Key takeaways
- Sometimes fictional bullies reflect reality; they’re just as confused and flawed as we are.
- Redemption arcs aren’t just for heroes; even the bullies crave a second chance under the right circumstances.
- The Ozarks backdrop highlights that not all tranquil settings are free from turmoil; danger lurks in the quiet.
- Casting involves more than acting; it’s a social experiment where personalities collide, creating unexpected chemistry.
- Even in a staged script, the chaos of real life — like unexpected cat interruptions — steals the show.

the any that the first lines there was U to to play cool stress a bit stress and she played it so well it was really really well done and Samantha thank you for coming for your first time thank you for having me this was very enjoyable than so much shorter than most of the things I do you were a Wonder thank you thank you see you maybe in a in a week or two all right I think we're wonderful Force Gump next and because it's a mov will probably split into two sections so it's not quite so long sounds good how it goes but it might we might read it into one but most of the time movies we split into two so yeah inter vampire was such a long that was a really long one too so good though thanks bye all right bye byea thank you great job bye Jen I hope hope we'll get to have a conversation at some point then yeah thanks everybody yeah it's I have to get up really early for work so it's it's almost almost it's after 11
now so all right have a wonderful night thank you all you're all to Great bye byebye so yeah I thought when I read the script the first time I haven't seen this EP I haven't seen any of Ozark I haven't even seen any previews or anything and I read script and when he got to you know killing the people in the the industrial and then throwing Gary off the roof like oh my God how's the rest of this series goes like so dark to start with you know and it it took me a while to figure out what Marty was talking at the beginning and of course he's already at the lake and it's sort of right yeah that till I read the rest and I'm like oh okay how I get it this is him reflecting later kind of um wait C you haven't watched I've never even heard of this show and you apparently just binge watched the entire thing but you have to keep mind I don't get live television at my house so you know we have um we can
stream we have I think we've got Amazon Prime and maybe I i' got I got my Netflix last you know 3 days ago so I was like oh yeah we don't have Ozark would be the first one I would enjoy watching so I actually and I'm surprised now that cat you haven't seen the show with you we so on point with your you know dial head but yeah yeah I was like yeah she doing the cat just startor my cat purring and right in the middle of hear you cat Pur I didn't want to mute you yes my my daughter and I are going to watch this series but we have to finish watching you first I haven't watched you I haven't watched you I I actually been watching this new series I think we should do script reads on it's called from I think we should do some some readings from that CU that is it's such a fantastic series it's so good it's in this third season I think just finished this third season and it is fantastic but this kind of reminds me of
it the reason why I'm talking about it is because it reminds me of it a little bit a little bit now is the time now is the time to get a list of the shows you would I will do so hopefully want us to read next season we can't guarantee they we picked the list but you know definitely that's a good one to put down I we have a list for this year I mean for the what that I we we have a list for this we have for this year but we don't have one yet for next year the only thing on for next year so far is Never Ending Story on January 21st I think which I'm G to be there I I definitely want to play one of the charact I don't know which one I want to play up but I really want oh God I have to Bene watch a again now and then I someone had request for Star Wars and I found I'm pretty sure I have a copy of um a really rough draft where we don't have I mean we don't even have Luke Skywalker in it and yeah it
was not the final drop that we did today I think there were lines there were lines in between where I was like n that that's not the line that d d spoke you knowed there is so I mean there also is like when you're in the middle of filming um sometimes people will well also there are improvisations that will happen and people will just keep them and that happens too filmed as well like sometimes you just come up with things on the spot like um the film that we were I was doing a couple months ago it was a short but we had like we came up with this thing right as we were in the middle of filming it was this it was small but it was one of those things you just come up at the moment you're like oh that works so well it's so cool and like you just go it so it's you know sometimes that just happens when you're filming and yeah they keep those they keep that take and that's the take that or they just
add that into the story yeah yeah I've seen quite a few Avengers movies too or Marvel movies where you know like directors will say oh yeah we we'll put that in that's great every every movie of the you know that Avengers make I think they have different directors for every movie so yeah and and Robin Williams actually is is like really Infamous for just doing things on the Fly and they're just like okay he's the greatest improvisor of you know he fantastic improvisor I've read the Patch Adams screenplay like I I was you know it was it was two months ago I I watched that Patch Adams movie like midnight Patch Adams uhuh 11. and I I like the the the the the writing of that movie so much I downloaded this screenplay and I was reading going through lines and I was like no no these are not one not even one of the lines you know not a single lines were same that un popular opinion that movie actually isn't good the only one who
actually made that movie even anywhere good is Rob Robin Williams I thinky fight me on this Aubrey where the lines were amazing you know the way it was well that's last time Rob because it's Robin Williams yeah I mean after after reading this screenplay I was like yeah yeah it was improvised there you need truly good actors to make terrible screens screen plays good D I'm I'm scared right now because I'm writing one uh that is around 10 10 pages it's a short that I'm writing on it's about uh it's about three cousins and uh one of them suicides and the reason behind it unravels in those next you know 10 pieces so I'm just thinking you know of the story interesting it sounds interesting though I I if when you're done with it I'd love to read it some yeah I I've used some check offs gun to in that movie and you know how how I can impose X minina on that I'm doing on it my L yeah and and may I mention that we
have actually read original scripts with table read Tuesdays so that's also song c song I was I was in one of them the s song was one of them I think by Phil I will I will probably take you guys up on that sometime CU I have some original scripts that I'm going to need to when I when I complete it I I I would get get the table read Tuesday to do it first we'd be happy to read it so that's we do this channel so that we have a chance for script writers and screenwriters to have a chance to have their material read so if you're out there on YouTube and you've got a script send it to us I've been I've talking to Trevor Trevor Lee Smith about the script and I'm I'm taking some help from him we we're completing we're close all right guys I do have to get going I abiskar one of these days though I would love to have a sit down with you and we could talk about the three types of villains or the different the different types of
villains I think that fun discussion to do so we should do it some sometimes it would be good auy I I would be delighted you know to talk about the bully The Mastermind the psychopath and you know how the mid villain the looming threat and the the villain protagonist that there is yeah that's what struck me about this script too is there's not a single good person in it really I mean except for the kids you know there might be a few FBI agents maybe but you know except for the teenagers except for the teenagers they're the only ones that are really innocent movie yeah someone told me about it's it's like uh breaking bad but it isn't really at the core of the movie you know it's it's the character our protagonist is is a villain protagonist it's not a looming threat or a m ve but he is a villain protagonist but it's it's so different from Breaking Bad I I don't know how why why one of one of my friend called me like yeah
it's it's like breaking B yeah I mean it's Fram as if he's the protagonist but yeah you think about it more surf under the surface you're like actually Marty's not a good dude either none of them are good are good he's a villain villain protagonist yeah yeah which is an interesting Arc I mean Dell is a really scary villain but if you think about like they're all doing all doing terrible things terrible things pretty funny it's justos so good you know the story whole that we we're rooting for him now yeah they they make it so you you're endearing to him because he loses everything and and even like his like and his best friend but you think about even beforehand when he thought he was on top of everything I while writing protagonist I think that's that's an important thing to to give the audience you know to make the audience have empathy uh for the for the for the protagonist and maybe even
if it is villain protagonist and they don't have to be well and the other thing is you can have different types of protagonist they don't have to be the perfect protagonists they can have their own flaws and their own I mean that's why we have this thing you know Gary Sue or Mary Sue we're getting into this discussion and I have to go but um I appreciate all of you thank you so much YouTube uh thank you so much cat and Vicky and abiskar you guys are always so wonderful just having just sitting here with on Tuesdays and getting to act with you guys it's such a honor to go it's so much fun and thank you all for your work tonight yes it was awesome it was awesome it was awesome I enjoyed it I enjoyed the treating yeah all right bye guys good night Aubrey good night good night night I I just realized it's Tuesday in there right now I'm Wednesday morning and it's going to be afternoon now it's
it's 10 a.m. in the morning and I'm glad I don't have to go school now because you know last every every every table VI Tuesday that I've done you know before I I was like rushing in these discussion phases I to I have to go to school are you done with school then or you just don't have it yeah I've graduated and now I'm getting into college next month so yeah awesome that's cool it is let's let's talk about okay oark beautiful city oark is pretty that's for sure the oarks are gorgeous oh it is I lived in Missouri for like 10 11 years not in the Ozark area but close enough to visit so really really pretty state but yeah I got that section about sugar sugared legs and I'm like oh yes Missouri is also bug Central suar ticks June bugs cicas you know the only bugs I liked were the fireflies which they had lots of fireflies but you really you know a mosquito is the size of birds right it was
ah mosquitoes is danger I have I've had one mosquito female mosquito bit me and I I got I I had to rest for a week I got yeah I got D dangu oh Deni yeah that's pretty awful that's pretty a that's most hated B ever but I hear that the script writer I believe the script writer is from Missouri which is why he said it in the Ozarks if I I did my reading B Bill doy Bill read something about that I could be wrong but um maybe he is but wherever he's from he's a great writer we have to give him that there were some you know references that I didn't understand in between like few references like what like that one Steve something one I didn't know the last one dialogue that D and Marty were having it was like this is not Steve something something it was I didn't get that reference I don't remember it I don't exactly remember line but I didn't get it what I was trying to say there like lack of reference let's see
Ozark went Four Seasons at least it says yeah yeah yeah I'm I'm I still you know I have to go for like Season Two Season three season four I it will take two three days now season one was a back of Buster was why do you say that I don't want to spoil it for you guys spoilers but okay I'm gonna be watching it so oh you haven't seen it yet either Vicki no I I think I think the director of the movie is the the one who's playing Marty right Jen yeah Jen was yeah she's very familiar with it we talked before yeah nice one yeah she what's one of her favorite shows she said yeah I think it might be mine to oh so it looks like the writer for the series brought an FBI agent who worked on financial crimes into the writer's room in order to make um the money laundering scenes as realistic and sensible as possible for the script and they also brought in a hedge fund manager for information about moving
large sums of money so so um to get that sort of plausible feeling yeah all oh but you know they didn't film it in Missouri didn't they no they filmed most of it in Atlanta Georgia uh Lake gatuna and Lake laner because of the tax breaks offered by Georgia so I'm sure a few scenes were actually set you know um maybe some of the establishing shots whatever probably done in the Ozark I love the establish you know the monologue that Marty had at the first the two minute sequence it was the dead catfish and the coolers that was one of the best stter I would say yeah it really established things yeah the com it's summed up what is all you know the money is not the not the measure of your success but it's the measure of your choice choices measure of your choices yes and the options they would take on later throughout the season having and that that one that one 15% uh you know goes something what was that the
percent one 15% 25% and 85% Who U gets to live off one year after their retirement if if they die in one year and that was line that was there was in the monologue too and it connected at the last so it came a full cirle in the pilot it was the same exact line from the monologue they used at the last I call it check off gun I guess let's see that was good it was good um you know after watching it like watching it and you know now now now that I try to relate all the you know lines reading them and relating it to the sheen scene and how how how it all laid down in in in in the acting is this one fairly close to what was actually filmed yeah it was it was pretty pretty close right because yeah this script didn't have any shooting numbers or anything on it so I figured they must have done another draft or so afterwards probably probably as I said there were a few lines you know that were that were
different in the episode so it must have been there must have been changes to the script later on but yeah it kind of it followed that sort of nice I mean there was no acts listed in there but kind of that whole nice five act thing with you know you got your teaser at the beginning and then youve got a couple of establishing scenes with Marty and Bruce and um and uh Liz in the high-rise building there and you know then you get Marty's home for the next section then you've got the whole really long section well at least it felt really long with Dell you know um shooting everybody and killing everyone and whatnot and then another really long section of Marty scrambling to get 8 million dollars and I that was that was what was really kind of shocking you know how many conflicts were were were established how many conf in that act yeah in that second act how many conflicts were there well there's a
conflict between well obviously Dell and Bruce and Marty um and then there's um there's a little conflict between Bruce and Marty because they were debating about that apartment you know the office building they were going to get then obviously set up that conflict between Wendy and Marty and Marty then about that the marriage situation and all yeah the marriage situation there um least three there were there were three inciting events we can we can call them those were three inciting elements and I love how they use that that uh that Oar from the poster to the to the to to the uh you know glossy paper that came out of his pocket when was in on his knees and he suddenly started to you know doze off and start Rec writing this exact lines that Bruce was Bruce told him the same quote unquote lines yeah that there was another chick off SK I noticed there that was a good one yep but yeah Bruce didn't recognize um
the strawberry blonde in the in the porno film that's obviously sped Wendy you know know and maybe he just got a quick Glimpse but I found it I I found that in episode in the last last you know in the ending of the episode that okay that was Wendy I I thought it was some random was someone with now I guess that's the surveillance P to get what is it the it was it was from that Pi PD you know personal detective he he got that with p mhm somehow and the computer's stolen now oh yeah so there's a possibility that it's going to show up I have no idea if it does and I'm not going to say anything you're not going to tell me I don't want to ruin your experience well I'm going to dash okay I think I need to get going too the kitties need their dinner as well and I need mine but munching week is it next week already I guess it is is it two weeks what week what is today I have isn't it might be two weeks it's November 20 today a
regular schedule one so it might be in yeah although what is this this is um because it's not the end of the month yet it's it's 10:5 15 days I think it's in December Never Ending Story I think it's in December now well Never Ending Story in January that much I know okay January okay that was but December is fr Forest Gump I believe and Forest Gump okay Forest Gump Gremlin but I'm not sure which is I think Forest Gump first and then Gremlin second are we going like two parts or single part uh depends on how long the script is um that's it's long it's like 15 160 probably over two days so um we have spaces we have um a date reserved if we need to for um a second reading of force Gump and then but Gremlins we would have to finish in January because of the Christmas holidays and whatnot so let me take a look I'll put it up here on the screen so we can take a look at it um let me close this
out f11 where we at here share SC there it is okay so stop um so yeah we just oh wait no we have we do have something next week because we have wait did we read part two of Dracula we haven't yet no so next week is part two of Dracula yeah I forgotten about that one and so then we go into Forest Gump and Gremlins AG me in for that part two of Tula yeah so you don't have to be you you don't have to have read the first half we stopped you could be in it but you could be in it mhm so yeah part two Dracula so yeah next week so we pretty much have all the next one two three four Tuesdays it looks like okay yeah you're doing great work at the for can all why does that not add up to shouldn't that be 25th today's the 19th 7 days is oh no I guess it is 26th isn't it I can't add it's is 26 come on I can't add 9 plus 7 oh my goodness I must be tired so that should at least be a short one because it's only half a script so
yeah yeah we've gone halfway so yeah so we will see you next Tuesday for Dracula okay all right sounds great I'm going to close our meeting and then I'll post an event page for those who want to read um and then we'll say good night so good night
