My god, CALEB WILLIAMS IS SPECIAL. HE'S SPECIAL. I MEAN, THIS MIGHT be the most spectacular play you'll see all season. I'm going to let you see it, then we going to break it down. Game on the line. Fourth quarter, down by seven. What the hell? Is there even somebody down there? Touchdown. Special. But now, let's break down the play, people, cuz the beauty is in the details. All right, game on the line at the 14 yard line down by seven. Right now, they're in a zone, but it's a pattern match zone. So, it plays off where individuals have man. He has the man that's now in his zone. He's doubleteamed. He's singled. He's double teamed. Right now, Caleb Williams back is to the picture. He ain't missing nothing cuz covered. Double teamed.

Double teamed. Covered. Back is to the other 21 players on the football field. You realize how ridiculous that is? Dude's whole back is turned. He has no idea what's going on right now. He flips his head around at the 40 yard line off his back foot. He grabs a snapshot, a picture, and what he sees is a one-on-one. Mind you, when he turns around, he sees all of this, but sees a one-on-one. And off his back foot, he lets it rip. But here's the beauty of this play. This isn't luck. Be quiet. If anybody tells you a slug, tell them be quiet. It's not luck. When Caleb throws this, understand Caleb can only throw this in a certain area. Because if he throws it short, it's broken up. So, he has to throw it about five yards. That's the five yard window he has to throw that football.

Caught. Touchdown. Special. Special, y'all. Down by seven. GAME ON THE LINE. SPECIAL. ALL RIGHT. Caleb has some highs, but he also has some lows. Now, let's take a look at the interception that lost the game. But before we take a look at it, here's Caleb Williams after the game talking about it.

Um, yeah, I got to go got to go back and watch it. Obviously, don't don't seen it and don't really know. Um, uh, but from in the moment, you know, saw the saw the front side safety down, front side of concept. um you know, end up getting uh hemmed up a little bit and so uh moved on um and and and had had uh DJ uh going over top over all of it. Uh just a mis mis miscommunication between him and I uh tried to flatten him off under the safety and and uh he he kept it vertical from you know what I saw on you know obviously in the moment.

I got some important information for y'all. There's no better place to win cash while watching sports than prize picks. Football season is here and basketball season is here. So, there's absolutely no better time to join. It's super easy to use. To create a lineup, all you got to do, select a few player stats, pick more or less. That's literally it. Prize Picks is available in more than 40 states, including California, Texas, my home state, and Georgia. But my favorite thing, Prize Pix is going to give you $50 in lineups when you make your first $5 lineup.

What's that mean? Win or lose, you get 50 bucks in lineups for free. Just download the app and use promo code speak easy today. Five bucks gets you 50 bucks in lineups. Prize picks. It's good to be right. Remember three things. One, saw the front side safety down. TWO, HE TRIED TO FLATTEN him off. And three, miscommunication on all of it. Now, let's take a look at the tape. All right. Caleb hasn't been able to look at the tape, but we have. Remember the three things. One, he said the front side safety was down. What's the front side safeties talking about? Front side safeties down. two, he says he's tried to flatten DJ Moore off. Well, let's look at how the play breaks down. So, here is DJ Moore right here, and DJ Moore is running like this deep over route. What you see from the Rams, it looks to me almost like a version of cover.

Honestly, it looks maybe like a version of a half field. Two high safety look, half field safety. So, this DJ Moore is going to try to occupy this safety. Here's a problem. Caleb says he's tries to flatten DJ off. What's he mean by that? He's trying to flatten DJ Moore off with the football. He wants DJ Moore to come flat with this football. Where's the miscommunication? DJ Moore keeps it high. Caleb wants DJ to flatten. DJ keeps it high. That's how you have a pick. Now, what's interesting and what I've heard talking to some offensive players, even Shady McCoy would say that DJ Moore is running what we call the log route. Love it a game route. Hey DJ, you're not going to get the ball on this play. DJ, just come clear out this backside safety. Assuming Caleb is really going to heave it to this dude.

Now, in theory, that could work because if DJ clears out this safety, Caleb could take what looks to be a doomsday one-on-one behind this safety. Like, in theory, there is a world where you're going to occupy this safety with DJ and then you're going to hit behind that safety. DJ Moore doesn't give maximal effort miscommunication and that's how the cookie crumbles. Tries to flatten him off. He sees the front side safeties down, but what DJ what what Caleb doesn't realize. I think Caleb gets confused. He said he saw the front side safety down, but here's the problem. Kobe Durant, cornerback, is dropping into a too high look. So, you're still getting a version of a too high safety defense. That is where I think Caleb Williams got confused. He got confused because he probably thought it was single high, not realizing, oh nah, bro. It's too high. This safety has half the field. So, you're throwing this

long over route into a half field safety. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Let's take a look at some more of the interceptions. Again, there were some highs in this game for Caleb Williams, but there were obviously some lows as well. I believe this was the first interception of the game is fourth and two. You're going into your own end zone. They're sitting in zone coverage. Here's where I think Caleb can grow moving forward. Right now, it's all a numbers game in football. You got two on two boundary side of the screen, man. Man, this is the side if you're Caleb Williams. You got two on two that I would assume you'd want to work. Top the screen is four over three. One, two, three, four, is four over three.

You don't have numbers there. You got numbers here. I like a doomsday on a linebacker all day, every day. Went on the whip route. He's won. Hell, in all honesty, I think he won a couple times, but like clean pocket, went on the whip route. But instead, you take the four over three side. Fourth and goal, fourth and two rather, turns into a pick. We know how special Caleb is. I've already already shown you how special Caleb is. I want to see Caleb win from the pocket. I want to see Caleb win cerebrally. Hey, it looks like they're in cover four.

Looks like they're locking the backside. Looks like they're boxing the front side. Obviously, it's not a cover four because it's a it's a fiveman rush. So, playing four over three, playing twoon two. I want to see Caleb win cerebrally. Let's take a look at Caleb Williams third interception. Defense. Another two high look. This actually looks like the exact same defense they were in on Caleb Williams overtime interception. They got him again with it. They got Caleb Williams with this same defense twice. The interception to close the game and the interception here. It's hardly even inverted. They're really just in traditional two. Half field.

Half field. Caleb Williams sees. Oh, wait. He doesn't see this corner sinking. Corner has eyes. Durant sneezy pick. It's an easy pick. This got to be on Caleb. Pockets clean. It's a fourman rush with a 10 stud up front. Tackle goes first and loops around. Middle run through player. Flat defender. Flat defender. Halffield safety. Caleb never sees it. Never sees it. That's on Caleb. I believe both the endame losing interception and this interception. I just think Caleb got confused by the coverage. He just doesn't realize this too. never sees a DB. That's the kind of stuff Caleb has to get better at. We know he's special. We know he's special, but can you play from the pocket? That's the next level of growth. These next couple plays going to be harder for y'all to see. It's snowing, but if Caleb can play through it, y'all can watch Tape through it. Scrambling outside the pocket one-on-one down here. It's a

really good play. 23 yard pickup in this weather cuz this is as bad as it gets weatherwise. coverage. What we in playing two on two down here, three over two up top. Attacks the right side numerically. Gets outside the pocket. Deep come back on time. Really good job. Really good by Caleb. But do y'all notice what I notice? Caleb at times is much more comfortable off script and outside the pocket than he ever is on time and inside the pocket. Let that sink in for a moment. When he's outside the pocket, game-winning drive play right here. Savage. But inside the pocket, that's where Caleb has to grow.

That's where Caleb has to develop. Boy, I love this tape. I'm glad here. Only a couple more plays left. This to DJ Moore. I think he cooks inside the pocket here. Let's see what we're in. Goal line. Man across the board. Man across the board. Going to be hard to see. Man, they pass it off. They get bumped into each other. Caleb backpedaling back foot. Finds him again. Hard to see if Caleb can play through it though. Y'all can watch through it. They get picked down here. Bottom of the screen. Caleb back foot. Touchdown.

That's good stuff. I mean, in this weather, y'all can tell the weather terrible. Really good stuff. Caleb back foot arm strength dart touchdown. He rarely ever shows off this ability. Looks looks very cover two-ish. Looks like the Rams almost sat in cover two the majority of the game. He looks like our middle runner. Halffield safety, half field safety, flat defender. Caleb shouldn't be able to take off like this in cover two because in zone defense, the majority of the defender's eyes are on the quarterback. like his eyes on Caleb. Eyes on Caleb. Eyes on Caleb. Eyes on Caleb. You got four dudes eyes on Caleb. Guess how to make a miss.

Take off. Don't go out of bounds. Take off. Like that, bro. The pickup 26 yards scrambling versus cover two. Special fourman rush. Rush wins. Make Jared verse miss. Get out of there, Caleb. Special, man. Special. Then this last one doesn't get talked about enough. It's third and four. Overtime. Caleb, need you to do something. Need you to be special, Caleb. Make a guy miss. I mean, defender ends up unblocked because of a miscommunication. I don't know why that tackle comes off so easily. So now defender's unblocked. It's third and four. Caleb, be greater than your greatest excuse.

Gets outside the pocket and then y'all see that acceleration. I did not hit fast forward. The bar doesn't move any faster. Caleb does. Boom. When Caleb decides he's tucking and running and he makes the decision here because he turns up field, but he can't throw it. He says, "I'm going to put my head on the foot, my foot in the ground, get up field." Bomb. Phenomenal job. Look, Caleb's special. There's no way around it. But here's what we need to see in the offseason. Caleb grow from the pocket. Outside the pocket, maybe the best quarter, second best quarterback in football to Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen. Inside the pocket, if he can level up his game, just get to a B level from inside the pocket. Outside the pocket, he an A+.
