Crown is mine. Well, [clears throat] in in typical slump dog fashion, I've I've been hot in in in Calgary, Merles. So, I'm here in Calgary. Penguins playing Calgary. So, here I am in Western Canada. Cadri, we got him, bud. The old slump dog. Speaking of DraftKings, I saw the Vegas insider hit his anytime goal scorer last night. He literally
game. Yeah. So, everyone's everyone's wearing the crown. Um, and a little bit later tonight. Great. It's great being back in Calgary. It was awesome, man. I get I I'm going off the plane the other day. we land from Seattle and uh the other night [clears throat] we get in and and like the guy like that's checking our passports and stuff like doing customs. He's like, "Army, what's up? Welcome back to Calgary. You're on beauty, bud." Just the like I was like, "Oh my god, this is crazy." But uh yeah, it's good to be home. Good to be home.
Merles, this is like Calgary to me is like when I was a kid, we my grandparents are from here and I have some family here and cousins and stuff and we used to come here all the time. So, it's like it's awesome. I got to go to dinner last night with a very like one of my best friends, him and his wife. Cool to see them, catch up, have a nice dinner. And um and then the cool thing about being out here too, Merles, is like the late games are done at 10:30.
So, I like shut off. It's like unbelievable. I just shut off the game. Like I watched the I was flipping back and forth between LA Rangers later at like just ready to settle in. I had the I had the Devils I had the Oiler game on. Little pre-cout for tomorrow. Devils pulled off another one. But I just it was ended and then I was like I looked at the clock. I'm like what the [ __ ] It's not 1:00 in the morning. Like what are we doing here? Crazy. killing me here because the the security guard at my daughter's school is an old uh RPI employee that I know and he's a Vegas Golden Knights fan and every night I come stumbling in with my kid and he's like, "You stayed up for the game again, didn't you?" I'm like, "Yeah." And it went to overtime. I was up till 1:30 in the morning.
Vegas loves going to OT, too. Jesus. Do they lead the league in overtimes? Overtime games.
Yeah. Like them are the Penguins. I think there's a couple of like but they love they love OT.
Love it. Love it. They love going killing me. Every time I'm like all right I'm not watching it tonight. I'm not watch I'm going to bed after the after the second period. I just get roped in and then uh yeah that's why you get a voice like this non-stop. But I've also been moving in Army and I love stories. I love these stories.
I want to get into this before I forget. Um, you know, I boxed up my my parents' bedroom, I don't know, 20 years ago, and I haven't looked in these cases, and I'm just finding treasures beyond treasures. And I didn't even know half the stuff I had. My parents came to every game for Wilsberry. You know, they came on the road, they came at home. So, they went and got all this different stuff for me. And I didn't even know I had it. And the first one I unboxed was this one right here. Sebastian Kon bobblehead.
No way. There it is. was Salmon. Salmon was his name. Next one up, I find Thomas Serovi who um you know he was a sniper. I end up playing with him in Bratoslava. So that was pretty
Cho. Cho Cho. We called him. Cho Cho. Apparently Cho means what in Slovakian. Yeah.
And uh he would say that all the time cuz and he spoke super fast. So he cho Cho Cho. What? Like he couldn't understand us. Like you know when the dog turns their head sideways. So I guess the guys gave him the name Cho. Cho great.
Yeah, that kid gets sniped. And then this one. Wilsberry legend Andy Kyota. Chico.
Chico. Legendary playoff runs with him. Cheeser. Yeah, I was chatting with him yesterday. He's got his goalies going pretty good here with the Penguins.
Look at that mask. Even goes up and down. A legendary run, man. That was unbelievable the run he was. He like took Flurry's net.
Yeah. Way go back. I know we joke about me calling things and inventing things. Ask Whitney. I had a I had a running bet with Whitney that whole lockout year, the year before, the lockout year. I go I go, Kyoto will be our goalie in the playoffs. He's like, "Are you stupid? We got Flurry here. He's number one. We had this guy here." I'm like, "Trust me, Kyoto will be and what happened? Kyoto end up being our goalie in the playoffs."
That kid caught so much fire. Like it was insane. Like he couldn't get scored on. He was on top of the world.
Our emotional warrior he was too in the dressing room. Just a beauty. So good to see he's doing well now. Goalie coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Yep. And then I mean obviously those those relate to you, but these next two really relate to you.
And I don't know why I have this one. Who's that? Jason Learbara. Yeah. Yeah, buddy. Go coach for the Calgary Flames. It's all coming together now.
But yeah, so my parents must have went to that when we played Harford and this must have been it and they just threw it in my room. But if you remember, this is who I scored the goal against. Game seven OT Eastern Conference final with a pass from you.
Yeah. Little shot tip at the net. Merles with the walk-off celebration. Invented the walk-off. We all know that.
Another one. A real invention by me. And then so I'm digging through and I swore there was an army bobblehead. I've been waiting three years since probably we started this show. I'm like, I have this arm dog bobblehead somewhere. I need to get it for my background, which is still obviously a work in progress. But I was digging around and that there wasn't a bobblehead.
No. Yeah. Yeah. A little figurine right here. That's under Did you Was it in a package when you got it? Should you take that out? Isn't it worth more when it's in a package?
Yeah. This one I I This one was on its own like this. The other ones were in the boxes and styrofoam, but I just threw them all.
You get that at good You get them at Goodwill. Just I don't think I'm getting very much for a Thomasi bobblehead right now.
No, I know. I know. You have like a cool little uh personalized collection of like your old buddies and teammates. That's awesome. Hey, action figure though.
But but like typical non-hockey people, you're left-handed in this. Yeah, that's true actually. Yeah, got it right.
It's unreal how they make these mistakes. But um yeah, it was really fun finding all that stuff. So [snorts]
yeah, that's like And how's the move in going? Are you is your So your mom is making you because my mom made me do this, too. She hoarded and collected a bunch of my stuff or I would also like leave stuff with her. But they have collectionary little momentos like those things that you found. And my mom has this big these Tupperwares in like my closet in my basement where my bedroom was that she just kind of puts [ __ ] like my prospects game like like that letterman jacket with the leather sleeves when you were in the prospects game and like different little things like that that you don't necessarily wear. Like I think I have like a hundred games played leather jacket from the NHLPA. remember when you got like little gifts when you got that done?
Um and and so she's like, "Hey, like you know it's been long enough since you haven't lived here. Like come get your your [ __ ] out of here. Like or look through it. Like what do you want? What can we get rid of? Like I I want to probably clean out this stuff.
I have like old sticks signed by Wade Redden from like when he was in Banttom at a Banttom tournament. A broken old like Sherwood wood stick with the blade snapped off that I got him to sign. Pulled it out of the garbage can like a little hockey rat. He'd probably want that back. That's kind of cool.
Yeah, it's like a Jared stole wooden coho that he used when he was in Midgeta when he was 15 and like lit up the Saskatchewan midgeta league. It was awesome. So, you have all these things in there. Is that what your mom's having you do is go through all this stuff?
Well, it was years ago and she's like, "Pack up your room." And she wanted me to go through this stuff and I don't know, of course, I didn't want to waste time doing that. So, I just got these huge trunks and I just put everything in there and like I'll deal with it later on. and and now I'm I'm finally dealing with it. So, throwing away a lot of stuff, keeping some stuff, but uh I thought everybody would enjoy it that little trip down memory lane of the Wilsberry Scranton Penguins
and what Wilsberry Scranton Penguins Witsberry Scranton P remember that song? Oh, yeah. I
I got I'm I'm waiting. I know I have that CD somewhere. I'm waiting for that to pop up.
DJ Kenny was his name. beauty. The the chef at uh chef, whatever you want to call him, that Marina Bar and Grill.
Yeah, those were the days, buddy. Those are some good finds. Some nice treasures for you, buddy.
I love it. Good job. Um, let's move it over. Let's get G on here. See what he's been up to.
I think G's been really busy by the looks of it. I mean, he's What a What a run you've been on lately.
Been a Been a bit of a run. Been a bit of a run. So, t it was I think I said it last show, but crazy week last week. Tuesday, Tuesday night hit the Bruins. Thursday hit Char's retirement ceremony. Friday wedding in jersey on the Jersey Shore. Saturday wedding in Philadelphia. And then on Saturday, I get the text and it's like, "Hey, shout out to DraftKings. Shout out to our great friends at DraftKings." I get the text from MB at Bartool who who manages the DraftKings connection and she's like, "Hey, DraftKings has two tickets to the Patriots game on Sunday. Do you want them?" I'm like, "Well, [ __ ] I got a wedding tonight, but I'm going. No question about it. I'm going." Woke up at 3:00 a.m., made my made my wife sit in the car. She slept the whole way.
Left the wedding early, and I got to see my Patriots win a huge, beautiful Winter Wonderland snowy playoff game at Gillette Stadium. It was incredible. I got to tailgate with all my buddies before I didn't So, it was crazy, too. So, I was rolling up and I'm like, all I had is suits cuz I just went on I went on this trip and all I had was two suits, dress shoes and a pair of sweatpants and and a pair of like light running shoes. And I'm like, I don't know what to do. So, I called my little brother and I'm like, "Hey, you got to break into my apartment." So, he had to like scale a fence, pop open my window, climb like climb up two stories on the side of my house, climb through my window, grabbed a bunch of stuff for me.
Then I get to the field. I get to the stadium like hoodies and winter jackets and everything.
Hoodies, winter jackets, long sleeves, sweatpants, all stuff to wear under under my gear and uh forgot shoes. Didn't bring shoes. All I had was the dress shoes. Some kid in the uh at the Gillette Stadium parking lot is like, "You can take my Tims here. Wear my Tims." So he gives me his Tims and I just uh so now I got a random guy's pair of Tims. So
wow. Unbelievable. In um Shaw Shank Redemption, uh Andy Drain famously says as he's walking out the night before he breaks out and he has a nicely shined pair of shoes, walking back to his his uh cell, he says, "No one really notices the shoes a man wears and breaks out of uh prison the next day through a mile of shit." So, you could have worn the shoes and got away with it. No one would have noticed.
But that's pretty sick. What a weekend. What a run, buddy. How's the mud gut going?
It was sick. Oh, the gut is just brutal. But it was it was awesome cuz I have so I have this uh good luck jersey that I've worn for every Patriots Super Bowl since like 2014. It's uh this like military Tom Brady jersey. It's I've never washed it. It's covered in throw up blood. Everything you could imagine. It is just drenched in this. And I'm going through my back right before my wife dropped me off to uh get out of the car to run to the tailgate. going through this bag in my car. I was just looking for something and at the bottom of the bag, I see the jersey just sitting there. So, I grabbed the jersey, threw it in my pocket, ended up throwing it on and I got to wear the lucky jersey. So,
wow, it worked. Feel great right now. Maybe that's my mistake. I keep washing my Bills sweatshirt. I probably shouldn't have washed it.
Yeah, welling. Yeah, tough times for your Bills right now, Merles. Jesus. Tough tough. We're on
firing the coach was a good thing. Do you you posted a video you're like kind of okay with it, but I don't know if you think it's good.
I I I would have been other years. This year I thought he was all right. This game he was all right. He did everything he had. The players, we had no players. Everybody got hurt and then we didn't address any of it. It was uh
And then how about Pigula in the press conference? He's like throwing the coaching staff under the bus for drafting Keon Coleman who's still on the roster. Like Keon Coleman had to hear that and been like what the [ __ ]
Yeah, he's been a disaster the whole time. But it does go back to that. Whoever I don't know if whoever made that decision. I don't think the real answer is
Kyle in the chat. Ref screwed the Bills. Yeah, that's I mean that's obvious. Um but they should have drafted Xavier Worthy instead of Coleman. But they and then they the worst part is they made a trade with Kansas City. You don't trade with a team you can't beat.
No. And and Merl, did you see the clip that came out today of them at the draft and obviously the Bills and Pagola released this, but they're at the draft. Keon Coleman runs a slow 40 yard draft and they're like, "Yes, yes, now he'll fall to us." It's like, why why would you want the receiver that you're potentially going to draft to run a slow 40?
It's insane. It's the Bills. It's what we do. We just lose. We lose in the worst ways. I would just can we once just lose 41 to6 like the 49ers. So it's not a heartbreak. It's a heartbreak. I end up having to rewatch the game each time like thinking it's going to change. I've done it five years in a row now. I'm like that didn't just happened to us again.
So Merles um I think Dave said they're officially the most losing organization in all of sports. Like it just put to bed now like a cherry on top of like their history. But like um with the with the the blown calls and and then you look at the coach's record like he has like a sick record but don't you think if you're there like long enough and you don't get it done like it don't you think like sometimes it's okay to refresh it like you know we see that happen like you know look at teams in the NHL that are like you know [clears throat]
you have to get a new voice you got to get a new voice you know what I mean go get D ball's he's got he's a Buffalo guy through and through. Well, I wanted him back as offensive coordinator as soon as he was done with the Giants cuz that's when the Bills were their best. That's when Allen was awesome. Like that was our best time. So, that's probably who will end up getting it. But yeah, we definitely needed something changed, but just it I don't know who's out there. Is Dable's probably the best guy out there for us. I'm I'm not sure this was the time to do it.
So, John Gruden would be incredible. How about that? Maybe we could get some questions answered at Penn State at that game coming up at Beaver Stadium. If Pagoul is there, you could,
you know, you could really get after him. Great merch. Great hat right there, G.
Great hat. Yeah, like we got the hoodie. You got that one. This one. Sold out quickly. Sold out quickly. We couldn't announce it last week. Merles went to pull it up, but the Gavin McKenna hat.
We hadn't signed the contract yet, so I had to I had to pull Merl off screen. But pretty cool. Gavin McKenna in
my back my closet already. like I'm not getting in trouble again. That was sane. That was hilarious though. And I got like a sick feeling in my stomach like what's going on? I had no clue what was going on.
He signed the contract like two hours later. I had I had to be sure a boy. But yeah, last thing on the Bills. Um G, I want to ask you because I think it's awful fishy that they promoted to GM to president when obviously he didn't do a good job either. But I feel like they're offering GM and coach. And there's only one guy I can think of that's available GM and coach and it's your guy Bill Bich. Does he have anything left in the tank or is that is he is he gone?
Is he always be a Bellich guy to the day I die? To the day I die. I think he could step into Buffalo and instantly bring them to a Super Bowl. Bill Bich is the greatest.
Doesn't that suit him too? I know he's been seen in like he's wearing new fashion and style. while his girls got him dialed in like some kind of trendy like ripped sweatshirts and like cutesy stuff. But he fits Buffalo like the cut off hoodie with like the
spiteful guy too. Like he's always been known to be super spiteful like with how he's treat treated the New York Jets over the years after kind of what like what transpired between them. He he obviously doesn't have a great taste in his mouth with the New England Patriots. He doesn't let any UNCC uh any Patriot scouts come to UNCC games or practices. Going to a division rival, I think would be the most Bellich thing in the world. I could see that 1,000%.
Matt in the chat saying Bill Bichc could coach the Buffalo Sabres. I Okay, if you put Bellich at the Bills, I know Gruden's a new hockey guy. He's he's he's loving hockey, man. And maybe Gruden and Buffalo with the with the Sabres, too. the Saber. They don't need any help right now. They're the hottest team in the league.
Very true. Very true. They are on fire. They have turned a corner. They do have
Just get Gruden to Chipoa. That's all we want to see is Gruden on Chip. Yeah, Gudon Chip would be electric.
That would be unbelievable. Be unbelievable. [snorts] All right, let's switch it over. Let's We We switched over a little bit there. Going from the Bills to the Sabres. We got some hockey. We got to get into the hockey arm dog.
Yeah, we do. We do. Absolutely we do. There was how many games last night? Pretty interesting. Um, but the one thing that jumps out to me is the Cole Caulfield. Montreal, Winnipeg, marquee game. Two exciting, fun teams to watch going toe-to-toe. Would I say Winnipeg?
Yeah, you're you're a Jets guy. I know Army but Minnesota. Sorry, excuse me. Minnesota high-flying and fun team to watch now out of nowhere. They used to be like a grindy team. Now they're just like this like awesome fun team to watch. uh with the addition of Quinn Hughes and Capriov and they got all these fancy toys but Montreal has always been fun to watch. They're like they're like this new age fun electric fast team with real good fun toys to watch and Cole Cfield there he is scored with like 15 seconds left to win the game and beat them with like a I don't even know how he got that shot off Merles.
It's crazy. I saw most game-winning goals I think since 23 24 season or something ridiculous and
yeah like a ton of overtime winners too but feel about it. He's like, "Yeah, maybe I can start scoring some earlier ones in the game."
That tweet, that tweet's awesome, too, because Montreal and and I saw Cole Cole Cfield didn't know that they tweeted at USA Hockey, which is awesome that they did that. I like I love I love NHL team social medias when they go at it. Like, how many social media teams are go at Biz, which I think is awesome. Like, biz is like interacting and fighting with the social media teams of every team. It's great. I think it's great. But he he didn't know that they tweeted that they they asked him about it after the game and he was just like humble and nice and said I'm just happy we won the game kind of thing like Cole Coffee with a little smile. He's he's got a great personality. But interesting little little shot from the from the social media team in Montreal. I like that stuff.
Yeah. Speaking of USA there, uh he hasn't been added yet, but somebody else was just added and uh I don't know is Posasha Freriedman coming on to break it or we just got a graphic to show. Yes, it was uh just announced that Jackson Lome will be replacing.
I said this Seth Jones. Very welld deserved. I think I do too. I thought he probably should have been on there initially. I mean
I This guy's a tank. He's a horse. Like he can eat up minutes. He's a moose. He's long. He can He's rangy. He can cover the ice. He can He can chip in and be offensive also, but he is an absolute weapon for Anaheim. What a pickup. that just makes him even bigger and lankier and stronger on the back end. No question. I mean, Seth Jones is kind of the same thing. But I do like that Jackson Lome.
Yeah. And that's a guy he'll be he'll be part of Team USA for the next 15 years, right? So, you get him in there and even if he doesn't play a ton of minutes, he's getting that experience with the with the big boys in with the Olympic hockey.
Uh, while we're on the Olympic hockey, Broaddin and Carlson are out for the Olympics team Sweden. I mean, that's just brutal news for them. I I was picking them to maybe pull an upset anymore with those two guys missing. Knander question mark. What are you hearing on that one? Arm dog,
I don't know. I think he has like a lower body injury or they said it was like maybe a groin. He heard it like celebrating.
He was kind of like maintaining it. Maintaining it and then like he celebrated. He scored a goal the other night and he like kind of tweaked it looked like. So maybe it's not super serious. I see in the chat though fire at will in the chat says the Brinket. The Brinkett's having a great year. And sneaky sneakily, is that a word? That's a biz word. Sneakily de Brinket is like a way more complete, better player than I think people give him credit for. Like he is at both ends of the ice. He's he's a b he battles like a little beast out there. He's like a little devil. Like a little like Tasmanian devil the way he's playing. He's not just like a sniper or like a shooter.
I think earlier in his career, he kind of was more of that. Now he's like a more all-around player when you watch him. Like I really like the Brinks game.
You know who I think's one of the bigger snubs, too, is is Jacob Chrin. I I I I don't really know if he's US or Canada. Like I think he can go either way, but this guy's got 18 goals this year. He's been he's been incredible on both sides of the puck and 18 bingo. Like how isn't this guy on a [ __ ] team
and he's skate he's a good skater. He's like built like He-Man. He's like Brooks Orpic, but he can score. It's crazy. And and and I thought when Canada put their roster out, to G's point, I thought the next day when the US put theirs out, I think they put it out the next day.
Um I thought that like chicken Oh, you're Oh, here we go. We're under the hood here, people.
Bash on the backside. What a legend this guy is. Oh my god. Oh, what's wrong with this is the defensive numbers aren't good. I'm I'm I'm It's apparent he's a 12. I don't even know what this means.
No, I don't know. Projected war 52%. I think anyone that's watched Jacob Cherin this year besides that nerd Posh in the back and say that he has been [ __ ] incredible.
No, I love chicken. I agree. He should be on the team. This is the criticism of him, right? The criticism though defense [ __ ] [ __ ] nerds.
And then here's Brinkat for reference. Yeah. Is that good? 95% war. Is that good?
That's good. Okay. Yeah, that's good. That's good. Once again, you can kind of see even strength defense is his weakness, but uh yeah, I agree. Demerhead should also be on the team.
Yeah, De Brinket's having a great season. Well, then let me ask you, Arm Dog, three Americans, to Brinket, Caulfield, and Robertson can only have one. Who you taking?
I don't know. But get Cfield and Robertson. I would probably I would probably go Cfield. I I I I think he I think he's more like elusively darty and dangerous. And if the rink's a little tighter like it will be, I think he'll be of like value in in traffic and in situations like he's he's he's pretty quick, man. Like he's like a little chipmunk in the front yard. He's just going. I love that analogy.
Yeah. You ever see how glitchy they are? They're so glitchy they don't know where they're going.
Yeah. Interesting. That's a tough That's a tough decision. I do like Cfield, though. I do like Cfield. It would be nice to see him there.
Absolutely. I saw something else in the chat. The American We got some players. The US got some players. One of our players, Jake Sanderson, made some news calling out his goalie saying he needed to make some saves. But since then, he's apologized. in uh you know Ottawa they won last night so things are on the men in in your nation's capital.
Can I ask you guys like how is something like that addressed in the locker room? Is that something that is addressed privately? Is that something where you know someone like Brady Kachchuck's like hey guys moving forward we're not saying this [ __ ] to the press like we're keeping this [ __ ] in house. Yeah.
How would you guys personally if you were the captains handled that? And and I think in Canada it comes out it's a little more hot of a of a thing obviously, but I think I think as a captain you would say something like that and just kind of like take control of that like hey let's like enough of this like we're in it together type of thing you know you would take control of that. But I also think as a player like if I said that and then the next day I was like a [ __ ] why' I say that I feel bad. Like I would either like call him immediately or talk to him immediately once I cooled down when it happened or the next day like face to face with him just apologize and say you were hot like you more often than not I think guys are pretty good about like understanding you know being in the fire and making a comment like that. So
yeah I would I would I would think soon as he got home like out to dinner and he it started like calming down like oh man why did I do that? I don't just adding
well and the thing now you don't have to wait for the paper to come out the next day or the article. It's it's it's immediately on social media that night. So it's like already working around his timeline and like his fans and people commenting at him probably. It's like that's the new age player. So it's like in your face immediately so quick that like I bet you it's handled like before he even leaves a room.
True. Almost. Yeah. Like our day you had to wait like, "Oh, please. I hope he didn't put that in the paper." And then you would sit there in the morning, wait for Jimmy Morlock to come by with the clips. Like, "Oh, [ __ ] right. It's Bumbuli. You didn't put that in there." Thank God.
Bumble. Thank god that didn't go in there. What you were telling the coach is an idiot or something, you know. Yeah. Oh god. Hopefully you didn't catch that.
Yeah. That was like me during Chasing the Dream, Merles, on our rookie season. I was like, "What's
They put everything in for you. They put everything in like it's just embarrassing as hell. It's never going away. But um yeah, interesting situation in in Ottawa with that and and dealing with that. And then the Allmark stuff as well. He did a big interview um talking about his mental health and the and the rumors around him with a pretty big sitdown uh with TSN. I I forget the girl's name that did it. She's really good. She's she's really nice too there in Ottawa. She does a great job. But um yeah, he's he's dealing with that and had to come out and you know address it in an interview that like they got some stuff going on in Ottawa. The last thing they need is a guy carving the goalie, right? Like you know Claire Hannah, thank you Jazz. Claire Hannah Cla Hannah and Ottawa does a really good job. Yep.
Yeah. So uh another team in Canada, the Conucks have lost 11 straight games. Don't really need to talk much about them. We'll talk maybe about them a little bit with some trades, but I wanted to talk some goalies. How about that fight last night armed or two nights ago?
That was unbelievable. Hey, like leave it to leave it to Florida, man. Like even Bob like the Zen like guru doing like deep breathing exercises, praying mantis poses. He just came down. He wanted it. That was just electric to me.
He was flying. Did you see how fast he can skate? He was flying and then I I was actually surprised how fast he was going. It was like that little kid game in Hershey when that goalie came down and destroyed that little kid.
He came down to like and and I think Ned caught him at the last second out the corner of his eye, him flying into the pile. Ned kind of stiffened him up right away and put put Bob down initially before they really started scrapping. So, uh, love it. Love it. It's awesome. Freaking Panthers, man. Panthers, baby. You know, you can't do that anymore. It's 2026. This isn't this isn't the 90s, man. The Panthers don't live in your in your world. The Panthers do what they want. They're they're fully involved and now Bob's getting in the mix. I thought Ned had own himself pretty good. Love seeing Bob kind of do that, too. What What were you thinking after after that happened, too? Cuz Bob went to the dressing room. Like, do you think he was just kicked out? And I was trying to remember like Hextoall and when Felix Pot Van when he went down and fought him like what happened in those days when those goalie fights happened.
It was just like I'm trying to remember if I' I remember Kyoto fought uh against Philly in the playoffs.
Namaki but I think that was towards the end of the game. So of course they just got kicked out.
They just got kicked out right. I think it didn't matter. Yeah, that's definitely weird.
I think the thing about it is so you can skate down the ice. I think it's just like a I don't know what the penalty is. Remember when Patrick W came out of the net and like spinama on Wayne Gretzky and then dangled over the line. He got like a penalty. So someone has to go serve the penalty when you cross the line. But they got in like a fight. He thought he was like kicked out cuz he came all the way down the ice too, which in my [snorts] mind I'm thinking like yeah, you should probably get kicked out if you're like extending all the way down there. But like no, he went back in the game. A guy served his penalties.
But usually in the day, I think there's always like there was always like three or four fights going on.
So you were like the second or third fight, you get kicked out automatically, right? So I was thinking about that cuz like usually the goalie comes into that. Now guys just scrum. There's not really any fights. Bob had other ideas.
They Yeah, they should have both got five minutes and had to actually sit in the box because who cares? You have to wait for a whistle to come out anyway. Mhm.
So, you could have gave them each five and then give give uh Bob a 10-minute misconduct for leaving the crease or something like that.
Yeah. Yeah. They shouldn't be able to stay in the game. It's a That was awesome. That was so confusing to me. And there was like a big delay and then like
they're like when when Babski comes out of the route when returns back to this game, this place is going to go nuts. And Terasov like had his stuff on then took it off and just waited for Bob to come out. It was sick. I was like, "This is awesome." He just right back in the game. It's like training camp. Remember when you fought a guy and then you you don't even get a penalty. You just fought a guy at training camp. You go pick your helmet up, put it back on, put your gloves on, line up for the face off.
Yeah. It's like all awkward. You're like, "Oh, what do I do? This is weird. I'm exhausted."
Yeah. You stay on the ice. Oh, that was great. I love the electricity of that of that right now. And like, you know, and and to to put it into even more, like the schedule has been crazy for these players. You know, I've I got to do What game did I do the other day? I was in Boston. I did uh Boston Detroit game last week for TNT. But just even talking to coaches, like even me right now on the road, I I'm like, no one knows what day it is. Like none of the coaches know like what day it is. They're just like game to game, dayto day, off day or game day. Like that's all that matters. And the schedule's so compacted and like everyone's like hanging on to get by. I think that's why Merl's in the standings or like in players. We see the teams that will go like, you know, they'll win five in a row, then they'll lose like five in a row, then they'll win three in a row. Like it's just like you just like
run the well dry and then you're like, "Oh crap." Then you got to rebuild up the reserves and then you run it dry again cuz it's it's it's been crazy. So, even with that going on and and the schedule and the demand of it and the injuries that we've seen pop up, of course, all season long, um these guys are still laying it on the line like desperate and Florida has to be, right?
Yeah. Where they're at. Yeah, for sure they do. Um this is your team, the Jets. Jonathan Taves, he returned to Chicago. Did you get to tune into that one? I took him to score a goal. Obviously didn't happen. Brutal pick by me, but I just thought a guy like that usually they score on their first time back,
buddy. And he's been scoring lately, too. He's been actually like popping it and getting it going. That was an amazing Chicago has a a a cool uh energy in the arena that is like different than other rinks, you know, like Montreal is the one that everyone talks about, but Chicago has its thing as well. and the appreciation and the ovation and like the welcome and the thank you for Jonathan Taves for what he did in Chicago with those teams and winning. I I almost started to cry when I was watching it. I got like emotional just because of like the support and love they showed for him. It was really cool. Like and it was so long like he his I you could tell the players on his team were like go do another lap.
Like get out there like soak it in kind of thing. and he had to do like three, four different little laps like thanking them. It was pretty cool to see. That was just incredible when a city is behind a guy that much and and that guy means that much to them. And then the comments after about how how Taves as a young captain connected with fans and and the community and um kind of what that that that era of Hawks teams winning, you know, it was it was they they sucked for a long time. So, it was uh it was a it was an awesome scene.
Awesome scene. What' you think of it? Yeah, I was I I mean I would have been a lot happier if he scored. I had the Merles Minute going for DraftKings Sportsbook and had everybody riding with me and he didn't get it done. But um moving on, I want to talk some trades with you. We had two big trades. I told you we'd talk more about Vancouver, so let's go to that one first. Kefir Sherwood goes to San Jose.
Yeah, great little pickup for them. I think that's perfect for them, right? The thing that jumps out to me, Merles, a name that pops up to me with San Jose, I don't know why I can't get this combination out of my head. I don't know if it's gonna happen, but Paneran, like the New York Rangers, like lots of stuff happening. I can see like Paneran like San Jose like taking a little swing and going and getting them. I don't know why. I don't know if he wants to go there. I have no intel, no information. I just I just see them as like they got, you know, a good team. They've got some decent guys there. They just got Sherwood like a good depth guy and then you can add this guy too. Like I just think it would with the talented guys they have. I think it would be I think it would look awesome.
Yeah. I don't I can't see him going from New York City to the city of San Jose. Um but
why you think he wants to be in like a better like city? That's what matters. I I I feel like that matters most to a lot of the Russian guys is is being in the right spot. And
I I just What do you think with him? I I don't see him there. Uh I also don't think he wants to go somewhere that they might make the playoffs. If he's going to go, he's going to want to try to win the cup.
Yeah. Well, yeah, but set it up like you. So, yeah. Where where would he go? Yeah. I don't know. Uh I don't know the cap. I'm not a capologist.
You mentioned Cap. I think the Caps I think Washington the Capitals, you know, go play with Obie for his final run like that. And it sounds like it sounds like I think Elliott mentioned like he wants to he he doesn't want to go somewhere and then go somewhere else. It sounds like where he wants to go is where he's going to sign his extension. So
Washington's going to have a lot of money coming off the books though leaving next year. They're going to need that Russian to replace him.
This is true. It's not a bad spot. I was also thinking maybe Detroit for this run because they're they're looking pretty good. And of course he played with Patrick.
Love that. Love that. Oh, it's not a bad one. That would be sick. That would be There's so many interesting
Russian. We just had Federov on Spit and Chicklets. A Russian famous Russian in Detroit. Could it all be coming together?
Back with Kainer. Oh my god. They just be dishing east west passes all over the place to each other. The Brinket would just come flying in with a oneie. Wow. Wow. And then and actually they're in a obviously in a great position Detroit
and after the stink last year with like can't believe Stevie didn't make a move to improve us. We really wanted that to happen. I mean you you play yourself in deserving that not you know they're in a better position now for Stevie to possibly make a move.
Yeah. Um they they got [clears throat] tons of prospects. Tons of picks. Like I think they have look up look them up G on the cap thing and tell me where they are in the league with cap room. I think they have like a lot of room. I think they're like third most room in the league.
Yeah. So, while he's looking that up, like I that's that they have a ton. They have 29 mil in cap space this year.
Here we go. 29 mil. That's insane. Yeah. I think it's like them, the Penguins, and who who else is at the bottom? That's like the bottom three teams, meaning they have the most cap space.
I mean, it go they got 42 mil next year. Like this team has tons of money to spend.
That's what Paneran likes. That's what Panaran likes. There's no players to spend 40 million on for next year.
None. None. That's crazy. Detroit. Maybe the Iser plan just ultimate patience working out. I'm curious about the Penguins, too. You know, they got some guys. They're in a good spot. And are they going to add or are they going to move some guys around? They did make a trade yet the other day. traded uh like kind of like a depth prospect guy for uh another older defenseman prospect uh Bellarussian kid from Colorado. So something's starting to move here Merles and I know it's like we got to get to the Olympics and then you know there's that break and then it's not long after that until we're boom like a few weeks after that when we're at the trade deadline. So do teams want to make some moves early? I know Vegas with Anderson.
What do you make of that trade? That's why I don't understand the capology. I don't know. How do they go and get this guy again? They get every number one like trade board player every single time. They get the number one guy. I don't know how they do it.
I don't know how they did. They're the evil empire man. They what whatever they want they get. And then on top of it, they got Calgary to eat 50 retain 50%. That when he gets there, they actually made money off the off the trade going the other way with Whitecloud and then there's enough room for McNab to come off the IR or LTIR or whatever to come back into the mix as well. Like somehow they made that all fit and work also. Just insane. And he didn't sign an extension. That was part of it. He didn't want to, but like like he's not going to sign an extension there.
Yeah. Why? Where else you gonna go? Yeah. They're like, "Well, we'll just get him here. He'll sign here. Once we get him here, we'll just
speaking of DraftKings down there on the bottom of the screen. I went and looked at their odds and they're plus 800 and I mean I I I don't see any having any problem in the West. Edmonton looks like crap right now. Obviously, it's Colorado, but you would get to the conference finals and if you have eight to one against Colorado, I I kind of like that spot. You could even hedge out of it somehow. But
I think Minnesota too, man. Like Minnesota think Minnesota can take down Colorado.
They just they I don't know. [ __ ] I don't know. They have they do have like that big body nasty grind playoff like um mentality in their in in in their team. I don't know. Like it's just that when you look at Colorado top to bottom, they got good D2 in mini. They're big. They they're physical. they can be um they can play that style and then they have good goalending like their goalies are good too like pick your poison kind of thing too. The thing I concerned with Vegas a little bit is like last year their speed but they have that those young guys in the lineup that they've put in there that have like added some a little bit of production but like they they're a little faster too. You know what I mean?
Yeah. They look so slow last year. They should never even beat Minnesota and then the Oilers just embarrassed them. But I'm I'm thinking of maybe putting a little wager on them and and getting the jacket out fulltime just because Colorado it's it's it's not worth betting like they're they're so low odds. I can't do it.
In the chat um BM 001 Merles hates Hughes. Okay. But have we talked about him yet? No, but you like Quinn Hughes because after until they can win a Stanley Cup with somebody that's six feet under as a D number one D anyone in the NHL, then I'm not going to believe in them.
Yeah, that's goes back a few years now with the under the hood study you did on defenseman.
That was a real under the hood. That was pretty good. I mean, you gave that away for free. Like teams would pay big money for a study like that. Mr. Just saying. Just like they play pay the slump buster, bud.
We're going to get to the slump buster, everybody. Do we have another one? Um, I thought about maybe even having Vancouver be the slump buster cuz they've lost 11 in a row. They're still open for business. Elias Patterson, you know, I've wanted him to get out of there for a while.
Yeah. You hear? Yeah. You got anything? No, not not yet. Nothing. See, I'm not in Sweden right now, so I'm not getting the, you know, the on the streets. Do you think that if you had a if you had the streets were talking to you, do you think that like it would be as big as of an uproar as it was a few years ago when the streets spoke to you about him?
No. No. Because nobody's nobody saw it going on last year, but or was that two years ago now when I heard about all the locker I knew about all the locker room problems there and and everything. So it was I was f again first on that. I was first on that that there was problems there and uh we've seen how it played out.
Is there a chance he still ends up in your destination of Chicago? That would be I'm waiting every day. I'm just dreaming that and then I'll have to go back and find all those people chirping me.
Buddy, you're like you're like in our little finger clip or whatever they call it or thumbnail for our show. You're back to the future in the Delorean with that one. You were ahead of that one by a mile. You had the sports almanac mers
and I'm there Doc Brown. You can't take it back, Marty. To the future in the sports almanac. Get rid of it. You can't do it, Marty. Merles again. Great Scott Merls. Oh my god, that's awesome. Yeah, we're going to have some picks later on, so maybe I do have the sports almanok. Last last Wednesday I went three for three and swept the board and I think two for three on Thursday. So, been running pretty good here.
I got the slump buster. Kadri popped one and so we're rolling. Vegas Insider who we like I know he's he pokes his head out every once in a while. He got one too. So everyone's kind of everyone's kind of
he's going to start playing some more. He's you know he's he's a big college football guy. So he's been he's been focusing on that. But now that the season's over, he's going to start focusing and giving the people the anytime goal scores. Got Mr. Ice heating up. He hit his over last night. How about last week when I did the chicklets parlay? I hit that and Biz hit his on on on last.
That was that was big. I thought yours was a little bit insane. I was like, "Wow, that's a lot." Like, I don't know if that's gonna happen. And then it was just like check mark, green, check mark, green check mark,
check mark. I do have a little parlay. Maybe I will try to get it on there. I'll call Jack McCarthy when we're done here and try to get it up on the on the website so we can have a little graphic. Maybe a game notes parlay tonight.
Oh, wow. Let's go. Let's go, buddy. I love that. We want to look at some of the standings right now.
Yeah, I would love to. I would love to. So, here we go. Atlantic. We got it in the Atlantic. We got Tampa, Detroit, Montreal in the top three. The Metro top three right now. Carolina, New York, Pittsburgh is hanging on. And then in the wild card, the Buffalo Sabres in the It's crazy. The Boston Bruins are in the second wild card still with Toronto nipping at their heels.
Like, do you think that Florida's in a really tough spot right there where they're at? I mean,
I'm kind of concerned about Florida, man. Yeah, they're they're they're back there. I mean, Buffalo's not slowing down. Somehow these Bruins aren't slowing down. And then
are the Leafs going to get in, too? The Leafs are going okay. Like, I don't know. Like, Florida, I don't know if Florida has it in them right now.
No. Without Barov, if Barov was on that team right now and they were in that position, I wouldn't be worried. But he's not coming back anytime soon. Yeah, like I think that I think with
now Jones is hurt. Everybody Everybody just says, "Oh, Florida will get in. They'll find a way to get in. They're Florida."
But like I don't know. I I I'm I'm I don't think they're going to get in. They're five points back of the Bruins with two games in hand.
Like there's just so much belief in like Florida will find a way to get it done. And I understand that, but like they're in a really bad spot right now to make a like with when it's when you get locked in like this and it's jammed up like this and you know, I think there's just too many teams above them that are that are pretty decent that it's going to be tough to make up that ground. That's concerning.
That is concerning. I asked Pasha a few weeks ago if he's ready to tank if the Devils if it's time for the Devils to tank. How can you look at those standings and not be ready to tank? If you're the New Jersey Devils, you can't buy at this trade deadline if you're the New Jersey Devils. They don't have a shot. They don't have a chance in France.
They just won two games in a row in Alberta for Posasha here. But like, oh, against the Calgary Flames.
They're three points back at Pittsburgh. Like, there's lots of season left. What are we talking about? Is it exciting for you to see the way they've you said a win's a win in our group chat the other night, but it's like
hanging on for dear life wins. I mean, now you got Luke Hughes out. Luke Hughes is going to miss probably the rest of the season now. Like, what are we talking about? This team's a disaster.
Yeah, but then that gives them the 9 million bucks to go get a top six winger and a center. Listen, I said it last week. I said this next 10day stretch is key. Right now, they've won four the last five. So, they're not out of their hole yet. They're still in trouble, but there are positive signs trending. There's there's plenty of season left to still try and make it and then still pull if things aren't going well. So, I I'm still believing another couple weeks if they keep this up, go for it. But if a couple weeks they're not playing well, then pull shoot. So, plenty of runway left. They're trending in the right direction.
Are the streets talking to you about the Douggee Hamilton situation? I mean, I I don't see them trading him now that Luke is probably going to be out for a while. So, I mean, just an interesting wrinkle there. But, I mean, Douggee has been lights out. He has points in every game since he got health bombed. So, it's one of those things.
Yeah. I mean, was it the health bomb or you chirping him on game notes? It probably was a bit of both, but I mean, listen, he had one point in two months before that. So, if Douggee can keep playing like this and then now they have that 9 million to go get another player or two. Obviously, I want Luke Hughes in the lineup, but like, you know, that that I could see that working out for
anyone off the Rangers you would accept. I mean, they need offense, so like Paneran obviously brings the offense. I don't think that'll ever happen. Um, I love Troche. I think Troche would be a great 3C for them. Um, every team should be trying to trade for Vincent Troche right now.
Once that letter went out, it's like you every team probably you should call about Troche. Yeah.
Yeah. If you any team that's like has an idea that they could maybe win a couple rounds in the playoffs this year. I think a lot of teams are still just trying to figure out what they are. Like they're like, "Oh man, okay, in our division, where are we? Okay, can we make it through? What are what really are we?
We can." to that point of sorry to cut you off army but of g talking about tanking because the standings are so compressed like I said it's not like there's a couple clear teams at the basement of the east where you can't catch them in terms of getting down below right so it's so close that like you know for let's say the devils in the next two weeks kind of putter out you're probably only like four points away from being at the bottom of the east still so um definitely too early to kind of be pulling shoot I think
yeah like you're saying it's you don't have to tank this early to get the top five pick. There's going to be plenty of time for that cuz it is so tight. Um, that was the East. Let's check out that West.
Merles. Yeah, let's I I'm curious about the West. And it's and like which teams are going to get in which not? Like it's just it's wild to me looking at these races. This is this is like the craziest year. East and West for like
just like teams are they going to hold on? Are they going to be there? What is it going to look like? How are they going to hold up? Anaheim was like struggling for a while. Now they what have they won? four in a row. I think
four out four out of five out of Yeah, something like that. Yeah, they're back.
Four, five and one in their last 10. Yeah, I mean they're back winning again. Um I don't know. I don't know.
You see it right here. The Central obviously Colorado in first, Dallas second, Minnesota third. Dallas has been struggling even though they won last night. And then out in the Pacific.
Yeah, I always call it the West, but it's the Pacific. Vegas, Edmonton, Anaheim, and then in the wild card, Utah and San Jose. It's two interesting teams there. LA Kings hanging around below them. Seattle's Seattle's one of those teams like you just talked about. They win five, lose five.
They're not like a dynamic attacking scoring team. They're like a hardworking, structured team. So, they hang around and they're going to do that. They're just two points off the back of Anaheim, San Jose, LA, who are all tied of 53 points. It's just crazy. These standings are crazy. Crazy.
Except for Vancouver. They're like it's it's I mean Vancouver. They got New Jersey next. Oh, that would be something else. We just a disclaimer. Just a lifetime disclaimer on Pasha if they drop that one.
Like I I feel like the Jets are kind of the Florida of the West where they're they're down there, but I I still have a hard time counting them out. Is there any chance like I I they could catch some of these teams? No, they still have the players. 46 points to try to catch those wild card spots because they're not
they're not catching anyone those top three teams. I just I can't see that happening. Obviously, there's too big of a
So, like you're fighting for those two spots in the wild card. Like they're they're better than Chicago. They're better than Calgary. I think they're better than Nashville. They're better than Seattle. They they they should be able to go on a run here the last 30 games and and at least make it interesting for the wild card. Sullivan in the ch in the chat says jets are grounded.
Okay, Sully. Sully in the chat. Uh, Fortuity says sharks are getting in. Sharks are interesting to me. I like I wouldn't mind seeing them get in. Hey,
get in. Get a little experience. Yeah, I like I love that story. I love I love that. Like a good year.
I love that. Celibbrini getting the heart trophy, getting his team in and just getting it done. Uh, and then get a little maybe they were a little dangerous too in the first round playing against, you know, if they do get in, they play Colorado first round. Maybe not, but you might as well just keep your suitcase packed for that one.
Um, yeah, Arm Dog, if if San Jose is going to go to Colorado in the first round, the only chance they have of beating them or even not getting swept is right here. Body Armor Flash IV caffeine zero sugar arm dog. This is the new drink. This episode is brought to you by the new Body Armor Flash IV caffeine zero sugar. If you're dragon but also dehydrated, this is the move. It's hydration with a caffeine boost and zero sugar. I keep one around for long days and early mornings, which we have tons of when we're watching hockey like this with small kids.
Work hard, hydrate [snorts] hard with Body Armor Flash IV. Grab it at 711 today. Army, I gotta tell you, they I got a case of these
and now it's my play before men's league because the men's leagues we get the worst times here. We have 8:20. Last night was 9:15.
Yeah. What did I text you last night? I texted you and you're like, "Dude, just had a heartbreaker in men's league and it was like it was like 11:00 my time or something." So, it was like clo maybe like 10:30. So, it was like close to I guess what 1 12:30.
It was a It was a wild game. We lost 10 to nine and it was just the slowest game. We were there forever. We started a little late. Um but yeah, we're winning. We're leading this. We're playing the number one team.
Well, good thing you had uh flash IV in you. Get I should have had two of them. I only had one. So with two minutes to go, we gave up the tying goal. And then six seconds later off the faceoff, they scored the game-winning goal. Mark Kavosi, my old RBI teammate.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Somehow broke in. Backhand bar down. How are you doing? And then uh we pulled the goal. He made a push at the end. Didn't get it done. I felt I let I let the team down. Let the team down. But we have a little tradition. Uh Clarky brings us uh a player of the game beer. You know, we have our normal 30 pack, but he brings he brings an extra one like a tall boy from somewhere around the world for player of the game. So
Oh, so the regular beer and then he has like a secretive special like Zado Charara can that he gets as a as the gift. Well, that's pretty thoughtful. Yeah, that's pretty fun. Yeah, it was it's nice. So, I had that. It was uh it was a nice little night, but yeah, it was a heartbreaking loss.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I felt it through your message. You were really upset about it as I was throwing show ideas out to you and you were like heartbreaking. I can't talk. You were like
Well, after the Bills lost and now that loss, you were like, it's like it was like we I was talking to someone off the Ottawa Senators post game. I thought I never knew what you were going to say. You throw your goalie under the bus or something. A
goalie was great. Cal was great yesterday. Awesome, buddy. Yeah. So, that's Body Armor Flash IV with caffeine and zero sugar. We all need that. We're trying to stay in shape, but on the move. And uh speaking of being on the move, it's time to move to riding the bus. Arm dog.
And uh you want to start with the CHL rankings, the Armogl rankings. Let's get them up there. Get my CHL stuff out out there right now. I actually turned on to the Victory app and watched a couple CHL games not too long ago. So, just catching up on it now being back here in Calgary. Also, Merles, the Calgary Hitmen
were at the rink at at at the Penguins practice yesterday, but they had to jump on a bus and they were heading down the road. I believe they were going to Medicine Hat, who you see right there, is ranked fifth. I didn't look up the scores to see if they won last night, but uh they were watching the skate in the morning before they get on the bus and then drive down to Medicine Hat to play last night, play the game, then probably just drive right back. That's the Western League, baby.
That's awesome. But, uh, Shakuri hanging on that top spot. PA has really made a run for it. They made some trades at their trade deadline, added some big big, uh, junior players, some first round picks, and Coots from Seattle, of course. So, they're making a run. Uh, Brford has been there all along. They were like kind of number one all year. Everett always good, always there. Mickey Dupont's kid, Landon DuPont, they'll be a tough out. Medicine Hat is somehow still killing it. They have like a defenseman on their team, Merles, that is just lighting it up right now. It's just incredible. Is totally looks like like a Kale Mar type numbers
for them. Uh Edmonton Oil Kings. I head to Edmonton tomorrow. Maybe I'll get some scoops from Staf on the Oil Kings. Uh Monton right there at seven. Ottawa OHL. Pentictton firstear team in the Western Hockey League. making the top 10 and hanging around in there and then the Barry Colts to round out the top 10. So, nice spread and I don't think the Q gets enough love. Obviously, I'm big Western League guy. Uh we get OHL [ __ ] rammed down our throat a lot just because um and we don't talk about the Q all that much. They don't have fighting in their league. But, Shakudami, Quebec League team up there, Monton in the top 10, two teams that are rolling pretty good. Uh I lost Merles. I don't know where he is.
Um, and maybe we'll get to some NCAA college talk here. Merles or G now? Oh, we got him back. There we go. And you guys want to do your top 10 or you like there's a lot of stuff on here because college hockey is buzzing right now, boys. It's just
it's just taking over the world. Like a lot of different reasons, right? We can't miss right now. We really can't miss. I mean, what a weekend for Michigan State sweeping Wisconsin. Quinnipic. We got Quinnipic jumping up the rankings there as well. Shout out to the ECAC Merles. Got to give them a little love.
Uh Providence. Providence had another big weekend, a big sweep for them. And then I wanted to shout out once again St. Thomas with a sweep. Augustana with the street sweep. And then you put RPI and Union in there. Mr. RPI and Union. We got the big game, the Capital Skates Classic, the Mayor's Cup. I don't know what they call it anymore. It's this Saturday. It's down in Albany. We go down to the big arena down there. 16,000 seat arena. Big game. the the women play first and then the men play at six o'clock. So, that's a big game for me down there. Union, they're in the top 25. So, they're they're actually our honorable mention, but I want to talk RPI because I went to the game Friday night, RPI vers Yale
and it was a good game, man. Um Yale had some interesting players. A guy Molson, his dad owns Molson, he was on the team. Mike Richtor's son is on the team.
Jeff Molson's kid. Really? Yeah. My brother, I think they I think they summer in Maine and they the kids skate out there and stuff. So, that's cool to hear their names popping up in in college hockey. Awesome.
Yeah. So, I was at that game. The streets were talking there. G the streets were talking.
What are they saying? There there's uh new new coach new coach probably coming to Yale. There's uh you know big like alumni push. They're getting a lot of money. They're trying to get an alumni in there.
I mean Yale's falling off quite a bit. I mean, they were remember when they won a national championship in the past 10 years, did they not? Like,
yeah, the coach had to retire right before the season, so the assistants kind of got thrown into it.
So, really, you know, it's kind of a work in progress for them this year. And, um, you know, the streets were talking, the streets were talking that there could be a big alumni coming in to coach the team at some who who give us a name.
Can't give the names yet. I can't give the names yet. Can't give the names yet.
And, uh, soft. Well, I mean, the streets were doing more than just talking. The streets were showing this week. I mean, can we show the Sasha Bouv and Connor Connor Eddie fight? You never see a fight in college hockey, and this week we got it.
Yes. Here it is. I mean, just unbelievable, dude. This Eddie Chucks one or that one right there. If he hits him with that, I think it's good night, Irene. But these two guys were going at it. I give him a ton of credit. boys. Uh just a little Canadian flavor just with the way things are right now. Obviously it's big. It's booming. Boy, uh I think he's from like the Ottawa area kind of on the Quebec side. And then Eddie's from from British Columbia. Yep.
Uh so two Canadian guys that uh you know dropped the Midies and a lot of people were going crazy about the suspension. The last time this happened, guys got kicked out. I saw I guess the guys that got kicked out for the rest of the season that got suspended for the year came and let themselves out of the penalty box from what I read.
Yeah, we we covered that. We talked about that. Did we? I don't remember. Yeah. Yeah.
But that wasn't that long ago. We briefly talked about it on Chicklets about Sasha W. I mean, that's a kid when we went over to Beu to film Chicklets U. I wanted to meet him and I asked where he was and I was told he's at boxing class. Takes boxing classes every day. Uh that's a kid was at North Dakota last year. Chicago Blackhawks first round pick. Transferred over to BU. Everyone had super high expectations for him.
Hasn't been going that good, I think. But he's been playing the first half of the season really hurt. And I think that's all of his teammates spoke so highly of him of how tough he is and and the fact that he's always playing through injuries and he's taken all these boxing classes and they all believe that he is going to succeed at the next level just because of how he,
you know, prepares himself, how he, you know, he's just an NHL player through and through.
Yeah. At that draft in Vegas, I was at the where were we at? Was it the Chandelier Bar or whatever it's called? Yeah. There was an NHL scout there showing me clips of him fighting in the USHL saying, "I've been all over my staff to take this guy in the first round. He's a future NHL captain." And it was funny to see him tossing him like that.
So, his his cousin plays with Cruz and he's a pretty good damn good little player too.
Um, and he has like a background in like boxing and kickboxing or something, too. So just little
Sasha's dad is uh I think he teaches boxing. I think Whit mentioned something are nail guns. So
Jesus nail guns them. Seriously. Yeah. Two weeks from the Hockey East. But a lot of people too were like, "Oh, are we going to are we ever going to see fighting in college hockey? College hockey needs to add fighting." The schools will never go for it. I mean as it would be so awesome.
You see what the commissioner of the hockey said? Did you like he put out like a statement about it? There's no place in Hockey East for this. Like, relax. [ __ ] settle down.
Relax. Exactly. It's just because the school the schools then take the liability for it, the insurance liability, which they're never ever going to do. That's why college hockey players can't wear the half shields. But it's like if they're not letting these guys wear half shields, they sure as [ __ ] aren't going to let them fight.
No. And I'm fine with like I I I it's exciting that those guys decided that they're going to go and like it's great and like look how many how many clicks do you think that got? Really? Awesome.
And boy is going off to the fans, but like it doesn't happen all like come on. It's not going to happen. It's still a rule. It still like won't happen because it's a rule. But relax with it. There's no point for this in our game.
Yeah. Our boy Benny Bar got in a fight one of his first ever college games. No way. Drop the Mitch squared up.
No, it was a big like line scrum in front of the goalies and stuff. And you know, he he'll tell you because he's a mush, too, that he he ended up getting tossed. I think three guys got tossed from the game on each side.
But we went on to score nine goals that next the rest of the game. I've told that story before. Everybody got a point but Benny. Like Benny was the only guy in the team the stats after three games with zero points because he got tossed.
I love Yeah, he didn't get his money worth. Like those guys got their money's worth. Buddy, I remember playing Kiwi hockey or like Banttom back home and we played this little like uh farm team, like little small town team
and there's this little rock steady defenseman on their team. He was like he was he was kind of like a intimidating little nail gun and I remember we got like a scrum kind of. It was near the end of the game and they were pretty ramy. They're strong little farm boys. The kid like I was a little taller than him but he grabbed my helmet. We dropped our gloves. We were going to fight and you have to like pull the guy's helmet off so he he's smaller. I'm like trying to like reach over and pull and he's ripping my helmet off. I can feel it loosening. It's going to pop. He's ripping it off, you know. And as he's doing it, he goes, "It's coming off.
It's coming off. It's coming off." He was so much stronger than me. I was like, "Oh shit." And then he just started opening it up. I was like, "Oh, I couldn't get his helmet off, you know."
Yeah. I always used to rip here on the chin strap to it would make that plastic piece
ear piece pop off. Yeah. or or the string would just pull out of the little plastic clip and then you could just flip it off. So, we used to tape the end of ours chin strap. So, it was so thick that it couldn't go through the plastic strap.
Remember we used to chirp guys that guys that did that? Like, well, you got your helmet welded on, bud. Look how tight your chin strap is. You got chin strap.
Got your chin strap taped on. Hey, bud. Yeah. Just giving it to guys that did that.
Yes. Yes, I do. I don't want to get beat up by you guys because I'm running my mouth to everybody.
I'm seeing something here, too. in the chat. Blues Bruins trade. There's Pasha Freedman.
Pasha Freriedman. The streets were talking last night about a Blues Bruins trade.
I text I texted a guy this morning. Nice. I'm not seeing anything. Nothing. Fake news.
I Hey, they the fake news, I think. I'm not seeing anything. Pasha Friedman's got nothing to report.
They did just fake news. They did signing. They We do have a little breaking news. They signed Alex Steves to a 2-year contract. 1.625 million AAV. Steve
that'll tip the scales. He's been awesome this year though. I think that's a great
They like him. They found him. They think he's a good hockey player, like an up and down guy. Also a hungry guy too to that point that wants to like he'll do anything to be in a spot on a team and can provide that. Um and he's kind of like where was he before? The Marlies in Toronto up and down a little bit mostly down. So, he's getting a real quality chance and I think they've liked like what he's brought all around. Not only his like game, but I think in the room, his work ethic dayto day, they they've liked him there in in uh Boston.
Yeah. I say we got the most blue sources and brewing sources. We better not miss on that one. So, Kieran, you're in the mindsies right now for getting the chat going and getting us going with that fake news. Who knows, maybe it'll end up being true later, but uh either way, that's our perfect segue to show mindsies.
And as always, Arm Dog, lead us off. Oh, I have to I have to throw to the show. I mean, the sites that we saw the other night with Mendoza, the Hobie Baker winning quarterback in the national championship game against Miami. And obviously like the story book, everyone saying this is Disney, this is Disney. I saw people I think it was like Mark Cuban said this is a bigger uh bigger moment than than the than the miracle on ice and I saw Ruseion came on like hey relax it was an Olympic study it's not a national football game in college like relax okay which I agree with um but the Disney story thing I think has a real element to it with this kid like this kid is just like positive happy his Baker speech was amazing he tried to get on at Miami uh where he's from. He's from there.
And this guy's just like, "Work hard. Do your best. You can't make it or you feel like you're down. I am you. I was you. Look at me and you can do it." Like just so inspirational and like a real quality human being. Uh and then on top of it, like just what their team did at Indiana and like the run they went on and then the final game against Miami. It's so crazy how that [ __ ] works out to play his team that he tried to want to get on and they want nothing to do with them. And
in Miami against Miami in Miami and he's from Miami Heisman winning quarterback.
I mean it couldn't have been any Did I say Hobie Baker winning QB? Heisman winner. Sorry I'm a hockey guy. [ __ ] I'm not I'm not totally dialed in. Thank you in the chat for correcting me. Blumenfeld. Um but like I saw like there people are building these clips of of Mendoza like running the ball and like he jumps over a guy and a guy tries to hit him and it misses and I'm like everyone's saying it's a Disney movie. It looked like angels in the outfield like when they they're grabbing the guy and they're carrying him around to make a catch or holding his glove. Like guys are missing him. He stumbles, he trips, he bounces over a guy. Guy misses him again and then he dives in the end zone.
It's like so strange how this whole thing worked out for their coach, their players. I think their coaching staff was all at like IUP in Pennsylvania, like
James Madison University, I think it was. Like I it was just crazy like we're like the whole scenario of this team and this run and the story and the QB and and how it played out in Miami versus Miami and and like like those moments in sports is why we love sports. The best reality TV show in the world and that was just like a like one of those once in a-lifetime kind of college story moments that that that make it incredible. So that is show I send that team to the show. their coach to the show. Uh their the QB Mendoza, unbelievable to the show and kind of the run they had because that that is Cinderella style stuff right there and we all got to watch it.
Yeah, they were the worst team in college football I think two years ago and then last year they he got him into the tournament in his first year. This year he wins it. I think his opening press conference somebody said something like like how do you get this job? He's like Google me. All I do is win.
Unreal. That too that is the greatest line ever. That clip is unbelievable. Yeah.
And I might have to send Kadic to the show as well. He's Pittsburgh guy and he was like the captain there. Stayed for an extra year. The whole story. So his heart and soul into that thing. But we might not have to send him to the show. We might have to send him to the hospital. Burls.
Yeah. Our coworker Mike Cadish. Yeah. They were like all the guys were coming up to him saying, "You were part of this. You're the reason this happened. You started it." So
yeah, amazing. Really cool story. Totally great story. Great story. Let's keep it going here. Grenell, let's get on with your show. Keep it positive here. Got to keep it positive. So, this I'm going to call a name that everybody everybody in the entire hockey world is going to know in a few years, and that is Carter Meyer. Name sound familiar? That's cuz it's Freddy Meyer's son. Uh he scored an absolutely incredible goal this weekend. Uh it was absolutely filthy. I'll play it here.
I've been hearing about this kid for the last few years, too. He's committed to beu. He's absolutely I mean between the legs upstairs. This kid is unbelievable. The entire hockey world is going to know his name in a few years. Committed to BEu I believe to go next season. He's uh a Winchester kid. Played at the River School last year alongside Sam Pandalfo. Jay Pandalfo's son also going to be uh this kid's a player, boys. Look at that.
Freddy Meyer. Yeah, he was a teammate of mine in San Antonio Rampage for a few games, but you should have seen that kid in youth hockey. He was he was the best defenseman in pee-wee hockey. That's how Syracuse won the Quebec peewee tournament. They had him in the back end with JD Forest. They played the entire game. I'm telling you, they played 35 of the 36 minutes Freddy Meyer as a pee-wee. He was incredible. Awesome pro.
Was he the same size as he was at pro? Cuz he's not a big basically built like a cigarette machine.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it probably helped him when he was in youth hockey like advanced body mechanics and the whole deal where he was just dominating. But yeah, we played a lot against him through
he started a junior program actually around here, the East Coast Wizards and my brother ended up playing for him uh for a few years and he said he was an unbelievable coach as well. So that Meyer family, just a hockey family through and through.
Flyers legend Freddy Meyer Jazz. Yeah, we had a lot of battles with him there and in uh the Phantoms days. Yeah, we played against him a lot in the Phantoms.
Yep. All right, let's bring Posh on. I know where this is going to go. Uh, no show. No show for me. As you guys know, I'm not declaring any shows until the Devils write the ship. Things are trending in the right direction, but uh until things are better for them, I'm
I got one for you. Um, it's pretty show that I'm kind of in the show right now and the Penguins are coming to Vancouver in a couple days. True. So, which brings me to your city that we were able to go get a dinner together buddy.
Yeah, we'll have to have a couple pops. Hell yeah. I don't know if I owe you anything. I think I owe Merles a steak dinner still for
me. One steak, one Italian, believe. Okay. Okay. Maybe I'll get that in uh what is it? College. What's Penn State called? State college. Maybe in State College. I don't know if there's a steak house there.
Hockey Valley, bud. Hockey Valley. It's next time I'll see you. All right, moving on. My show. My show. I'm going arm dog to the National Capital Junior Hockey League. I don't know if you ever heard of this league. It's
what is it called? National Capital Junior Hockey League. It's junior sea hockey around uh Ontario and I'm shouting out the Van Cleill Cougars.
Wow. They started the season 25 and0. I wanted to bring them to the show earlier, but I didn't want to mush it, but they recently just lost their first game even though it was an OT. So, uh, I just want to shout them out. My buddy's the coach, Hamish Cunning, RPI graduate, Dman. Uh, his son's on the team. He scores a bunch of points. He he pays them in like hot dogs and poutine at the canteen. He's got all these guys that come home from the OHL when they're done. And he he can't give them money, so he just gives them free poutine and hot dogs and stuff like that. So, wanted to shout out the Van Clee Hill Cougars.
It's a little farm town. They got one bar. What the hell is the name of the bar? men do it once or twice. Oh, I can't believe I'm messing that up right now. But they they had a they have a hockey tournament up there, beer league tournament every year. I went up to once, won the championship as a coach. Not a big deal. And the Windsor the Windsor is the name of the bar.
Oh, the perfect name of the bar. And Merles, you sound like that's a place you would work. And your wife would be like, "Hey, where's our money? Aren't you getting paid over there?" You're like, "No, I just eating poutine." And like like you would be perfectly happy with that, wouldn't you?
Yeah. Perfectly. What are they paying you? Uh poutine and hot dogs. Poutine. Yeah. Get free skates.
Yeah. Shout out to them them guys, you know. Merles. I got no matter what league it's in. If you win 25 in a row.
Yeah, absolutely. And to go on the flip side to just to do an update on my slump buster that has not been slump busted. These guys got the slump buster, the Sarnia uh Legionaires. I looked them up just now because you made me think of that with this uh Van Clee Hill Cougars team. Uh the game they almost beat Strathroy. It was a 4-2 loss, but since then they've lost 9 to1, 12-3, 5 to and five to three. So, that was a close one for them. They almost got that one too.
So, hang in there, boys. I'm I'm not going anywhere. You know, the old Slump Buster doesn't hit it and quit it. I'm still with you here. Come on. Let's go, Sarnia. Dig in. Dig in.
Dig in. Yeah. So, that's a little mix of riding the bus and show Minesies. So, let's move it over to Minesies, Arm Dog.
All right. Mindsies for me is what happened to me. I think it was this morning. Maybe it was yesterday. I don't know. I'm on the road. Every day is the same. I woke up to my iPhone doing the update. Like it updated my phone in the middle of the night. So, I got like I I I like I don't want this. I do not want the update. I don't want to deal with this. I like the way it was. I'm like maybe I'm a boomer, but I don't know if anyone else feels this way. I woke up and I have a completely different phone that I did not sign up for. Like the look of it, how it operates, where like buttons are when I go into like text messaging. Now you got to click on the bottom right and before to send a message was a top right. Like I had it down. It was easy. I don't do much on my phone. I don't need it. But just like driving me insane the last day, day and a half since it happened.
And I I I I hate when they do that. Like just don't update my phone without me knowing. I don't know why it did it. It just did it, Merles. That's my
It's automatic. You must You got to go in and on on click automatic updates, I think, in your settings because that's what it does. It It says that like sets the time.
Boomer dog. I am. I am. I like things the way I like it. Don't screw with my thing.
Update came out months ago, Boomer. Finally caught you. They couldn't catch you. You're on the road. They can't They can't
Yeah, they can't track me. I'm unttrackable. Yeah, they can't get me. They finally got me last US. What are we doing here?
Yeah. And I'd updated, funny enough, out of country. Like, get out of here. Leave me alone. Don't update my phone. I like the way I had it.
I know where everything was. Now it's all [ __ ] up. Yeah, I hear you. I hear you. I never like to do them. But I also don't like to look at the little red thing either. Those drive me nuts
when people have like 3,000 emails with that red. I can't have any red stuff on there. So, I end up always falling for the update and then I hate it.
The sun is driving me nuts. People are commenting. But like I Hey, it's it's reflecting off a building down off a skywan. Dog needs a tan. He's up north. Great white north.
All right, let's bring in a guy that doesn't need a tan. Pasha. Uh, my mind's once again, uh, Tom Fitzgerald. He will be my mindsies until this chip is corrected. The lack of action is just still shocking to me. I know it's a broken record, but uh, once again, Tom Fitzgerald.
Warning, the following statements are about to be made by a deranged Devil's fan. The views expressed are his and his only. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt because remember he isn't a Ranged Devils fan.
Yes, we needed that. Yeah. I don't you two games on the road. I don't know why you're so down on them still.
Well, cuz every issue they have is still there. I mean, it's nice they got a couple wins, but they still have issues. So,
they do. It was not like it was not like a believable like here we go wins. Like they hung on. They didn't get a shot in the third period till like seven minutes left in the third period. They were just hanging on and they've won both games by lowscoring onegoal games too.
Yeah. Hopefully that changes here Friday and against Vancouver. Yeah. Get guys feeling good. Get guys feeling good. It's amazing what you can do when you feel good.
What if Vancouver beat you to break their losing streak, Posasha? Well, they're playing Caps tonight. What is probably Ob's last game in Vancouver? I'm going to that one as well. So, I'm I'm kind of hoping the Canucks win tonight cuz yeah, if they're going in on a 13game losing streak and they break that against the Devils, I'm not going to hear the end of that.
Oh my god, this is actually set up so perfect, Murals. This is insane. We'll see. We'll see.
I love it. All right, Grenell, come on in. All right, I am going to call the uh the Hughes shoulder genetics to the Minesies. Wow.
No, I'm just kidding. I can't do that. I can't do that to our good friends, the Hughes. What I am going to call to the mindsies is
science and healthy eating. It is It is just [ __ ] impossible these days to eat healthy. Everything you eat is considered unhealthy for you. Deli meats. I just saw ham got labeled a level one carcinogen. What are
I just heard about this at Beerley two nights ago. What is that? Crazy. Ham is a staple of American culture. That's [ __ ] That is [ __ ] And just a fact like I you know what I go back to? I go back to the video the Pittsburgh Penguins put out Army meeting with a prof a professional athlete Kobe Armstrong meeting with the trainer of a professional team and them saying just go eat some McDonald's. Just go put some weight. I'm trying to do the same thing. I'm trying to bulk right now. I'm trying to get strong. I wish someone would tell me to eat McDonald's.
It's a it's a nightmare. I I can't eat anything. Everything you want to eat is just bad for you.
Yeah, that's that's what they're telling me. Like these they're they're injecting all the sandwich meat with all these like chemicals and everything. They're like it's horrible.
They say they do that at certain grocery stores with like meat. They put like red dye in there to make it look fresh and [ __ ] Like you have to really be careful apparently with like a lot of this stuff. We don't think about it. We just pound it down our gullets and it just goes right into our boilers and our man boobs and we just keep rolling every day. You wake up and you're like, "Why am I feeling shitty?" And you're like, "Oh, it's because I'm getting old. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not a big deal." But, you know, who knows?
I'd almost rather feel shitty and have the man boobs than have someone being like, "Well, that's that's unhealthy. You can't eat that. You shouldn't eat that." It's like, [ __ ] Like, my grandpa was fine. My dad was fine. You guys are fine. I'll be fine. Like, just best you can.
If I want a turkey sandwich, I got to cook the whole turkey now and and I'm going to get my own deli slicer in my kitchen. You know what I was told the other day? Rotisserie chickens are terrible for you because they're sitting under the light and the plastic is melting onto the to the chicken. I thought a rotisserie chicken was like the healthiest thing you could eat.
I My mom used to get those for us when we were kids all the time cuz it was like easy and quick. She just like put it out there. It's already ready to roll and you just mow it down with like a little side that you would prepare like probably macaroni and cheese. Like who like what a meal. So easy. Throw a potato in the microwave for 45 seconds and you got yourself some chicken potatoes.
A Chernobyl potato with a chicken in a bag. Let's go. Oh jeez. Do not take health advice from game notes.
Yes. Oh Jesus. Totally. Yeah. That's funny. I had the same conversation the other night, G. I was shocked by it too. This like all the sandwich. I'm like, "Yeah, I can get some of them the Italian ones. I know those aren't the healthiest thing for you with the fat and stuff, but I thought ham and turkey were considered healthy.
Had an Italian sub for lunch today and I felt like [ __ ] the whole time eating it. And I knew I brought this up, Merl, because I know me and you are on the same page with how we eat. It's just it can't happen.
I just didn't eat today. I haven't eaten today because I don't know what to do anymore. I usually have a a sandwich wrap.
Do you do that a lot though, Merl? Cuz I've if you do that uh intermittent fasting in the morning, it's why you look so good and so young. So I heard that's so [ __ ] good for your body. Just like burns the cells. It puts your body in fight or flight.
Yeah, I've I usually wait till at least lunch. My buddy Connley's been doing some 72-hour fasts,
water fasting and stuff. I've done it, too. That's how I've like fluctuated. I dropped like
You can drop weight quick in like in like I dropped like 15 pounds in like a month. I need the opposite.
No, but you'll you'll if you're working out like you'll shred. You'll lose your body fat. And I think it's very good for Yeah. cell rejuvenation and like cancer cell killing and all that stuff. There's like a lot of health benefits to it. Uh and saunas, I think, and all this kind of stuff. Like we could go on and on and on and on. Like it's just never ending.
Yeah. Who knows? It's always a new gig going on, something new. Whatever. I'm going to go to All You Can Eat Sushi after this and and then then next week somebody's going to tell me sushi's horrible for me. So,
yeah. whatever. I love sushi. So, um my mindsies is obviously going back to some of the Bills, but also the penalty on on um Lane Hudson last night, the Phantom penalty. And I just I got to send all these leagues to the Minesies for the stuff you can challenge and the stuff you can't challenge when you can, when you can't. Going keeping it on hockey last night, clearly not a penalty. Why can we not challenge that? But we can challenge these minuscule tiny little offsides that go on that take goals off the board. Nobody wants goals coming off the board, especially Mr. Ice. It It's just terrible. Like be able to challenge everything or no more challenges. And while I'm on this rant,
why at this point do we even have like linesmen just to drop the puck? Because they just wave everything off anymore.
They they challenge it. They they don't ever call it. So just leave leave them out and have two refs that drop the pucks.
Yeah. Just play like beer league. If you know you're off sides, just dump it in and come back.
Yeah. You know what? It'll be like bubble hockey soon. The puck will just drop out of the roof onto the ice for opening face off. It'll pop out of the ice in the bottom. Yeah. There you go.
Yeah, that's what Yeah, Bill's got screwed. So, speaking of like the sub thing, I don't know why I just thought of this. Um, back to G's point, I remember when I was in Atlanta, I think it was Manny Legacy, the goalender,
little guy, stocky, like he he was like, man, he was telling me about like his Subway order that he eats.
And he's like, I'll take you over there. We'll get it. And it was it was the meteor. Has anyone ever heard of this? It's off It's not on the menu, I don't think. It's like an off- menu order where it's like all the meat, double the meat. And I was blown away that he got this sub. It was like it was like a stack of cold cuts all different kinds like this high and he pounded it. The meteor I was called. It was insane to watch. He loved it. But uh yeah, anyways made me think of that.
Yeah. I um Graham Townsen, I don't know if you remember that name. He actually played for the Bruins. Best
guy. He was my skating coach in Toronto and I watched him get inducted in the Hall of Fame at your thing.
Oh yeah. Yeah. He was I forgot you were there. And uh when we used to work his hockey camp with him, he used to get the all veggie sub
and I was like, "Oh man, like that's professional." And I'm just eating steak and cheese and meatball, but he would get it all veggies. All the vegetables load them on there.
So that's one way to do it. I guess that's all I can get at Subway now is the veggie sub.
Yep. That's the new you. The new you, Mr. Guys. Mo and Mike killed my killed me. They killed me at barely darn telling me that news. But uh moving on, moving on. Time for the game notes cup update. Not really. I always hate.
Here we go. Merles 477, G 456, Arm Dog 423, Pasha 420. Right in it. Were you there last last week, Pasha? Were you dead last on this one or was I?
Yeah, I mean, this [ __ ] 11ame losing streak from the Cox is really kicking me in the nuts.
Yeah, you deserve it. You deserve it. Well, you get at least you're getting two points coming up. Devils Vancouver, so that's nice for you. Yeah, I'm just running away with it. I mean, Calgary stinks, but in the Rangers is a surprise, but the Ducks and Islanders are
No, it's not. Surprise. Yeah, your top four, Merl. Your top four is just like you can't beat that.
No. How did you guys let me get all those teams? How'd you get that whole freaking division dude?
Jesus. Insane. That's That's not going to be touched. Yeah. So, all right. Let's get to the other one. Let's see this one cuz I saw
I saw like I I think I like Hudson's like on fire the other day. a couple points like getting it going. Where's Misa? Is Misa
99 trophy? We got Posasha 264. We got Grenell 248. Merl's 240. And the arm dog 210 30 points behind Misa. I don't even know if he's in North America anymore.
Misa, where Michael Misa, where are you? Like are you with the Are you with the Barracuda? Are you in Junzies? Has anyone seen
Yeah, Hughes almost [ __ ] you more. I feel like Hughes like with that hand injury. That guy was supposed to be a 100point guy this year.
Yeah. Yeah. And Leon uh absent due to personal reasons. Uh right now has missed I think the last three games. So that sucks for me. Uh but hopefully uh handle your business back there Leon and and get back. Hope everything's good. But um yeah, Hugh's hand I noticed like his his hand. Did you see this Pasha?
Yeah. He's still wearing the brace. I think he has a brace like in a modified glove. It looks like his like bottom fingers on his top hand aren't even like holding on to his stick. So like these fingers on the top are like straight in his glove cuz of the brace.
Yeah. I don't know what's his stick like like this. He's virtually like I don't know what's going on with that.
He's not he's not 100%. You can tell by the way like when he's shooting the puck. So hopefully he gets back to 100% soon. But yeah, there's something going on still in that hand. So in the chat here today on Slumpbusters, Arm Dog is going at targeting himself with my
And then uh Rant I see Ranton on your team, Pasha. He didn't play last night. Do you have any news on him?
Oh, was he hurt last night? I I didn't even know that. His shoulder. Shoulder hurt.
Oh, no. Keep an eye on that, Pasha. We might be coming for you. Oh, but is not slowing down.
Oh, illness. It was illness. She was just sick. Just sick. All right. So, all right. That's awesome. That's uh I mean, it's almost over for a dog.
This is brutal. I don't even brutal. Um but uh anyway, moving on. Moving on. We're going to talk some prime Monday night hockey. I don't know if you saw the game last Monday on Prime Armdog. Minnesota at Toronto. They won 6-3. Felo got the hattick and Matthews got his 25th goal. That's your old slump buster Felino. Good for him. I mean, he's been through hell and back with that slump. I mean, he broke the slump buster, but good to see down the line we get out of the Delorean. Hello, Back to the Future, Merles. I saw it coming just a little while too late, but you're right, an old slump buster attempt by me with Felo.
Good to see a Hattie though from him. Wow. Also on Prime coming up tomorrow night is the Coast to Coast. You know what that is? Where they're popping around all the studio or all the games in the studio. So, that's something definitely to tune into. And then next Monday, next Monday is a game I'm definitely going to be watching. Prime Prime Monday Night Hockey, it's Ducks at Oilers. Um, two exciting teams. Lots of goals coming in that one. Hopefully Leon's back by then to get to see McDavid and him go nuts. I love taking two points for both of them anytime they play together. But that's the Prime Monday Night Hockey next week. Stream NHL action on Monday nights. Prime Monday Night Hockey is available free to Prime members up in Canada where you are Arm Dog. Start your free trial today at ww.primevideo.com.
For the full Prime Monday Night Hockey schedule, visit primevideo.compnhl. Prime Monday Night Hockey. There it is on the bottom. Ducks Oilers. Love it.
Awesome. [snorts] And then yeah, games tonight too. Murals, you want to get right into it?
Yeah, let's Wednesday night for you. EBR, baby. What are you looking at? Six games. I'm a part of one of these games. Pittsburgh in Calgary. Boots on the ground in the saddle dome. They are building their new rink here, which is cool to see. It's like the skeleton is kind of getting up. You can see like a formation of the bowl. I was going to take a picture and post it and be like boots on the ground in Milan. The Olympic rink is looking like, you know, it wasn't even close. Yes, I was going to do that the other day, but I forgot to do it. It would have been great, but uh kind of cool to see here in Calgary. Anyway, who you got? What do you got? Six games.
Yeah. So, I'm going for I'm going for that prime Monday night hockey already. Anaheim. I'm going to get a look at him tonight in Colorado. Um I'm on the ABS. Obviously, ABS minus one and a half. If you watch an Avalanche game, especially at home, they can just turn it on at any point and cover that minus one and a half. And if it if it it is only a onegoal game, you know, McKinnon sniffing that empty net. He's just going to go on the super boosters or nature's super boost and they'll go. So Avalanche minus one and a half versus the Ducks.
Then I'm going out to the west. Out west I'm going Island Islanders cracking over five and a half. Seattle had a bunch of games where they were playing under and that's when they were winning, but recently it's been going over. And the Islanders somehow play a lot of over games, too. So I I see that five and a half. I jump on that right away. minus 118. And then this is the point parlay I was talking about. I'm going to try to get it up on the DraftKings sports book later. It's Larkin a point, Linen a point, Gunther a point, and Schaefer a point plus 760. I love those odds. And uh that's going to be my big play for the day.
Oh boy, I love that. I love that one that you're doing. That was like what you hit on last time, like all these points, right? That was your big play when you when the busy bets hit and you hit that one. And it's fun too because you're watching all the games and just check mark check mark. All right. And then zero in on the last guy.
Plus 760 and those games are spread out. So it takes care of your whole night, you know, a fun little wager. And then also on DraftKings, you're usually getting a little boost. There's a little 20% boost in there, 30% boost. So it makes those odds even better. So use those boost. Make sure you go to your homepage and check that out.
Absolutely. Little tips from the EBR legend himself. You ready to move on to the next one, bud?
Yep. All right. Thursday night. Here we got it right here. Eight games. An eight game Thursday night sked. I will be boots on the ground. You can see right there. Pit in Edmonton against McDavid. I don't know if Leon will be back yet, but um always cool to watch those guys live in person as well. Uh eight games. What do you got?
Yeah, I'm going for the first one right away. Two of the hotter teams in the league, Vegas and Boston. I'm not taking a side there, but I'm looking for Eel to get two points back home in Boston. You'll get good odds on that. That's definitely a plus play. They're not out yet, but that's that one. And then Sabres, Montreal. You talked earlier how exciting Montreal is. We know how exciting the Sabres have been over the last couple months. So, over six and a half there. That place should be rocking a huge game up there. Then I'm going down to Carolina. Carolina minus one and a half. Home verse Chicago. same type of thing as Colorado. They're just they're a beast at home and if it comes down to it, Aaho will sniff that empty net.
Vetchnikov, those guys just love getting those empty netters down there. So, uh, look for that. And then I tell you, I'm previewing this Monday night, this prime Monday night game. Ducks Edmonton, but I'm going to Edmonton here. Pittsburgh at Edmonton. And I'm just going nice and simple. You'll be there. Boots on the ground. McDavid, two points. And that's usually around minus 120 on the DraftKings sports book.
Let me just look at something here quick with that or you I think I counted last night. It's crazy. I think McDavid's gone only seven games or six games or something without a registering a point. Like I mean he's a multi.
While you're if you're really doing research, look up how many points he gets against Pittsburgh. It's one of the teams that
he's been cranking it out lately. Like like tries to one up Sid. So, I thought about doing them both two points, but I'm going to just go with the McDavid there.
Yeah. Yeah. [ __ ] McDavid. How do you stop him? I don't know. I don't know how you stop him, but hey,
how do you stop him? Uh, the answer is Nico Heir. He actually put him in handcuffs last night. Broke a 17game point streak against the Devils.
So, well, and I think he his 20ame point streak was snapped uh a game earlier. So is that and then did the next game look look him up. Did he did he got his 20 games point streak snapped where he had like 46 points or something?
He had that snap when dry saddle missed the wild. Yeah. But then 17 straight against the Devils.
Wow. And then Nico put him in handcuffs. So yeah. Hopefully he just runs cold a bit here. Hopefully for the pen sake he runs cold. Pens keep rolling baby. Let's go. Let's go.
Not for my sake. Not for your sake. He get his two cookies and then we can get away. You're saying he's in a slump cuz he missed one game. Arm dog
couple games in the last three. I mean that's for missing seven games without a point only on the season is pretty crazy. But
it's not like he didn't have chances. I mean he's buzzing all over the ice. He's electric. Like
he set up a pass last night in that game too. It was like it was Buchard to McDavid to Heyman and it like hit his skate and bounced away from the net. And I think Louie de Brusk is like Heyman's had a lot of pucks hit him in that area that go towards the net. This one away from the net. It was just like really cool saying that he that he said about Heyman, but like the execution on that it's like just McDavid. Where is he? He's just like everywhere and just quick plays. It's unbelievable.
And Libbyy's just chirping him in the chat here. Went to McDavid's for a drink, but no cups.
Oh, Libby. I told her to take it easy on me today and she's going after McDavid instead.
Libby. Libby, come on. That's not nice. Be nice in the chat. Where's Singy? Singy, police this thing. Captain of the chat. Police this thing, baby.
All right, there's your picks. Mon, uh, Wednesday, Thursday night games. Uh, check socials. We'll have things post. Uh, EBR, Merles, will have it all going. Game notes have it all going.
Uh, Libby loves you too, by the way. She's And now, and now what has become everyone's favorite part of the show, Arm Dog, who you going to call? Slump Busters. If you're in a slump and you need a bump, who you gonna call? Slump busters.
All right, congratulations NSM Codri. Another satisfied customer in an absolute depths of a run. Anderson traded. Our pets heads are falling off. Um, Cadri with the only goal with his team. Get on the board. He got it done. They lost, but he got his goal. The slump buster happened last night or the other night. Um anyway, new target and this one is just so perfect, Meros. It's so perfect. I I love this guy. I like him. He's going to be a hell of a player right now. Benjamin Kindle, rookie 18-year-old for the Pittsburgh Penguins, 11th overall pick in the draft. 99 points for the Calgary Hitmen here in Calgary at the Saddle Dome is back in town. And listen to me, he's gone 17 games without a goal. He's had some assists in there. He does get some opportunities. He is playing with Mantha who had a couple points last game in Seattle. Brazo, the Twin Towers on either side of him, flanking him. Brazo
with the goal uh last game. So, his wingers are feeling good about themselves. But the kid kind needs me, bud. He needs me. He's been targeted. Kidy in his hometown, family, friends, his old junior buddies will be there. His billets, his like, you know, the boosties for the hitmen will be there. All the fans come out to watch their guy, their kid come and play. Everything's lining up, bud. And in this road trip as well, we go to Edmonton and then we go to where he's from also, Vancouver. So, two different stop offs on this western road trip that are connected to Ben Kindle. I told Ben Kindle yesterday at practice.
I let him know the slump dogs got him. He loved to hear it. And I got to tell you, kid, tonight's your night in your old junior barn at the Saddle Dome where it all used to happen, where you're comfy and things are good and everyone's there cheering for you. There's Kindle jerseys in the stands. It's gonna happen. You've been targeted. The slump dog. It ends.
I love it. I love it. Army, when your boots on the ground for one of these, it just makes it even more exciting. The one with Felino, you were between the benches.
No, that was Landiskog. That was a Landisk. Oh. Yeah. The guys were like, "Oh my god, the slump buster."
Well, we got another Fino you were too cuz I remember I was, but he didn't get it. He had like
He didn't get it, but they were talking about it on the broadcast like, "Oh, Arm Dog almost."
Pino got interviewed at the start. and he's like, "Well, Armdog, the biggest slump buster in the league, is here, so it's a good night for me." So, um, Kendall, nice player, super smart player. Um, bright future, but he's been dry right now in the goal scoring department. So, I got to get the kid going. The kid will be going here tonight.
You're getting him going. That that just makes it even more exciting to watch that game tonight.
There we go, folks. 9:30. Yep. So, another late night for me here, but that's it for us. We covered a lot today. Great show. Farm dog.
Matthew in the chat. Ben Kindle plus 1,000 anytime goal. Is that right? Whoa. Merles, why don't you look at that, too?
I don't know. I'm not going to fall for the fake news again, but I'll have to check that out. I know that was
That's the same fake news guy. No, that was Aryan or Adrian, I think. Okay. Yeah, we'll look that up. What's he saying? No, he's saying no to the fake news joke. Oh, it's a joke. Fake news. They're getting us all over us today.
What is he? He's probably Maybe I'm not even on there. It's been 17 games. She might not have made the the list.
You You want to You wrap up the show, Army. I'll try to look it up quick. Okay, you get it for me. Everybody, thanks a lot. Sponsors, DraftKings, Body Armor, Prime, Monday Night Hockey. Um, check all those products out and and view uh that Monday Night Hockey run through um that we ripped also. It's pretty pretty awesome the way they do hockey. So, um please remember to check out those things. Um, you can always find us on audio, on Apple, Spotify, and Amazon. But, uh, please subscribe to us, like us, comment on YouTube. Please come to YouTube. If you're watching on YouTube, go subscribe. Give us a little thumbs up, a like, a heart, however it happens. Um, and yeah, that's it. My boots on the ground at the Saddle Dome tonight.
Yep. Ben Kindle plus 500 anytime. Plus 2500 for the first goal. Gets it right out of the way for your arm dog. I'll put a little something on that over at DraftKings Sportsbook.
And if he doesn't get it, it just gets deeper. But he's it's lining up like he's from the Vancouver area. Also, Merc give him one of these before the game. Arm dog, please. I'm going to get him one of those.
Slide one of these into his bag on the way out of the hotel. I'm going to get him one. Absolutely. I love it. Let's go. Ky Slump Dog. Slump Dog's got you, bud.
All right, guys. Thanks everybody. We'll see you guys next week at 12 noon. Who knows where the arm dog will be.
Nope. Under. Under. No goals. No goals. It's time to check the game notes. I think we're going to have the show of the year here.
We're almost having magical moments here. Show Mindsy's time. Army show start us off. What an opportunity. Another idea by me. Everything's Marose's idea.
