people keep saying, "Well, is it a cupabara? Is it a chupacabra? Is it a kookaburra? Is it a cabra, like a goat?" (laughs) And you know what, this is real life too, 'cause I could see myself messing up and actually getting Anthony a goat, (Anthony laughs) a cabra, as opposed to a guinea pig, you know. And he's like, "So what is this?" "You asked for it. You asked for a cupabara." And he goes, "Well, you forgot the first part.

'Cause this is a cabra, which is a goat." (laughs) I think those are gonna be really hard to find, like, a real one. So I think at the very end, I guess maybe like, Anthony gets Ian a stuffed animal that looks like this. I don't know. - Button. - Yeah. - That, okay. I actually can't believe we're hitting different types of comedy unintentionally. Now we're doing word play. - I'm excited to watch that one first. - Yeah, it's like a who's on first. And at Petco it's like, "Well, you ordered a kookaburra, but you wanted a coochachabra."

It's so, I can't wait. - Coochiechabra. I'm sure you're familiar with coochiechabra, bitch. - Yeah, yeah. - Let's go, Danny! (jaunty music) (calm music) (Ian laughing) - Check this out. - What is this? - It's a capybara. - [Anthony] Okay. They run like 20 miles an hour, but I've been practicing and I'm pretty sure I could outrun 'em. Check it out. - Oh, wow. Oh! (Ian panting) Yeah. Oh, yeah, you could totally outrun one. Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, I think that if you had one, you could probably race it and you would probably win.

- It's too bad I'll probably never be able to race one. (sad violin music) Well, anyway, I'm gonna go get in line for lunch. - Okay. Save me a seat and I'll be right there. - You know I won't have to. Nobody sits next to me. (mellow music) (Anthony sighing) (phone dialing) (phone ringing) - Hey. Hey, stop eating that. (dog barking) Rancho Cucamonga. Rodents, reptiles, and really weird creatures. How can I help you? - Hi. Yeah, I'm looking for a pet for my friend. He's really sad, depressed. No one will sit next to him at lunch.

You know, I'm trying to cheer him up. I was wondering if you have a, oh God, I forget the name. Kookaburra, I think it was? - The terrestrial kingfishers? - The king what? - Yeah. It's kinda like a bird with an underbite. - No, no, no. It's definitely not a bird. It's a... It is a weird shape though. - It's a mammal? - Yes. Yes, I think it's a mammal. - Okay. Yeah, yeah. We got an okapi. It's kinda like a small forest giraffe. - No, it's definitely not a giraffe. It's got like no neck at all. It's a... (sighs) It's like a chupacabra maybe.

- Hey, whoa, whoa! - What? - What kind of establishment do you think I'm running here? You think I'm selling goat suckers? - Goat suckers? What? No! - Yeah, the creepy little reptilian dogs that run around plucking and sucking goats. - There's no plucking, no sucking going on over here, okay? I'm just trying to get an animal for my depressed friend. I think it was a coopaburra, maybe. - Am I a joke to you? (intense music) "Let's make fun of the guy who sells reject animals nobody wants," huh? You know what? Why don't I go in the back.

I think I got a Koopa Troopa and a Bowser for you. (beep) you, man. - Yes, yes, yes. It was a coopa-something. Do you have any animals there that are weird shapes, start with a C? - Oh! - It's like right on the tip of my tongue. - A cabra. - Ca- Yeah. Oh, it's like- - A cabra! - It's like a coo- - You're looking for a cabra! - A coop of cabras or something like that. - Okay. Yeah, yeah. - Coopacabra. - I got that for you, man. No problem. - Yeah. Okay, cool. I hope you're ready for your surprise! - Did you name a highway after me?

- Nope. Even better. - [Ian] What? - I got you a.... Surprise! What? - What's up, dude? - Oh. That's cool, I guess. - What? I thought you were a pet store owner. What is this? - Oh, we also sell kids toys. Yeah. Keeps their spirits high if their pets die. - Oh. - And cabra is goat in Spanish. - How's that relevant? - Yeah, I was trying to get you that animal that you showed me a video of. You were gonna race it. I was trying to make you feel better. - Oh! Capybara. - Capybara. - Capybara. - Capybara. - Capybara. - Capybara. - Bara. Yeah.

- [Anthony] Capybara. - [Ian] Capybara. - That's what it was. - Si! - Do you have one of those? Do you have one of those that you're... - No, they're illegal in California and they're rodent not a mammal. (Anthony groans) - So, you were wrong in kind of every way possible. - Nobody said it was a... What? I don't think that's- - I said it. I said it on the phone earlier. Yeah, I did say- - And rodents are mammals. - Don't tell me how to do my job, man. I'm the animal guy. - Oh, sorry. - [Anthony] Yeah. - Hey, look.

I feel kinda bad for you guys, so, got something for you. (toy squeaking) (Ian gasping) (soaring music) Wrested this out of a kid's hand at a birthday party I did a few months back. Been weighing on my conscience, so I knew I needed to get rid of it. Feels like the perfect moment. - Oh! - Wow! - Oh. It's kinda sticky. - Kids' hands are sticky, yeah. (mellow music) - Well, I guess it's the thought that counts. (Ian and Anthony laughing) (hands slapping) (soaring music) (sparkles tinkling) - What was that? - Shut the- (beep) (jaunty music) - This episode is sponsored by Lingopie.

Click the link in the description below. Now, back to the show. What I'm really excited about with this episode is we even let them pitch things that aren't sketches and more just like, what we're gonna do throughout the episode. And Spencer's mom pitched some fun main stage activities for us to do that I'm really excited about. Had Ellen ever seen an episode of "Bit City" before she pitched? - I have no idea. I don't think she watches games content. I think she'll see the clips, maybe. - What if she watched "Bit City" and not games?

- I would be- - Whoa! - [Tommy] That'd be awesome. - I would be livid. (everyone laughs) I would be pissed. - Okay, let's see what Ellen wants us to do right up top. - Okay, but this is kinda one of my favorite ones. - Pause! - [Chanse] Are those presidents in the background? - [Angela] Are those presidents in the background? - Yeah, she lives in Washington DC. - [Angela] Look at her. (Chanse gasps) - Oh. - She went all in. She loves a theme. - [Tommy] Oh, she's a cutie. - [Chanse] She looks like she's about to go to a tennis match, and I love it.

- I'm so excited. Okay. - Like a fashion show with Smosh people. Like, okay, like exactly with what you have on today, right? And they wouldn't know, but you have to like, walk down a runway and somebody would be commentating. Or maybe you'd even have to commentate about yourself and you're like, you know, "Yeah, I got ready in three minutes today. I threw all my... My hair wasn't looking its best." I mean, I'm not funny like that, but you guys can make it funny. You know, like, I know Spencer and all those guys, all their stuff's from the Goodwill or from 10 years ago.

And it's like, you know, "I've got this nice hole here." I mean, no offense, but I can't believe. I know, and I'm like, "Is it just you?" And then I'm in LA and I'm like, "Okay, it's not just you." (Anthony and Angela laugh) - Pause. Pause. - Your mom thinks you dress like shit. - No, she really, she loves me though. Doesn't matter, bro, she loves me. - I like how she roasted all of LA as well. - Yeah, that's true. - No, but truly, like, anytime there's like a hole in a shirt or anything, she finds it immediately, and she's like.

(button beeps) - My mom does that too. - Yeah. Yeah. - [Chanse] Well, look at how prim and proper she is. - My mom is very preppy. - Of course. Yes. - Very, very preppy. - Yeah, I'd love for him to play like a... As his mom, a preppy little, like, in like a Lilly Pulitzer jacket. And, you know, it's like, put people in the opposite of what they are or something. Or like, if parents could dress their kids. Even if you did it on like a... 'Cause it would be expensive, the outfit I'd wanna put him in. But, you know, something like that would be very funny.

- Burberry. - 'Cause I'm sure your mom would like to see you in like a, I don't know, you know? We wish we could dress our kids again. - Aw! - And then, okay, so, the hamburger one, which, I fricking love all that kind of stuff, but I don't know if that's too much of a game. - So, pause. - Do we have clarity on what the hamburger one is? - I think she's gonna explain it. If I had to guess, it's something, she, like, she's always like, "Oh, you guys should, like, try different, like, hamburgers." - Wow, that's actually crazy. She's pitching YouTube videos.

- Yeah. - Yeah. - She watches- - [Angela] She know the format. - Yeah, she watches, like, Mythical. - Yeah. It's also funny that how your mom and my mom both pitched on things they want changed about our appearance. - Yeah. - And we'll just let that sit, so. (group laughs) - But you know, like, In and Out Burger, Wendy's, McDonald's, I swear to God I could win it. I love a good burger, but I also am picky about a burger. The hard thing is if I saw it, then I'm gonna obviously know what it is. So like, if I felt it, I'd be like, "Okay."

Or, but I guess that's all part of it. Like, Burger King, you can smell a Whopper. Oh my God, you guys are so cute. I love what you do. - I think this could be the first Smosh video my mom watches. - I love what you do. I really love what you do. - Can she see us right now? - Aw. Yeah, that, I was like, "Right now? Thank you." - I was like, "What?" - [Angela] You think we're cute? - Where is she? - Wow! I'm obsessed with Ellen! (group clapping) - That was so cute. - [Tommy] Ellen! - Ellen! - Burger Ellen. - Burger Ellen.

Okay, we're gonna do everything Ellen told us to do. We're gonna start with a fashion show of what we're all wearing today. Then we're gonna have a fashion show of things that our parents want us to wear. And then we're gonna try to guess some burgers. - That sounds good. - That's awesome. - Sounds like a YouTube video. (everyone laughs) - And then we're gonna guess some burgers, wrap it up, it's a YouTube video. It fits in. Yay! - Yay! (group clapping) - Okay guys, we're about to do a fashion show. And with me, I thought it would be only appropriate if I have another mom from our cast here.

Please welcome Olivia's mom! (group clapping) (upbeat music) How are you? - I'm obsessed with Angela. - I love you so much! You're one of my favorite people. So, do you have strong... - Okay. - We're sorta already filming on a bunch of other cameras, so. - Okay. Smile over here. (phone camera clicking) Yeah! - Okay, Olivia's mom, here's the thing. - Yeah, look. - Oh, I already- Oh, it's in portrait mode. Okay. We're gonna look at what our friends are wearing and as a mother, you're just gonna let your opinions run free.

Ready to see our first person's outfit? - I can't wait. - Please welcome Spencer! (Angela and Olivia clap) (rap music) There he is! - Thank you, thank you. - Okay, so- - A pose! - This is Spencer. - [Spencer] Yeah. - This is Spencer. You guys have a little thing. - We have a thing. - This is Spencer. - I'm not actually sure if I've met Olivia's mom. - Are you wearing shoes? - Yeah, so let's see these shoes, bud. (scary music) - Birks. My house shoes that I wear out. - Exposed sock. - [Spencer] Yeah, it's kind of a- - [Angela] Yeah, Olivia's mom, she's gonna take a- Oh, she's gonna do a hug.

- (censored) yeah. - [Olivia] Oh. (sensual music) - What's interesting about this, it seems like it's half cuff up on the sleeves, or is that just on accident? - Just on accident. - Seems like everything about this outfit is on accident. - Is this real? - Yeah. Do you like 'em? Do you like the tattoos? - Oh, he's making me blush. (Angela guffaws) - I love the jeans. I will say, Spencer, I do think you have good taste. Like, it's hard to kinda roast you. I think you have good taste. - So here's the funny thing. Your daughter, Olivia.

- She's so wonderful. She's perfect. - Perfect woman. - So funny and incredible. - Perfect. - She brought Sam to the holiday party and I was like, "Sam, I love those jeans." And he was like, "Oh, thanks. This is the Abercrombie model." And he showed me what they were, and I went home and I ordered 'em. These are them. - Are these them? - These are them. - [Olivia] Wow. - Are these they? - Give us a twirl. Give us a twirl. - Yeah. (pop music) - I was like, "Well, it's a fun, like, vintage fit." - Yeah. And this is a perfect shirt.

- I was gonna say, if Angela roasts my outfit at all... - It's hypocritical. - I'm like, "Bro, you would wear this." - Angela has that shirt. - Spencer and I basically dress exactly the same. I think I wash my clothes a little bit more. - My clothes are, I... (scary music) I wash my clothes weekly. - Are you wearing any underwear? - Yes. - That's good. - That's good. That's the bare minimum. Well, thank you so much, Spencer. - Thank you. Thank you, everybody. - Do you guys want a picture together? - Yes! - [Olivia] Yeah.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Can you do portrait mode? - Yeah. - Yeah. - We like portrait mode, natural lighting. - Moms love portrait mode. - Moms love portrait mode. - Oh! - [Angela] Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa. - Oh! Whoa, whoa! Okay, haven't been touched like this in a long time. (phone camera clicks) - [Angela] Whoa. (upbeat techno music) - Please welcome Chanse McCrary. (both clapping) - [Olivia] (gasps) Chanse! (upbeat techno music) - [Angela] Whoa! - [Olivia] Wow! - Whoa! A Dress-To-Impress pose. (upbeat techno music) - Zara model.

- I'll take it. - He hates Zara for some reason. I love Zara. - H&M model. - That's worse. (crew laughs) - My favorite brand is Uniqlo. - Okay, Uniqlo, sometimes. - You like Uniqlo? - Yeah. - More than Zara? Let's start with, I'm obsessed with these workering, worker pants. - Workering! - Working pants. - [Olivia] High waisted. - What are mom's opinions about high-waisted? My mom hates 'em. - It helps me suck in my belly. - Exactly. - [Olivia] Yeah. - And let's see the sock. He's really particular about his sock. - [Chanse] They're random. - Navy.

Wow, your ankles are so perfect. - So we're not commenting on people's bodies, right? - No, that's fine with me. - We're actually just commenting on the clothes, right? Okay, so let's look at all the jewelry. I'm obsessed with your harmonica necklace. - Thank you. - Oh, it's a- Can you play a song? - [Chanse] Yeah. (harmonica squealing) - What do you think of that? - It's so beautiful. - That's for you. - [Olivia] You're so talented. - [Chanse] Thank you. (sensual music) And you're so young and beautiful. - Thank you. - You're welcome.

- [Olivia] You are too. - [Chanse] Thank you. - Do you guys want a picture together? - Yes. - Yes! (sighs) Portrait mode! - Yeah, you got it. - Natural light, please. Let's hit play. - Well, first of all, I used to work for the post office. I just retired. And I had one incident happen in my first few years, where I was in a lobby of a condo.

Elderly people are waiting for the mailman, 'cause could be news and things like that. So they're all congregating. And this one lady was just insisting to get her mail. "I'm 117. I'm 117." And I turned around and said, "You don't look a day over 90." - Hey. - And then everybody laughed in there, but she was pissed (Anthony and Spencer laugh) and left. But you know, stuff like that. And the scene, I guess, would be the mailman would come in through the door and then there would be conversation, and he would be putting the mail in and then he would leave. That's the set. So it'd be one room, and wouldn't be a whole lot of stuff. - Frugal. - By the way, we did end up making these mailboxes. It's a flat, like, fabrication, so they don't actually open, and we didn't really even utilize them in the sketch. But it was important that we made them. - Yeah. - Yes. - So that my dad goes, "Good, there are mailboxes there." (group laughs) "That used to be my job. Mailboxes." So. - Like, I imagine you got Shayne and Tommy and all those people dressed. - We got Shayne? - And they're sitting there and then they can be like, "Oh, the mailman just pulled up. What's he doing?

What's taking him so long?" And, "Oh, he's getting packages. We got packages! Yay!" (Tom claps) - That was a Tommy "yay." - I was gonna say that! - An then the mailman would come in and, "Alright, everybody leave the mail alone. I got a couple of trips to make." - The voice work. - "You can't help yourself. I have to scan this." And so I wrote this one thing, this one box. I'll have Mrs. Smith, and I have her sign for it. And then she whispers, "Did you look in the box?" And I was, "No, I'm not allowed to do that."

"Well, if you did, there's sex toys in there. Do you have any batteries?" So I'm just... (group laughs) And then the ladies- - Pause! - [Tom] I've had this happen. - This is it. This is good. This is good. - [Tommy] Yeah. - We got a joke! - Yeah. - We got a joke, everybody. - And I'd be putting the mail in and the ladies are sitting back there giggling, and I'm talking 80-year-old ladies. And they're like, "You know how tanned your legs are? Look at the muscles on that." - Oh. - And, "Don't mind us. We're just helping our heart beat a little faster."

We don't have this, we have pepper spray for the dogs, but I was thinking of some kind of belt, which you can make it like a bat belt. - Yes! - With a couple of compartments on it and have the spray on there. And as he's done with the mail and everything and he opens up the one that says "Emergency" and takes some Sweet'N Low and toss it over into the corner, and then all the elderly people are gonna run over there and get the Sweet'N Low as he slips out the front door. - That's pretty good. - It's pretty good. - Tom Bowe, everybody!

- Sorry. (jaunty music) - Okay. Now, like Ellen said, we're gonna do the burger portion of the episode. We are going to try to identify what burgers are what without the senses. She mentioned that the senses will give them away, so they have Mickey gloves on, and you have a nose plug if you'd like it. Here are the five burgers you will be getting, not in this order. The Habit, Red Robin, Burger Kinger, Carl's Jr, or Shake Shack. Okay, let's bring out the first burger. Okay, guys, manhandle that burger and figure out where it's from.

- Okay. - Okay. - Ah. - [Olivia] Oh. - All I did was tongue a pickle. - That sounds like a vegan. - A whatever burger. - I think I can get a taste- (Angela laughs) - It's called Whataburger. - [Anthony] All I'm getting is pickle and lettuce. - I got a lot of pickle and a lot of lettuce. - Was that just a patty? - What happened with yours, guys? (hands clap loudly) (crew laughs) When you hear my voice, clap once!

(Olivia claps) - We have gloves on. Yeah. - Tommy? - This feels like a burger that isn't their main thing that they do, but maybe one of the many things. I'm going Red Robin. Uncle Robin. - Okay, you will not know if you were right till the end of this. (bell dings) - Whoa!

- Sounds great. - Damn. - Three, two, one. - One. - Bite. - Okay, I put the love in my mouth! - I'm eating my glove! (Angela laughs) Why is this so crusty?
