What this episode is about

A quick recap of current sports headlines: the Winter Olympics and USA hockey are in focus, while NFL combine buzz, upcoming quarterback expectations, IMG's internal story, and notable PGA and NFL debates shape the weekend slate.

Key takeaways

  • Combine week: hype vs. reality—risers matter more than pedigree, and a 40-yard dud can sink a top prospect.
  • Overrated or not, the combine shifts narratives faster than a headline, turning sleepers into stay-worsts overnight.
  • USA hockey, Pebble Beach, and cartel rumors prove: sports fantasy thrives on drama as much as data.
  • The real takeaway: draft chatter paints trajectories; what actually matters is performance under pressure and consistency.
  • Weekend hype amplifies small moments—one great route or run can reframe an entire athlete's ceiling.

All right. All right. All right. We are back guys. And hell yeah, it's America weekend, baby. We got the Winter Olympics underway. US hockey plays today in the semis, but obviously when we win today, the big game is hopefully on Sunday. And it's looking like our little little neighbors up north are struggling right now. But hey, we are here. We're talking and we're with the boys. Jets,

let's go. How are we doing, man? Let's go. Show wingo. Show wingo. Let him see it. Let's go.

This is the first time Bobby's seeing me with with the whole the whole hat, the hair. Um,

a lot has changed on Dave since the last time we saw him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Since Super Bowl, dude. It's

his hair. I've been growing this out. This is two weeks worth of growth. And uh and yeah, just in time for the big weekend, baby.

Oh, yeah. Perfect. Is that what a homeowner does to you? Just hair. That's going to be wingo next.

Yeah. This is This is what stress. I thought you were supposed to lose your hair when you buy a house.

No, not me. I grow it, baby. Oh, man. What a what a day. We got uh like Dave mentioned, USA hockey uh in effect. Obviously, Winter Olympics obviously in full effect as well. But we got a great slate today for you ladies and gentlemen. We got NFL combine. We got the interesting story going on at IMG right now with uh with the cartel apparently. Interesting stuff over there. Uh USA hockey PGA coming off Pebble now at Genesis Invitational. Another signature event over there. Then we got some debates and of course our dude of the week. So why not kick it off to our guy Wingo over there. We got combine going on next week. What are the thoughts going into this time of the year?

Yeah, man. So I'm super excited. you know, NFL combine 2026. Um, a lot of guys that, you know, everyone's going to be excited to see. I think the biggest thing is, you know, I'm looking at quarterbacks, right? Guys like Fernando Mendoza, you know, you can't, you're not going to have a bad combine. We talked about it like, you know, quarterbacks never have a bad pro day. You never have a bad combine, right? It's routes on airs. Be efficient. But now it's who's going to be the risers of the combine. Who's going to stand out stats-wise?

Who's going to run good times? Um, you know, I do think it's super overrated, right? a 40 yard dash. You know, that's something we we brought up. Um, you know, guys who run a 4-3 to 44, right? It's it's quick lickety spit, right? It's it's quick timings and that's the difference sometimes in one of the draft you one of these higher picks. Uh, but I really really do think there's going to be some guys that rise and some guys that fall. So, I think it's going to be interesting, exciting. All the NFL GMs and agents are meeting. Uh, so there's a lot of things that are going to go on uh next week and, you know, I'm excited to see it all come out.

Wingo, what's your 40 time? Uh, so let's uh current day current day. Current day. I actually think I think I'm faster than what I ran. I ended up running a 47 at Proday. I was testing a little bit faster, but you know, that's what everybody says.

Yeah. Yeah. I remember when I The cool thing about the combine, that's what I ran right now, too. That's crazy.

Maybe for a chili dog. The cool thing about the combine to me is always like uh like Wingo said, it's probably the most overrated weekend or week in the world, but it's also like dude, these kids come in there and like go up two rounds or down two rounds based off one week of work. So, it's like it's impeccable for a lot of people like like pawns. Everybody has the questions about his size or whatever, but he goes out there and runs a 43, jumps 44 in. Now, we're like, okay, we really don't give a [ __ ] that he's 5'10.

Like the kid obviously is a freak. He's going to be able to stack up with these guys. So, always look forward more than anything not seeing the guys that you know are great, but seeing who's going to step up, uh, who's going to stand out and separate themselves and show those traits that, you know, escalate and throw them up the board.

Yeah, I definitely want to talk touch more on on draft stuff, but Bobby made an interesting statement. Draft week is the most overrated week of all the weeks in the world.

Combine. Yeah, the combine. No, not the draft. The draft is the greatest week of the world. The combine is overrated. The draft electric.

What? What did I say? Did I say draft or you said draft? Okay, my bad. I meant combine. I meant combine.

You putting words in Bobby. Combine is the most overrated week of the weeks. Now I'm curious like what other weeks might be very overrated.

H doesn't have to be sports related. Overrated. Overrated weeks. Overrated weeks. I

I don't know. Comments. Let us know if you guys got any uh an overrated week. Overrated week.

What's an overrated week? Or or events or events. Uh let me try to come up with something here.

Right. Hooch, you got anything over there? Overrated weeks. I don't know. That's tough.

Can uh listen, I'm I'm a big chat GBT. I'm a big birthday guy, but a lot of people aren't birthday people, so I'm sure they'll be like, "My birthday is overrated day."

No. No. Cuz that's never just a day. That's Yeah, exactly. That's a fun birthday's on Wednesday. It's like, "All right, you have a dinner Wednesday, then it's then it's Thursday. Well, we're going out Friday, and then Saturday they're they're going out together. It's like a whole week thing." So, that's never that's never just a day.

Let me see. I'm chat gbting some of Art Basil. Art Basil here in Miami. I could I could get behind that being an overrated week. Uh

traffic's crazy. At least that's anything like that that's like really not that great, but there's nothing else going on, so everybody tries to flood into one area and just makes it miserable for everybody. Anything like that is overrated.

Yes. I mean, I don't know if Chad GBT knows that I'm in Miami, but everything it listed here is Miami or

they're tracking you, Andre. They're tracking you. They know. All right. Well, enough of that tangent. Um, right here. So, I want to I want to ask you guys a question, right? Uh, one of one of the notes that we have here. Um like how important are interviews in this process? Obviously we talk about like the physical component and you know all the statistics 40 yard dash the vert uh you know strength test things like that but h how important are these interviews like seeing these guys personalities and and kind of how they are.

Yeah. So I would say interview process is the number one important out of everything. Right. Right. When you look at college football, you got guys who can get away with, you know, not being as smart, not knowing the scheme because they bu they build it up to be something around that specific player. You can get away with playing against guys that are a little under your size. Let's say you see a SEC team playing a lower level team and, you know, FBS and you never know. So, I think the interview process is what separates everybody when you look at a guy who can go on the board and write both 22 players on both offense and defense and and explain that and not just their positions, but other positions. So, I think it's super important for these guys to be able to not only just explain what they're doing it, but how they're doing it and why they're doing it and the other the other obviously positions around them. And

then it just goes back to, you know, what type of person are you? Are you confident in what you're saying? Do you understand what you're saying? And then it's just, you know, if you can if you can teach something, you know it, right? And that's what everybody says. And I think that interview process is the key factor when GMs and coaches look at some of these guys. you know, this is a guy I want on my team because not only is he going to understand and digress the playbook, he's going to be able to teach others, which makes everyone around him better. So, I think at the end of the day, if you're able to kill the interview process, you know, your draft stock is going to rise no matter what.

Well, there's also like I remember last year a big thing with Shadore, right, was like that his interviews, I don't know how much truth there is to it, but a big story point was that

in his interviews he he didn't necessarily kill them or and honestly some some said that they went very poorly. Yeah. And clearly it, you know, could have had a massive effect on why he dropped as far as he did because he going into that he was like supposed to go right after Cam Ward,

you know, he goes through the whole process, combine interviews, and then he does have a drop. So, there's got to be something to it.

That is true, Bobby. Anytime you uh Yeah. Anytime you uh you know, you go through that process and you you act like the team needs you and they don't need and you don't need them and then you get out of the combine and then you tell, you know, teams, I'm only meeting with this team or that team because I believe I'm a top three lock. Why would I meet with this team? Uh, you know, it's going to rub people the wrong way. I think there's probably a lot more to it than we know. So, I'm, you know, I'll leave it at that. But the combine's interesting because it goes both ways.

Like Wingo said, you can hide a kid behind a scheme and from the world so long. You put them in that room, you put a whiteboard in front of him, you tell him to draw cover two, drop nickel, you tell him to do all these things. You can't hide from that no more. You're right there. We know what you know, we know what you don't know. It takes 5 seconds. Uh yeah. Also, I like the little story lines that come out of the combine like, uh, we gave this guy a playbook and told him to look at it and tell us what it was and we asked him about the last page and we had a $10 bill. He didn't see the $10 bill, so we know he didn't look at the playbook. Or like you'll hear like players like I remember Dez Bryant met with the Dolphins back in the day and they asked him if his mom was a prostitute or something and he was like I don't want to be a Dolphin now. These guys are crazy. Like you hear all kinds of crazy

stuff that comes from the combine and I look forward to that stuff too. I'll say another thing too is is your first impression right for the most part when you look I one thing that always I look back at is um Pete Carol taking his shirt off with DK Metaf like something like that. Like this guy like has energy he's fired up, right? he's getting in there and and that just starts the meeting off great. So, I think, you know, to have a good impression, right, to to rub these coaches the right way. Um, and just, you know, understand that, you know, these guys are going to be obviously your coaches, but you need to find a way to make them like you and and obviously doing something crazy can be negative or positive, but hey, I mean, DK Mechaf getting Pete Carol to take his shirt off, I think, was definitely something that fired him up to get him drafted.

That's Yeah, that's electric. Do you think there's teams that I guess have better processes? Right. I I feel like there's there's definitely pretty standard operating procedures when it comes to going through these processes with the draft. But are there teams that just do this better, right? When it comes to scouting, when it comes to asking the right questions, really getting to learn a lot about these guys, right? Because you can watch all the tape in the world. you could do all the things that pretty much every other team was, but what do you think it is that other teams that, you know, have been very successful like the Patriots, you know, now Seattle and, you know, a long list of other teams that have done well in the draft versus teams that for whatever reason just cannot figure out the draft well.

Yeah. So, I'll tell you this. Look, all every single 32 teams, it's different, right? There is an outline of what it's supposed to look like, but every single organization does things slightly a different way, right? You have those that have a a group of people that, you know, make ultimately make the end decisions, right? They go to the film breakdowns, they go to the interviews, they go, you know, what is 40 time, all these different things. Then you have some organizations that go through that same process, but one of the guys higher up, the GM or head coach, whoever it might be, likes someone a little bit more just to draft them. So, I think that's what separates sometimes having a good draft, you know, and what you're doing is obviously upstairs, the guys who are upstairs making the ultimate decision, you know, is it just one or two specific guys or is it that panel of people that are really putting all their

input to be able to make the right decision? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. To piggy back off Go ahead.

No, no, go, go, go. To piggyback off what Wingo said, I think that 80% of the work is already done. If you're hoping to make a decision based off the combine, like true,

most of the work's already been done all year. You've watched these guys. You've been You got all your scouts going regional, West Coast, East Coast, Northeast, Central. They're going all over the place. You got a good board in place. The combine is to make your decision. So, like you're 80% made up like Wingo said. Now, we go to the combine. I love this dude even more. May maybe Wingo agrees with me now after we meet him. Maybe I'm like, you know what? You were right. There's a red flags there. I'm off. And uh and I think that's mostly like the where the 20% of the work comes in. 80% of the work's probably already done. you you know they always say go back to the film if you're in doubt go to the tape you know what you got in the tape so I think 80% of the situation's already established you just got to meet these guys and see if there's a bond there see if you could take each other's shirts off and flex

and eat gummy bears uh you know that stuff matters but it's not at the end of the day the teams that draft good are always going to they were already that was already decided long before the combine I mean they got the right people in place they're doing the work year round they got the right people in the building I mean that's just and honestly you can have a plan in place but it's You got to go right. Right. You have the same, like I say, you have the same layout for every meeting at the combine, but Wingo walks in and he might hit you with a curveball. Now, this meeting is a totally different meeting. So, you can have the right stuff in place, but you don't really know what each player is going to bring and how each conversation is going to go.

As long as we're not using PFF to ultimately make decision here, that seems to be a uh a fanon thing, right? We feel like we're the smartest guys in the rooms when we read these PFFs every every single week and want to rip every player that's uh not not highly ranked on that PFF. But I mean, how much weight does that even carry at all?

Yeah. Is there is there value to it? Yeah, I think PFF has a lot of value because at the end of the day, it shows how consistent you are, right? Compared to other guys, you know, you see if you're playing a lower level team and then a high caliber team, you know, are you battle tested? uh PFF can show you know how consistent you were throughout the entire season you know up ranked against you know different guys you know what was your strength of schedule who were you playing so I think it's definitely valuable but it's something that can also be skewed very well because if you know if you have someone who let's say a quarterback for example throws for five 600 yards a game and has some crazy game but then is consistently throwing for 100 yards their average is just statistically going to be higher so those are things you got to look at um but no PFF can be very useful and valuable but that definitely can't

they'll all say right to you making your decision in the draft. For sure. Yeah, it'll be it'll be an interesting week. Uh I think we'll have a lot of storylines that'll come out out of this week. So excited to to kind of keep this dialogue going next week and see who you know who won kind of in the combine, who didn't win in the combine cuz you always have those guys. It feels like every year. Um but outside of that, right, we we're kind of in this uh weird transition period into the season. Obviously, a lot of teams prepping for the combine, but but teams are also working on setting themselves up for the offseason, right? We saw what the Dolphins did um this this past week, right? Um just pretty much let go of everyone. Momes restructured his contract

um you know, to open up some cap space. So, I I want to talk a little bit about like

how this whole cap situation works, right? Everyone calls it like a little bit of smoke and mirrors, like you can manipulate dollars in so many different ways. Um, but you know, some teams are in really crappy situations like we talked about last week and some teams are are in better. So, I want to get your thoughts like on the overall cap situation, like kind of what the Dolphins did um this week, and are there other teams that are in very similar spots?

Yeah, I would say one team that stood out immediately to me was the Kansas City Chiefs. You look at somebody like Patrick Mahomes, who's obviously the veteran player, he's the quarterback, is willing to renegotiate his contract in order to save space for the team to whether or not they want to draft a guy, extend another guy. And that's something a lot of these teams are going to be looking for, right? Who on the team are veteran guys that we know that want to be here, want to win football games that we can go to to make a little bit of changes to free up some room, right, for the team to go out and get somebody. And I think that's the important thing. Um, you look at the Dolphins, right, Halfley and those guys coming in um obviously making making some cuts and now they're looking, you know, are they going younger? Are they transitioning to a whole new rebuild? Are they looking for a new team? You know, who are they going

to draft? And they need to understand that, you know, that costs money at the end of the day. Nothing is free, right? So, they got to go out and and find ways to free up room in their cap space um in order to, you know, obviously they have a the 11th pick of the draft. Um they're going to look to are they going to do trades, you know, to maybe go up. I know some of the mock drafts you see guys like Sony Styles, Caleb DS, you know, depending upon where they go have to making sure that they can yes, obviously afford them, but be able to do the certain trades and extensions and maybe new contracts for those guys that are already down in Miami.

Yeah. I mean, can Kansas City, we we know what they're opening up cap for over there.

Rey, Mr. Reek, and they're actually going to bring two over there, too, just in case Mahomes, you know, goes down against

something. Somebody send the trade, please. Um, yeah, the Reek one. Uh, it's crazy because obviously like just outside of like contract wise, right, Reek,

we know how good he is, right? In my opinion, I had this argument a couple years ago. I thought he was the best player, non-carterback, best player in the league, but he is coming off a pretty catastrophic injury. So, I'm curious like what his market actually is going to look like. Um, he was in Kansas City the other day. Obviously, he was he started there. He won a Super Bowl there. So, it's everyone's like first prediction is he's going to go back, but I wonder what his market's going to be like coming off of this injury. Like, how much is like he's such a speedbased player that, you know, I'm curious to see where he lands. I've been seeing a bunch of memes where um where like all the washed up wide receivers they somehow end up in Tennessee. Uh like so I'm not saying Reek is watched because Reek was still incredible before he went down last year. But like it's like that that trend of like Julio Joe and DeAndre

like they all ended up like there's like like they've been already memeing Reek to death in in the Titans jersey. So we'll see where he goes. But I'm curious to see what he gets cuz he is you know coming off a pretty

Reek t we talked about Tennessee last week man. Reek to Tennessee actually could be interesting. Listen, I like what they're doing, too. But it is it it has been funny like it has been a almost resting place for kind of older receivers.

Reek's not going to Tennessee. We we got Chimray DK over there who just obviously broke the rookie NFL record. Tyreek St. He's staying out of Tennessee, man.

Well, Reek I think right after the news broke was on a flight to Kansas City. He was there. So,

no comment. Yeah. He's He's such a He's such a troll though, bro. like he knows like he knows every single thing that he does on social media just to create a reaction it is genuinely incredible.

Yeah. Any other teams, you know, that we want to keep an eye out now uh for in cap and just kind of like strategic moves before?

Well, for me, the one that's super interesting is the fact that the Seahawks just won the Super Bowl and they are in the I think it's the fourth best cap situation.

Yes. Yeah, we had mentioned that last week. So they they're somebody to just like I'm curious to see what additional moves they make because I mean the team is loaded. Obviously they just won the Super Bowl. So like how much better can that team get this

they got to retain a lot of guys that are, you know, big names that are going to be free agent.

Well, Kenneth Walker was one that they they're pretty much going to he's Super Bowl MVP and they're going to walk away from him supposedly.

Yeah. What what's your I mean I've seen obviously they're looking at you know not tagging him, not re-extending. What's your guys thoughts on just, you know, how do you go from a Super Bowl MVP to somebody who led your team to that victory and then be like, "Hey, by the way, we're going to let you go cuz we we don't want to pay you now." Even though, right, we have some of the most cap space uh that's left to be able to pay guys.

I think uh yeah, normally you don't see an MVP. I There was somebody asked that question. How many times has a person won Super Bowl MVP and then got let go the next offseason? And uh it's probably never. Yeah,

I mean it might be I think this is also proof of how bad the running back market is and also they do have Sharet. So like they do have another play person in place and to like kind of like what Andre was telling David they have like six studs that are free agents. So like do you want to keep your defense intact and you have a running back at home? Maybe it's not Walker but you have a running back. You can find a running back. I mean running backs you could draft a running back every year in the third round and have a new running back.

So um they have those questions. It's like it's not just we have a ton of money. They have to pay six stars. So, you're not going to keep everyone and maybe, you know, unfortunately Kenneth Walker obviously deserves to get paid, but

that might not be where the value stands on their chart. So, you know, Yeah. But like to your point, it's the Super Bowl MVP at the end of the day, right? Like this ain't this ain't any other running back. Uh and and that's to say that he had a great postseason, obviously great year. Um has been great for them all, you know, through the course of the last couple years for them. But but it's that whole conversation that we have every year. The running backs just like are the ones thrown to the side. It doesn't matter who you are, what your name is. Like look at Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry basically didn't even have a market when he left um

Tennessee. Tennessee, right? And and then all of a sudden it was like, okay. And then he goes to Baltimore and balls the [ __ ] out because he's a stud, right? So, it's like whoever ends up with Kenneth Walker will probably, you know, get a pretty good deal for him and I'm assuming will be very successful wherever he goes. But, it it is crazy that you're a Super Bowl MVP and it's just like, yeah, we're just going to let you walk.

Yeah. I will say though, like 90% of the time when a team doesn't pay the star running back, they normally don't look like idiots. Like, normally it's like true, too.

Oh, I see. Okay. Cuz like running backs probably have the biggest fall off in NFL. It's probably like the lowest average of prime year. Um, but you know, Saquon made the Giants look stupid. Obviously, Kenneth could do the same. It is though.

There's a little bit of fact and statistics to back up the research that you don't give a running back a second contract.

So then a guy like Devon Han, do you give him a second contract? Well, HN has a little something going for him where like Han could literally line up at slot for 17 games and you would never have a drop off. He could literally do that. Mhm.

So, to my opinion, him, Gibbs, guys like that have a lot more value because they bring their you could go get a stud in the third round and put him at running back

and move HN over to slot for 50% of the snaps and he could do that for you. So, HN gives you a little more versatility, a little more option.

Yeah, I know. It is crazy to see, you know, if it does happen, an NFL or sorry, a Super Bowl MVP getting, you know, released or whatever it might be. But, you know, looking at Seattle, is it the worst decision? I don't think so. Because when you look at it, you have Char obviously coming off of an injury. You have, you know, draft picks where you can draft somebody that's a little bit younger. And Seattle is such a complete team. So, you know, obviously losing Kenneth Walker would suck, but they're still so much of a complete team on defense, offense, special teams that they're going to be able to make up for that. So, I think that's the difference when you looked at, you know, obviously, you know, Derrick Henry leaving Tennessee. You looked at uh Saquon Barkley leaving the Giants. Yes. But were the Giants good already? No, they weren't. So him leaving the Giants and going to SE or Philadelphia who was a

successful team and had Jaylen Herz has all these guys and now is you know going crazy and doing his thing and is getting paid. That's great. But you know Kenneth Walker leaving Seattle. Seattle's already a team who just won their Super Bowl. They're successful. They're winning football games. So I don't think Seattle's going to look look stupid if they end up making this decision. One, Charbanet. two, you can pick up another guy um at running back position because he's obviously they're they're the position that gets beat up and beat up the most and it has a a less of a lifespan in the NFL.

Yeah. No, absolutely. Absolutely. Well, yeah. Every Bob, every year in the every year in the draft, you just see like those running backs just stack up in the third, fourth, fifth round. You can go get a guy. I think Kenneth Walker was a third round running back. So, like I mean like it's just that's how it works. And also to Wingo's point, you look at Saquon and what he did in Philly, but Philly was prepared for Saquon, right? They had a system in place. They were a Saquon away. They had the best O line in football. It does look bad. But like he said, what does he do in New York that year? Like what if he stayed in New York? What did that really do? Yeah.

They probably win six games and it's just like, oh, Saquon's awesome, but like what are we doing here?

No. And then they get Scatabo and then it's just Hey, that's a that's a great point you just brought up yesterday. Scatabo said that, did y'all hear this? Scatterabo said that he was considering retirement cuz he looked at like Puka and Tula and what's happening to these guys and he's like, "Dude, I could probably make more money just streaming." It's honestly something you got to consider.

Yeah. Odyssey. I mean, he's I probably watch. Yes. 100%. He's like mustwatch. Like

who? Uh Scotty. If he went into streaming, like I'm sure he'd make a ton of money. Like he would be to He's fine. Like he'd be fine.

Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I wonder what his longevity in the NFL is, bro. Him and Dart, too, cuz Dart's another one that's

It's not even like his football. Well, yeah, Dart, too. But it's not even his football field stuff. It was like at Arizona State just banging your head into a concrete wall like he's giving himself his own.

Those are guys that I need on the Dolphins. I need head bangers. You already You have one.

Who? You pay him $52 million. Oh. Oh, yeah. But that's very different approach to get a TT. Exactly. Oh man. Uh I also realized that uh I we were supposed to start with hockey. Did Did we get enough of the hockey in the window or or

Well, no, I noticed with the jerseys going on and we haven't We got to split it back.

Let's bring it back. Let's talk some uh USA hockey. Talk the boys. Dave I just went straight to NFL combine. So that's on me. Um let's talk USA hockey. Electric electric overtime win. Oh my god, dude. That was I I'm going to be honest with you. Like I I was a little bit nervous. Like I I was nervous because I was like this is this first off um they're a good team, right? It's a full NHL team, right? And uh and like the three on three overtime is truly anybody's game because it's like it opens up the entire ice and it's just like I mean you can see you saw the how many shots they got, how many shots we had like like it's not like five on five where you can go periods without even having a shot on goal. if you're not having shots on goal on three on three, like

you're just probably a terrible team. So, it was it's one of those that like anything can happen. But then Quinn Hughes stepped the hell up, man. That was awesome. And then I think that was cuz we didn't really play very well in that game to be honest. Like we we had been playing well up top point, but we were a bit sloppy and the fact that like I'm hoping this is that was like the wakeup call of like, hey, you know, we're here to to to go for gold. Like we can't slip up now. So, I thought that game was electric. I'm very excited for today's game. And then obviously if we win today, Sunday morning. Actually, let me check.

Yeah, I was gonna say how's how's that uh Canada Finland game going right now. Canada

because that's 8 a.m. on Sunday. Who Who do we play? We play um Oh, they're still down 2-1.

Okay. I mean, it's a game. Wow. How much how much time left? I don't know. This I don't know. The Olympics thing doesn't doesn't tell me

the time stuff. But today we're playing Slovakia, by the way. just answer answer that part of it. Um

it looks like it's 19 minutes uh in in the third right now. 18. Okay. So, they got a full third period.

Yeah. Um but yeah, that's great. I mean, listen, there's two things, right? Obviously, if Canada were to lose today, like it's obviously an quoteunquote easier path for us, but I don't care. I want Canada. I want Canada. I want I want to steal the gold from Canada. Our little neighbors up there. Little neighbors in the north. All right. We are coming. Yeah, you had your little four nations moment. This is the big leagues, baby. All right. This is America. All right. This is This is You're lucky IF WE DON'T CONQUER YOU after this damn thing. All right. Coming for you, Canada. We're freaking coming, man.

For anyone that doesn't know, last year, uh Dave went on another uh rant about USA. What was it for, though? It was

It was It was No, it was for the Four Nations. Four Nations. There you go. We We won the Four Nation like that. We won won the game and that final

they won in overtime and it was incredible. But uh I I did have to bring out the this guy that you see here fourth. Um nothing gets me going

like supporting the nation's teams. All right. Like when it goes to hockey, the World Cup, I don't care. All right. You got the USA jersey. We we forget about everything. All right. Who cares what's happening? THAT'S MY DAMN COUNTRY, BABY. COME ON. UM, so yeah, especially and obviously there's, you know, we're not talking politics and stuff, but there's a lot, there's a lot of noise between Canada and the US. All right. So, it just added a little fuel to the fire. We, you know, we decided to,

well, I decided to really go after a nation. And, uh, and they let me have it. I'll tell you that.

I wish we could pull up those comments. Yeah. When we lost, that was the first time I have ever experienced like

the DMs, the the hate mail. Like, people were coming after me, dude. People were making comments about your wife and [ __ ] like that. Like or no, no, what did they say? They're like,

"This guy could never get a wife and we're all like tagging his wife in the comments."

Yeah. No, we I was going back and forth. And in the DMs, uh Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was like the first like experience. I'm like, "Man, imagine if I was like actually really famous." Like like imagine what these people get every day. Like I got like a small taste of it. I'm like, "These this is crazy,

but I love it, BABY. BRING IT ON. WE THEN proceeded to boost it into Canada just to give him some extra.

Yeah, we did do that. Yeah, we did target all of Canada. So Dave Dave's definitely got a wanted sign in uh in Canada.

I'm not allowed I'm not allowed in the country. So um they have a wanted poster for me in there. But uh Wingo, you're also a fellow jersey wearer. Give me your thoughts on this Olympic run so far. And uh what you're thinking, LET'S GO AND GO.

Dave Dave, let me let me let me let me tell you something real quick. So, I I woke up this morning at 5:00 a.m. You know, want to know what I turned on my TV first? This great amazing movie called Miracle.

Yes. Yes. And and there was a few words that were said, you know, I had to skip to the end of the movie a little bit, but there was a few words that were said, right? Great moments are born from great opportunity. And I'm fired up for our first

I'm getting goosebumps. I'm getting goosebumps. 3:00 today. I'm ready to kind of get after it. uh seeing these guys have an opportunity at gold. Women's obviously winning yesterday in the

world in overtime uh huge for us. So, you know, I think you know the men having the opportunity today is huge, right? Obviously, I'm with you. I'm with you, Dave. I want Canada regardless. They better win this game. I'm almost rooting for them just because I want to play them on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. Eastern time. So, wherever we are, if we have to go to Elbow Room, we got to go somewhere at 8:00 in the morning to watch USA whoop up on our little brothers up north. Yes,

we're going to be able to get it done. Oh, Wingo. Somebody play Freeburn right now.

Wingo's got me hyped, baby. Oh, man. I want Canada so bad. Yeah, I want they better win this damn game. Canada, you better win today.

I'm waiting for the goal to happen live just so Dave can go crazy. Wait a second. It's two-1 still.

Oh my god, my thing says 00. Oh [ __ ] They took away the goals. No, no, no. I'm talking about the time. I'm talking about the time.

No, it's 15 minutes. 15 minutes. All right. All right. We're good. We're good. Unless the shit's like super behind over here but

yeah. Listen, little bro. Meet us there, bro. So, does does uh hockey run through the US now?

It will on Sunday. I'll tell you that much. Hockey runs through Florida. W I'll tell you what, you we forgot to mention him. We forgot to mention him. the all-time best duo of brothers, right? The Kachchuck brothers leading the way. Um, you know, I saw a video talking about guys what their rankings were on NHL and uh I I I think the one of them was that was their lowest ranking was like temptation or something or discipline, right? Just to punch somebody in the face, get guys fired up. I'll tell you what, those two brothers are something special, you know, every time to be able to go out for obviously United States and and and work together and do something crazy. Um, you know, obviously our our guy Matthew representing

the hometown Panthers, you know, two-time backtoback Stanley Cup champions. Oh, yeah. But I'm these two brothers get me fired up and, you know, I want to get on the ice myself at this point.

Oh yeah. Hell to freaking Yeah. Kaka. Uh, outside of hockey, have have the boys watched any other events? I know we had uh Yeah,

curling. Curling. Absolutely. Curling on camera. we found out last week is probably not the best thing to uh you know uh

wash your hands boys showcase on you know it just doesn't doesn't demonstrate well on camera

[ __ ] clip it I don't care I'm married what's the worst that can happen the hands watch your hands

I was going to ask y'all though uh um get it out sorry I got a weird text message you got a weird text message on camera Yeah, go under your wife.

No, that was actually the Canada president talking [ __ ] about David. Oh [ __ ] Anyways, uh or what do they call it? They don't call it a president. They call the prime minister.

Prime Minister. Yeah, I think it's prime minister. Yeah, the governor of 51 is what they call him.

I told him I told him to pipe down for up those tariffs. Um what the hell was I going to say now? Jesus Christ.

What the hell was I saying? I don't know. You were going to ask us something. You're like, I got to ask you guys something. Oh, what was the scandal with the can Canada curling team?

Oh, I did see that he double touched uh I don't know I don't know where it netted out, but the the other team and I I forget who it was was uh accusing them of cheating for double touching uh

I don't know what Well, they said they had a history of it. So, they said they set up to make sure to watch it at that segment of the the drop or whatever. And like they were like, "Dude, you're still doing you're doing it. We're watching you." He's like, "What do you mean?"

I don't think he got penalized. I think they just accused Oh, they won the gold.

Did they win the gold? They won gold. Asteric gold. Huge ass. Huge asteru. So, Canada's got to cheat to win apparently.

Listen, this is what I'll tell you about. Hold on. Let me say this though. If you don't get caught, you wasn't cheating, dog.

In my opinion. But they didn't get called cuz they they got caught by the guy losing. They didn't get caught by the people that matter.

Yeah, I guess that's Listen, this is what I'll say about Canada, too. for a country that's like, you know, a cold country. Like they they're cold. They have they're cold up there.

I'll tell you what, they're locking in their gold medals. All right. I I'll tell you that much. You know, we're I think we're lapping them at this point. I think we've got triple the the medals that they do. Um you know, Canada. Oh, Canada. Uh remember what was the song? It was I did their national anthem, but then I I flipped it on to US.

Oh, man. I don't know if I can remember. I don't remember. Uh, Norway is actually technically winning

the land of Havland. Yes. Norway. Norway. I've just got to pull out a dub this weekend at Genesis.

He had a nice start. He had a nice start. Yeah, that's what you say every weekend then. Where is he on Saturday and Sunday?

What the hell? Where is he on Saturday and Sunday? He was bitching about his tree. We'll talk Genesis in a little bit, but bitching about his tree. What the [ __ ]

He's a content machine, dude. He is He's a meme. Um, he is a meme. But yeah, that about does it for uh for Olympic talk. So, we'll see what happens this weekend uh with some USA hockey and hopefully the boys are celebrating on Sunday. But let's pivot from a pretty crazy story over at IMG Academy. For those who don't know, Big High School, you know, one of the most of you probably know, but if you don't know, yeah, one of the biggest high schools down here in Florida, one of the biggest breeding grounds for sports, uh, you know, across the whole nation, um, was I'm going to read this, uh, IMG Academy, worldrenowned sports boarding school in Bradenton, has agreed to pay a 1.72 million fine after federal investigators discovered the school has spent years taking tuition money from individuals linked to the Mexican drug cartel.

What the hell? Insane. Insane. Um, you know, after doing a little bit of digging to understand this situation, right? Obviously, when you

caught like, so, so apparently there's like a a system, right, where, you know, you you you have to you have to track all these payments that come in, right, and and make sure that they're viable money and and it's coming from clean dollars and all that stuff. They don't they didn't do that essentially. But apparently the people that are there are parents of athletes at the school and what and they're not a they're not part of the cartel but they give money to the cartel every single year.

So we know right right they're not with the cartel. Right. But essentially they give this this these two families give money to the cartel every single year.

That's crazy how that works. And so essentially they got flagged in the system right as people that should have never been able to pay tuition to the school. But IMG apparently didn't know, right, quote unquote, and uh was was taking money from these families for over the course of the last couple years. And it was just them basically paying tuition. It's not like the cartel directly was giving them money, but these are people that have some sort of affiliation because they've given money to the cartel and they should have been flagged a [ __ ] minute ago, but didn't. Um, so it is it is insane. It you know, the headlines were like the cartel gave them money, right? Um, which that would have been [ __ ] a [ __ ] show.

Cartel's funding academy. I mean, the fact that there's even a connection to the cartel in in like high school sports, like I think that's what we want to talk about here, right? Like how much of this maybe is going on across all of sports, right? Like we've heard like I remember early on with the golf stuff, right? With the Saudis, right? And how the Saudis and all this dirty money and people were like, "How are we going to take money from the Saudis?" Like clearly everybody wants to get into sports, right? So, how much you think dirty money is involved in sports?

If I This is a great question for Wingo. Yeah. Listen, listen. I'm just here to play football and that's nothing.

But, you know, hey, when you look at it, you know, money is money and and these schools are generating so much money and, you know, if you got, you know, old Jimmy at the park who's a great ball player and you want to get him to an organization like IMG, right? How do you find a way to do that? Obviously, there's going to be cases where, you know, some things are legal and some things are illegal. People are definitely doing it out there. Um, you know, IMG obviously one of the most prestigious schools all around the country. Um, you know, I went to St.

Thomas, so I didn't have a chance to play IMG. Um, you know, I always got pissed off at the rankings of them as one, knowing they can do all the recruiting and all that kind of stuff. Uh, but yeah, you know, they list this as this headline as the, you know, drug cartel being involved. Um, you know, it baffles me to even think that this isn't something going on at other places. It has to be, right? The pe these people show up sometimes with money. How do you afford this tuition and all these things that you have? Um, you know, and and obviously now we know IMG's might be dealing with the cartel, but um, you know, it's crazy to know. I feel like it passed over so fast, right? It's like we heard about it, they paid the fine, and now it's done. Yeah.

So, I I feel like there's some more questions and some things we don't know about that we're waiting to kind of find, but I feel like it just came and went really really fast and no one really knows anything.

Yeah. Yeah. I I don't Have you guys seen that show uh Land Man on uh Paramount?

I've heard about it. Yeah. Great show. Uh but great family. Great family. Yeah. Great. But I mean there is like that, you know, when you talk about like money is money at the end of the day, right? And one of the things that happens in that show, it's like, you know, long story short, basically the cartel and the oil people share the same land, right? Like, and they've basically like been able to operate without getting in each other's way, but then [ __ ] starts happening and then it exposes a bunch of [ __ ] But like the lead cartel guy basically is funding later on in the show all the oil business. And they like, we don't care.

We know that your money is dirty money, but it's like money's money at the end of the day. So you could say it's drug money, but you know, it's really money coming from all these other things and he's just moving his money through

through through oil, right? So in this instance, it's almost like maybe people are just it's dirty money, but they also have legitimate businesses and they're moving their money through through sports. So to to Wingo's point, I do think a lot of this is happening, right? But it's not

Paulo Escobar saying, "Hey, here's here's $10 million IMG." Exactly. You know, no, when I think about money too, it's been everywhere, right? You might reach for a dollar in your wallet and you have no idea where that dollar came from. I don't think Pablo Esquire was knocking on IMG's door to be like, "Hey, can I pay for some of your kids to go to school here?" Uh, but no, it's crazy to think about, you know, some of the things that we don't know about if and will something come out about IMG with some more details and, you know, really what was actually happening. I will say this, the FBI might be showing up here at any given moment because it just recorded my whole conversation on my Apple Watch cartel Escoar.

Hey, they're going to walk my Apple Watch would go off on that time. Like, what the hell?

That's insane. They're going to walk in and see David in that that get up and go, "Oh yeah, these boys these boys are up to no good." The

cooked and and wait and wait till I send Pablo Escobar if I use NIL. He just did a whole USA rant about anti-Canada. Oh boy.

We're cooked. We're cooked. We're so cooked. We're cooked. Well, I'll say this. There's there's some scandal, but something good came out yesterday. An awesome story. Uh, Florida Senate passed a an act called the Teddy Bridgewwater Act allowing coaches to use personal funds to assist players. And I think that's a win. That's an awesome.

Yeah. So, wait. I just want to get back to this. Teddy Bridgewwater was punished for something that you now made a rule for and are allowing. So, you know, huge kudos. Kudos to to Teddy Bridgewwater um, you know, bridging the gap, right? making a difference so that these people can, you know, help some of these athletes, whether or not it's equipment, uh, traveling, getting to practice, getting to games, stuff for their family. Now, this is something that is allowed. You know, we think about NIL in and college football in high school. You're telling me your head coach can't, you know, go buy you a meal down the street or get you an Uber to practice. That's crazy.

Yeah. Kudo to Teddy Bridgewwater for bridging the gap and, you know, doing the doing the punishment for something that is now going to be super highly credited and condoned for for coaches all around the country.

Yeah. No. always at that time when that happened. Yeah, I think it was always crazy. I think it was like probably like y'all asked how IMG got caught. Probably a hater. There's always a hater. You know, Derek Wingo's parents are mad cuz they're not ranked number one. They're call they're calling the Iceel lines. They're trying to do whatever they can. Uh it's But they go and win at a high level and all of a sudden Well, of course they did. They got NFL money funding the whole thing. No, it's like this dude's back in his community helping kids out. Who cares?

He's buying lunch and paying for Ubers. Yeah, he's not giving him $2 million in a Cadillac. Like,

by the way, that that's not the first time some [ __ ] like that, like a coach has done something like that, right? Like,

oh, for sure. But like, not saying that's illegal, like you know how many times our coaches like All right, so like in high school, everybody knew game day, bring $10, that's going to pay for your team meal or whatever. If you didn't though, they like they they patched the difference. The team, the coaches all came together, paid the difference. We did fundraisers and stuff, but like they came out of pocket a lot.

No, Bobby team meal. You can't have team meal. No. Exactly my point. I was like, what do you what I don't know what they're expecting here. That's just kind of crazy.

Yeah. I mean, we're we're glad we're on this side of it, right? Like the fact that it wasn't a thing before is a problem. Teddy, you know, set the tone and and provided the example of like this is necessary and maybe even knew that there was the the risk of the punishment that he got, but here we are and

we should have been here a while ago, I think, is is really the thought on this. I do have one uh one thing just it's sorry not even on this topic breaking news

Canada tied it Canada tied it up so okay you could have saved that I I knew you I knew you were going to say that uh but yeah that uh that story crazy story uh let's talk some golf now right we had a big week at Pebble last week uh great tournament um honestly

electric was awesome crazy ending I was waiting for Scotty. I I mean, I was so I know we always got to find a way to talk about Scotty, but it is crazy the Sunday that he had.

Whatever he did or whatever he ate for whatever cereal it was, whatever he put in his milk. I mean, to see him, you know, Eagle that last shot to get to to 20 under was was something spectacular. And when I was listening to, you know, the broadcast of it, right, it's like they had no doubt that he was going to do that. He was right. He was at 18 under and it was like, oh, when Scotty Eagles this on 18th, he's going to put him at at 20 under. And I'm sitting there like, he hasn't even picked out his club yet to hit the ball. And he came out, picked his club, hit it, and darted it, you know, 5T from the hole and made it for Eagles. So, you know, he's something special. And that tournament was was definitely electric to watch with, you know, the environment, the weather obviously being an issue, the wind and the rain. Um,

such a hard course. What a tournament to be able to watch. Yeah, I think I think Scotty had three bogeies on Sunday too and still shot a 63.

Unreal. If he if he plays a cleaner round, you know, someone say choked. Play play clean. Scotty,

he went he he could have won that tournament by two strokes even shoot on what it was Friday a 72.

That's the thing that's been that's what's been killing him. The Thursday round today.

By the way, even Yeah, this yesterday five over. You finished. He was last. He's last place. And I'm cur see where he's at now. But he's Yeah, he might. By the way, this one was like two over.

And this one's got a cut. So, um, that's what I always say. If Scotty came out strong from the beginning, no one would ever have a chance. It wouldn't even be close.

No, he this dude like doesn't wake up to a midday Friday tournament. So, he must have finished two three over

three over. So, he must have Yeah. Cut lines plus four. So, cuz they Well, what happened was that he was plus five in last place and then they they ended it. They p and he resumed this morning. He's Oh, okay. He's one under through one. So, here he comes.

Yeah, here he comes. Uh, but I we got to talk about Colin Morawa, right? He struggled a lot last year and and and I say struggled, right? He he didn't have a bad year, but for Colin standpoint, Colin, you know, obviously was always at the top of these leaderboards week over week a couple years ago. And we saw the Colin that that

has made Colin so great. Great with his irons, great with the short game. when the putter's on, he he's there now up there with with uh with guys like Scotty obviously and

and and seeing him play at that level is is like what we've seen with guys like Colin, right? Guys like Victor Hofflin, guys like Sah Dala, right? Other guys that need to now be the guys that can contend with Scotty, right? Um Godup, right? One of the hotter golfers last year already has a win this year. Um

two two I think God has two wins this year already. Really? Oh wow. That guy, that guy's on fire.

He is on fire. He finished, he finished last year on fire. He's again on fire this year. I think he finished top 10, top 15 last week. Um, and he was up there in the leaderboard. But other guys like Jake Knap, Ash Batia, right? Batia

is on fire Thursday through Saturday. Thursday, Friday, really. Saturday he's cooled off and then Sunday he he puts together kind of you don't know, right? But he's a guy that you figure has got to win at some point. Yesterday I know he started off hot. I don't know where he's at this weekend right now. four under if I'm not mistaken.

Um but you know, you got a lot of guys that are off to hot starts that found rhythm going into it and you know, you're back to back now. Two signature events, right? Pebble last week and now Genesis Riviera, which weather was a [ __ ] show yesterday.

Um it is c like I want to get your thoughts on like the signature events, right? Uh obviously stacked fields, there was not a cut line this week. There's kind of a cut line uh this week, but what are your thoughts on it? And the fact of backtoback shows like, okay, we're really going to push for these.

I I personally love them. Uh to be honest, I think it's cool that you have these. It it makes people care about other events, right? Like guys like us, like we're going to watch it anyway, right? We watch

every random tournament weekend that that's on. But when you have these signature events, it brings more value to a Genesis, which is is just a cool course. the Arnold Palmer, um you know, the memorial pebble, like

it makes these count even more. And then it gives, you know, you're still having the other events, right, that people are still playing in, right? It doesn't matter signature or not, but you're also get giving like not the the top players yet a chance to get into those signature events to then compete. Yes. So, I like I like it. At first, I was kind of curious like how is this going to work? Are people only going to play the signature events? But you've seen it. Guys are still playing the other. Are they playing it as consistently as probably the past? Probably not. But it's also at the same time giving other guys opportunities to compete. And then, you know, you have some of these really cool stories that then launch them into these signature events. So, for me, I'm a fan of them and obviously it's they're playing for so much money at this point.

And like the the purses are big. So, these guys are like, you know, obviously you want to win every tournament, but these guys are like, you know, you want it. It just gives these other events outside of the majors

and the players because it's kind of the fifth unofficial major, but it gives them more value in the sense of like now you win an Arnold Palm or you win a Genesis and it's like

maybe it's not the level of a major, but it's a level above a lot of other tournaments.

The purse is nice, the points are nice. Like it it does create kind of like an exclusivity from like a fan perspective. Like you're only getting the best of the best, right? So you know you're going to see some of the best golf there. the field's going to be that much more competitive. There's the I guess the counter to all of this is like h these guys right that are 120 130 fighting for their PGA tour cards are letting are having less chances now to be able to have a chance to play in a signature event play in the playoffs and even deeper hold their PGA Tour card. And somebody brought something up interesting is that this is going to force another golf league

to come to life. Is Liv going to then take a lot of these 100 to 140 guys and then just become the other golf league?

Yeah, that's that's an interesting like I I think that could definitely be possible. You know, one thing I think people don't realize is these golfers are tremendous athletes. Yeah. Right. When you realize that you're playing, you know, three, four days in a row, you're playing 18 holes all the way to whatever it might be all four days, it's a lot on your body and to play tournaments back toback can be very, very difficult. I can't even imagine, right? I struggle to get through 18 sometimes. So, um I think when you look at these younger guys who are looking for opportunities, right, I can see Liv pivoting right over to adding some of these younger guys for for for the talent wise and to just get some more people over there. I think it provides an opportunity because I don't think Liv's going to be able to last just because, you know, if you think about how they got started was the big flashy

money and paying a few of the top guys to come over, right? when when you talk to some of these guys and you know you look at them when they are on tour and they're doing it it almost looks like they're not having as much fun when they're over at Liv. Obviously, Liv's supposed to be the the fun part of golf and it's a little bit more laid-back, but they understand that when you're looking at guys over in the tour, it's like, oh, you're not as respected is what they say. Uh, right. So, you know, I think Liv's got to make a few changes.

Um, and I don't see guys lasting long over at Liv just going over there for some of the money and then coming back to be Yeah, the money grab being over to go back and and, you know, play with those top guys in tour.

Yeah, they lost Brooks already, so there's that. And then you got Bryson, you know, Rom, which are the other two big names.

Rom Cam Smith. Yeah, but Cam and Haden are the biggest Cam Smith guy. And Waco.

Yeah. Wa wo is an interesting one. Wo plays so well. He needs to just do it at the majors, too. But

Exactly. Exactly. Cuz that's the thing. These guys can still play at the majors as long as they qualify, obviously.

Well, and now they have the they get the world rankings. They get the world the world rankings now. So, they get points there. So, they can play themselves in. So, the majors are the majors and they will always be the majors. They seem those seem to be, you know, untouched and not not really affected, right? It's the battle between the PGA Tour and Liv and you know who's going to get the guys.

PGA Tour has taken a stronghold and it's going to be interesting to what happens with Bryson Dambo, what happens with John Rom. The next guy could see he's been kind of quiet, right? Dash the Shambo's still been like a

a supporter of Liv and kind of been behind them, but Patrick Reed now also gone.

Oh, that's right. Cooking on the DP. He's cooking on DP. He won last week. Yeah. No, no, he's on fire.

So, he'll be playing in majors, right? And then he'll be 27 eligible. So, it's curious to see these big names like to your point, Wingo, that

took the money or it's it's not sustainable, right? So, if they come to the tour, then really what is the Liv become?

But they could take on a lot of these other guys. I will say though that Liv did just get a huge huge win

with Anthony Kim. Yes. The Anthony Kim story and his win at at Liv Adelaide. Two wins. That was a huge one from a storytelling.

Exactly. From storytelling aspect of it. It's like that was such a huge moment. Um honestly like I I I wish I nominated him for dude of the week because that story of his comeback to now

he honestly deserves to be dude of the week. He that that was such a cool way to see and also the way he did it. The fact that it was between him, Ron Bryson and he smoked those guys.

He poured back. Yeah. and he absolutely obliterated them on Sunday and like from where he was last year he was awful. Like he was the worst. He almost didn't make it thou like over over 2,000 in the rankings.

He was he literally almost got relegated from live to then this season getting his first win in how many years of just playing golf. Like

it's an awesome story and that that's like yes, you know that that was a huge great for them. So like I'm curious but like how much does that goodwill go for? And then also like you said like

it really is all on the shoulders of a Bryson Rom and if they live lose those guys it's I mean it's kind of over. I don't know what

they did I think apparently recently like right before the season start also get the number one college golfer

they did yes they did get so that's obviously big for the sake of like the future if they start getting guys like that. Um, but it it is we're always going to have this conversation, right? But it is interesting to see when you guys got like Anthony Kim win and like the storytelling behind that and everyone rallied behind that. And honestly, it almost felt like it was a bigger storyline than Colin winning Pebble Beach, right? But deserved at the end of the day, right? So, it'll be interesting. But, real quick, who do you got for Genesis this week? Any any uh any Of course you're gonna go Victor Hofflin. Why do I even ask? I

I got I got one for you. His His name is Min Wu. Oh, Mini. He bowled out last week, too,

dude. He I mean, he could have he he could have won. Yeah, he could have won. He was close.

Where is Men Woo right now? Let's see. I don't know. But I'll tell you where Hav is. He was three back going into day two.

Men's two under. Hasn't teed off yet. He's four back, but hasn't teed off yet today.

Matt Fitzpatrick is in the lead right now, but he's already four under for today. Yeah, I have a Fitzpatrick ticket. So, nice.

I do have a Fitzpatrick ticket. Uh, my ticket is on. Where is he? He was he was up there yesterday. Let's see. Oh, Mr. Sam Burns finished one under yesterday, but hasn't teed off yet today. So, we shall see. Uh, Minw like that pick. Uh, Batia's up there again. Um, Rory won back. Don't love that. And hasn't teed off yet.

Yeah. Yeah. Rory had a good day one. He Rory had a very good day one. Um, but we'll see. Electric electric start to golf. Um, and that takes us to our debate of the week. Who, and this is a Bobby. Shout out Bobby. This was good. I like this was this was fire. Uh, most underrated athlete right now.

You know, you can give me credit for the topic, but it's not easy to not easy to me. But I really liked it. I'm like, [ __ ] that [ __ ] makes my head spin a lot.

Yeah, cuz I actually try to think about it and I'm in the shower. I'm like, [ __ ] Uh, I think it's easier to talk about like all time most underrated players, but like to think modern day, I mean, I think

that's tough. I think just the easy one. Obviously, I watch the Dolphins a lot and I can pair these together.

I think underrated's got to be you could tie them together. Aaron Brewer and Patrick Paul, you know, Aaron Brewer, when he came here, people thought, who is this guy? He's undersized. He's never going to hold it down in the middle. He's turned into an allp pro center. Like, he does his thing week in and week out. Patrick Paul when we drafted him everybody said what at this high like what are you doing he had bad tape bad feet bad hand placement raw as can be they had no shot at development and then he sit behind Armstead for one year and he starts this year for the first time and he's just plugandplay forget about it so uh to me I think both of those guys are uh highly underrated and Patrick Paul a little deserving I mean first year starting yeah I get that but nonetheless those guys are awesome

Brewer for sure I mean [ __ ] didn't even the first um the all what is it the the pro bowl

pro bowl but was like first team allp pro like make it make sense you know I got a I got an underrated athlete for you not just somebody in specific but all hockey players

I think hockey is one of the most is the hardest for one you're learn how to be coordinated to skate you're hit you're hitting each other you're using the puck you're there's so many different things that go into hockey I think is very difficult and then we got to give a shout out to our boy Chucky

right When you look at somebody who was coming off an injury, right, he was out for most of the season, comes back to play with the Panthers, um, and then just gets thrown right into this this trip with uh, United States. I mean, shout out to him. I I think people aren't giving him the kudos that he deserves there. Obviously, he's a top player in the NHL, but look at someone who was just coming off a major injury, got back mid-season for his regular season team, is now playing for the Olympics. I think I I think that's something definitely that hasn't been highlighted as much going into how difficult hockey really is for guys and the toll that they take on their bodies.

I mean, you get to the end of the season, you realize that you have six bruised ribs, a concussion, you have all these in no teeth, you you got fake teeth in and dentures. So, I think that's something that's definitely underrated that people don't realize.

Yeah. To piggyback on you, Wingo, I like I was actually going to go the hockey route as well and the fact that you took all the hockey players is actually true. Like it's true. Bro, it's the most underrated sport and obviously

playing with like broken sternum. It's crazy. It's crazy. But for me, kind of like you mentioned Chucky, right? Somebody who I don't think is as underrated anymore because of the run that we've had these last two years, but people are always always sleeping on Bararkov, right? And Baroff is somebody that in these two years, people have come to realize obviously how good he is now, right? He's not as underrated as he was maybe just two years ago, but Bararkov has been this guy

for years, like eight years at this point. And uh and I think it's even you're even seeing it now with this current Panthers team. Like obviously we've missed him the entire year. And not that like we're not like fully struggling struggling, but like we're we're going to have to make a big push again to the playoffs and missing Barkoff is such a huge piece. I think like in pairing with Chucky because Chucky's also been out like how important those two guys are to us but also just like leaguewide because everyone talks about obviously McDavid Dry idol like in my opinion I think Bararkov is the second best player in the NHL and that's my take. I I think Bararkov Conor McDavid is number one like he is

he's ridiculous. Baroff for me I think is it should be in the discussion for the second best player in the NHL and he he's rarely was in that conversation. Now he's kind of entered it in terms of like people consider him like probably top five. I would assume five range, but I think he's number two. So

yeah. No, I I agree. Hockey players are at another level as far as like athletic abilities cuz they're doing all that [ __ ] on ice.

Yeah. Like Yeah. It's insane. People want to do that on land. You know what's You know what's funny is that

by the way underrated. Well, you know what? I'm going to make this as my take. I'll make it after.

All right. One of the one of the early thing I you guys remember the show sports science like that show. So one of my favorite I just I remember this like vividly is they had a thing about um what sport gen like who sweats the most after a game

and the winner was actually hockey. Like they had technically the least amount or one of the least amount of time cuz they're always interchanging. But even those short spurts that they're on there, they are they are doing so much 180. Exactly. That they actually even being in the ice and the cold, they are they finish a game and like

they are the one of the most the sweatiest athletes of all. And then two, you look at like you hear stories of of these goalies who will drop like 15 pounds in a game throughout a game like and they're you just think like they're just there all those little moves constantly being like it it's You're you're you're you're balancing the whole time. Like you got to be engaged at all times. You're not on flat land. Like it's it's absurd.

It is crazy. Which I was going to go, you know, very similar route to like Wingo General, you know, general athlete.

Um which I'm going to give them a little love, right? Is is those PGA tour guys that are 100 140, right? Where shit's coming out of their pocket. No one's really seeing the grind that, you know, those guys are going and they're

fighting to make cuts. It's expensive. You pay for your travel, you pay for your caddy, you pay for your coach, right? All these things. You might get some sponsors and stuff like that that help eat some of the cost throughout the year, but those guys are grinding, right? And you've seen guys like Jake Knaps, right? That they come out of nowhere 150 plus and then all of a sudden are

now in the thick of it and making a ton of money, right? But it is a grind to be those guys. But when we were having this hockey talk,

the referees, bro, are freak athletes, bro. Freak. Those those pucks are COMING UNDER. THEY'RE JUMPING up in the air, landing smooth on their feet, dodging pucks, sprinting up and down the ice. Like, talk about athletes, bro. Those I picture myself

being a referee on ice, and you're just thinking, "Oh, you just got to watch the game, make sure no penalties, break up a fight here or there." [ __ ] no, bro. Those guys, every time I see that guy jump clear in the air over a puck and land one, the instinct to react in real time to a puck coming, God knows how fast at you and then land on the ice and then just keep moving like if nothing happened. Breaking up fights, being in the thick of it.

Always on on the ice up and back, up and down, bro. And they they don't have those uh intermission periods, you know, like some of these players have. Like obviously intermission of the actual periods ending, but like they're not getting on and off the ice. like they're up and down the whole time. So, shout out the refs and hockey because it is impressive what what they do.

Yeah. Well, since we since we Oh, go for Bob. I was just me and Joe was actually on the phone this morning and we were talking about the kid from Oregon coming out in this draft. He's a white safety and I remember at first I really didn't like him and then I was like, man, we got to get him in the second round. And this morning a report that came out and said after the combine he might be a top 20 pick. Wow. And I was like, "Dude, it's so crazy." And we started thinking about it. When was the last like real good like white safety? There's not there's only a few and there's like one for every decade. And that made me realize the most underrated player in the league might be Harrison Smith for the Vikings.

Wow. I think you're going to dude put No one talks about Harrison Smith. That dude has been a dog for 15 straight years. Yeah,

that dude is like will come down and knock a motherfucker's head off and then take a pick 90 yard and he's like 33 at this point and like no one talks about Harrison Smith. That dude has had no decline in 12 years.

He is a dog. That's a dog. That's a dog. People do not talk about him enough as being like one of those safeties uh like like you said, how long has he been in the in the league now?

Been there for a while, dog. Been there for 33, huh? Yeah, he's 33 almost what nine years. Nine 10 years.

Yeah. I like it. I like it. Well, before we wrap it up, let's talk about our dude of the week. We did shout out Anthony Kim. Definitely deserving of it, but let us know

who's our dude of the week. Quinn Hughes, baby. Game winner overtime. Um, I mean, more

electric. It's just an electric. And it was just again, like I said, the three on three. It's It's just crazy. And he's a defenseman. An absolute snipe dude of the week, sending America to the next round, sending us to the semis. And hell yeah. Shout out Quint Hughes, baby.

We might have a dude of the week next week because we're going to win the golds. Only fitting.

Three o'clock today. 3:00 today. We're We're ready to get after it. I'm fired up.

Hell yeah. You said Slovakia. Slovakia. Yeah. Interesting. Which, by the way, so breaking news again.

We are talking a lot of hockey. So Canada did just score with 30 seconds to take the lead, but they're reviewing it for potential offsides. So, they're 30 seconds. They either basically they're either going to win the game or this game is going overtime. So, pretty electric. So, after the show ends, tune into that.

Don't tune in yet. We're still here. Well, we're pretty much wrapped up for for today. Any any final thoughts from the boys? Any any last words?

Meet me at Elbow Room 8 a.m. Hell yeah. Wingo. Let's go. USA. USA. USA. USA. Bobby, final words, final thoughts.

No final words. Uh, yeah. Rooting for America, obviously. Uh, unlike David. No, I'm just kidding.

Wait, wait wait. That gets Bobby every time. [ __ ] The FBI. Bobby. Also, fire shirt, baby.

Oh, appreciate it, dog. Let's go. Let's go. Little side project I'm working on. You wouldn't understand.

Great show today, boys. Appreciate everybody that tuned in today. Uh we'll have a great lineup next week. Going to talk some NBA next week. I know we haven't talked much NBA. May have uh our guy Gravis Vasquez come in, former NBA. Uh and um yeah, talk some ball, right? We just got through the All-Star break, so excited about that.

Recap the combine and we'll see what else we got cooking up for next week. But as always, appreciate you guys for tuning in.

Your insurance is trying to play us off, dude. That's on me. That's on me. I made a hard stop, Dre. My bad.

No, you're good. Now, now we're just awkwardly sitting here. So, yeah. Wait, roll it. Roll the D.

Roll it. Roll the D. Roll it. Poo. Roll it. Another great pooch show. [ __ ] wrong video.
