Key takeaways

  • The Goonies: a timeless reminder that adventure isn't just physical; it's about friendship and loyalty.
  • A staggering 3,000+ action lines suggest the screenplay is as lively as a Goonie’s imagination — chaotic yet cohesive.
  • Voice acting legends gather to embody timeless characters, proving that nostalgia can bridge generations and spark creativity.
  • Every Goonies character is a lesson in diversity; even a couch-stomping Sloth can teach empathy and acceptance.
  • No social media? Chunk might argue that sometimes, the best connections are the ones made face-to-face, not online.

floor yes this is good of places any to start digging Mikey raises the poker high in the air he brings it down h on the concrete floor Wham the poker doesn't make a dent instead it sends a reverberating slock reverberating shock through Mikey's body why does it say slock here his to his teeth begin to shatter bran shakes his head you sure you were not adopted are we from the same family come on Mikey you're embarrassing me there's nothing buried under here damn it this is the 20th century hey come on hey I know how to get through the cement but herley herley all over the floor let chunk eat them through okay Mouse that's all I can stand and I can't stand no more chunk sudden movement causes the sparkless container to tilt it falls off its base and smashes to to the floor into a million pieces the water flows across the floor trickling into the open fireplace several seconds pass before the water hits the fireplace bottom

light he removes a large Lantern he flips it on it illuminates the pass passage way brand grabs it okay I'll walk ahead with the light walk what about run all the kids run off into the passageway Road and night chunk is running for his life he runs to the side of the road headed back to town suddenly bright headlights come toward him chunk turns he steps into the middle of the road he waves his arms hoping to flag down the car the car comes to a stop bright headlights shine in chunk eyes blinding everything in front of him a man steps out of the car we can only see the outline of his shadow he speaks to chunk is there something wrong look mister I need a ride my friends and I just had a run in with these really gross people you might have heard of them the the ferales anyway we found their Hideout if you could give me a ride to the police station the man motions for chunk to step forward chunk hurries to the man

chunk walks through the blinding headlights he can finally see the car his face goes white it's the black off-road vehicle lined with countless bullet holes Shunk looks up to the man's face it's Jake forelli Shunk turns to run Jake grabs him around the waist he carries the struggling screaming chunk to the rear of the ORV Jake opens the false floor Jake forces chunk inside Jake closes and locks the and locks the floor he gets into the ORV Fran is also here he and Jake drive off rear compartment of ORV chunk again lies face to face with the FBI corpse chunk is Frozen with fear and that's where we'll take a brief break intermission if you will um and I know Tam if you might have to leave um you can stay as like but um if you wanted to leave this would be a good point to do it um my clock says it's been two hours um and we're only about halfway through the script so we if we continue finish about 10: um or whever whatever

the time might be in your Zone wherever it's at be 10 for me out here on the West Coast did you guys want to do the second half of the script or do you want to come back to it in a week or two your choice I'm I'm happy to do it either way if we do it in a week or two I if we do it on the 18th which is two weeks from now I do have plans I won't be able to come but so I could do tonight if that works because I know next week I think is at the there's something happen so today's the 4th um the 11th would be the second Tuesday of the month oh is that free oh then it works that's that's free we don't have anything scheduled for that yet we do have something on the 18 that's murders in the building only murders in the building um staying for two more hours doesn't work for me okay I'm available for next week if we want to continue it next week same okay I could do next week you'll have to recast my rules I won't

be available for a while but I I yeah I I don't blame you guys for wanting to split it up um so I'm hearing a consensus stand for the 11th yeah all right um and I said you said Skyler you're not be here to or would you be able to be here no uh yeah I mean I'd probably be able to continue as brand or you mean next week yeah or yeah whatever whatever the casting is for next week okay Courtney how about you next week is good for me same time yeah M okay so I might have to recast one or two r but otherwise I think this would be a good pausing Point since it is a really long script like I said with the actions and descriptions um it's a lot of fun I love it it's a lot of fun though Jackson have you seen it before no well I haven't seen it in a while it's been a probably since I was very little but yeah no it's definitely it's a fun it's been fun and I don't know where I lost my accent there for like

those two three lines I could not get it back every time I was on mute I was like doing it and I was doing it and I finally got it back but I love this accent he has it's a lot of fun this character I can't wait to be sloth SL all right it's already 11 pm here so I gotta go okay have a good night everyone good night good night you guys can stick around for brief discussion the first half um that'd be great if you need take five minutes first though that would be that' be just fine um you know okay Vicki said five minutes first so yeah five minutes five minutes yeah please all right yep so we'll see back in those who can stay we'll see you in five minutes for a brief discussion of this first half here then so um let's see about 10 after then okay and I'll just leave it running e

next for for for B for okay two minutes of SP I went through and fed my cats so that hopefully they wouldn't be meowing during our discussion I guess I can stop sharing the screen so we can see everybody go and looks like maybe we'll have Aubrey next week if we're lucky oh good so I can't wait to say to Skyler we'll see you in December we're doing Gremlins

is that the only other 80s we have on our list no but it's the one that's in my head so no there's others yeah yeah Skyler we're doing grand we shall see we see if I if I have the time in December um it's a possib it's a distinct possibility put it on your calendar yeah I'm not sure what we have several fun movies coming up too in the few I want to be an Ewok I actually had the book made from the movie of Gremlins way back in the day I love like one of those little short little books that they sold you at the book club in you know Middle School right cool is is Gremlins in the future are we doing it de this year y December yeah ways to go to get there but yes we'll get there eventually so I think it's safe to say that this wasn't the shooting script um the shop and snack that wasn't in the movie I don't remember there's a lot of material in here that was cut um yeah that all this stuff with the

zoo um yeah there's like there was like a whole subplot with gorillas in the original after the movie and they come back later you know I mean when you guys finish it you'll see that yeah um boilers I'm just kidding but yeah it it was some weird thing that that was this whole subplot involving these Zoo gorillas that was cut from the movie um for budget reasons I think well not to mention how you know difficult it is to get gorillas to do what you want yeah done them in suits at that time you know I mean yeah and I don't remember Grandpa in the sleeping in the lounge chair when they were getting away from the house oh yeah I love my character though just like boom and gets Grandpa up oh this character is fun yeah so go ahead sorry no go ahead you go well no I was just looking at the the the revision dates on here and it says you know their fourth draft revised October 12th 1984 um all the dates are 1984 but they

have you know pink blue yellow white pink blue in parentheses behind the different dates I was wondering if that meant something the um the uh stop and snack that part was actually filmed that I think that's actually a deleted scene um that you can that you can find on like the I'm sure you can find it on YouTube it's on the the DVD the Blu-ray all of that but yeah the the zoo stuff was just cut out like completely yeah the different colors of of the scripts are the different order that the rewrites happen in I was looking for my shirt that has like the different orders of them but they'll do a different color for each draft but yeah so like you said those writings were in 1984 and it came out in 1985 so yeah it's fairly close I mean they went from January 11th 1985 is the last revision it looks like here so and then they started to film it and release it right so yeah this is close to the the

shooting script but it's not quite there yet so they went from October through January and like Skyler said like some of it that maybe not too budget intense they could have filmed and then lost it in the editing the cutting floor yeah maybe the zoo stuff I don't know but yeah the the Stop and snack yeah that that that was filmed yeah that's that's out there you can that's yeah I can the the other stuff I think might have been dropped entirely at the last minute because budget reasons and maybe um maybe length reasons as well because the um they probably didn't want the movie to be too long and you know they're they're selling it as a kids movie in the 80s and a definition of long was very different back then as compared to now so that might have been a factor too and the language too I don't know if you how much you caught that I wonder I watched with my kid a few years ago and he was like 10 11 or so and you know I

was all the the and the there s swear words in here and then you know that's the beauty of M yeah they didn't used to have a PG-13 it was just like PG FR guidance than R so it like spans all of that like yeah there was definitely some scenes I'm like oh I should watch before when I watched it you know when I was a kid and I didn't think anything of it so I thought oh yeah Goonies be fine right and then I show like like oh maybe I should have rewatched it first don't worry just like you they'll think nothing of it it probably maybe yeah our media now is full of casual racism sexism and constant bullying from your friends and family over you know every detail about you that is that's how the way friends are really working these days it's it's a good example I came in I always like coming into the scripts very not reading it I don't don't like reading the scripts cuz I think it's fun trying to especially

movies like this where I haven't watched it in forever so I was really shocked seeing Elmer FL fuds I had tried doing impression of on the spot that was interesting I was like not expecting this charact I tried researching this character a bit before coming on because I was like I did not know anything about this kid and it was like fluent with Spanish I was like fluent with Spanish I better not have to do any Spanish I am nowhere even close to fluid and then I was like never said anything about Impressions I would have prepared a little more if I heard Impressions you know I think I did okay yeah it was a lot of fun though lots of references the 80s in the in the script like the Sears and robu um there was you know all the clothing references denim jeans God denim is so popular and they put specific songs in there specific songs you guys recognize the director's I mean the writer's name oh yes should Columbus Columbus

yeah yeah and what else he's done and stuff like yeah he's done I know what else has he done um there was a big one um he did why can't I remember it I think Home Alone Harry Potter oh the first har Potter movies oh there you go small one yeah I did see that didn't realize it was so he's done such a earlier much I think he wrote this but I think he directed those I I I I might be in CLA Skyler do you know more specifically I thought Stephen spilberg wrote it he definitely produced this yeah he produced ited by director's name is Richard what's his last name Richard Donner yes thank you who also did the Superman movie The Original and a bunch of others yes M he's done a ton of stuff yeah very yeah done a ton of stuff like pretty um um was a pretty big director during this time period um certainly and after I'm looking at IMDb right now Lethal Weapon Scrooged oh yeah Lethal Weapon yeah that's right yeah

yeah that was very SC yeah that was like one of his big claims to fame with Lethal Weapon Yeah Yeah Chris Chris Columbus also directed um Avengers and babysitting 1987 alone there's one we should do in the future Mrs Doubtfire um amazing a complete unknown Potter see this first two it looks like and oh the and the third a producer on the third Lightning Thief Percy Jackson Olympians he on that one too so quite a few movies that I recognize and that's pretty impressive since I live under a giant rock other thoughts on the first half of the script yeah a lot of fun there are an awful lot of of actions and descriptions we don't see I think the only other one who's had this many and I think so far as Casablanca yeah I really I think my favorite scene has to be where I was in doing the Spanish and I Wasing yeah and just making this girl had the worst time of her life it was so much fun I loved it that

actress also did so great in that role like she's so believable looking terrified and doing this like it's fantastic oh I love it and if you yeah if you don't remember she does come back but yeah she's got two lines at the very end of the movie very important lines in English oh in English well I thought I thought it was Spanish and like but by the time we get to the end of the play I think she's speaking in English maybe maybe maybe probably right maybe she's it's in Spanish it is might be in do I get to interpret what she's saying is that what you're saying somebody does I think yes but they lines she does a full scene with no lines in the beginning yes oh I love it that was definitely one of my favorites or when I got to be the the painting painting of the vigil gag there yeah that one was fun I enjoyed that yeah I think actually in the the Final Cut um when mouth is leading her around is saying all that stuff to her I

think after he mentions the um the attic full of sexual torture devices she actually does say she she looks up and actually says something to herself like just yeah yeah like I live in a m this is a mad house or something like that Spanish I yeah heroin yeah everything watch the movie again now that I've seen where it was filmed you know ex was at the beginning of the before we started recording we talking about being this filmed in atoria Oregon small little Seaside town it's used to be an old fishing very very much based on fishing a lot of Norwegians came in and um after having fished out the fish in Norway they came to atoria and had this huge packing and canning um thing until the fish there pretty much went went down hill too um and so now you have this leftover small town that survives a bit on tourism you know there's a big whaling museum and a maritime museum down there and what not but it's not a

large town by any means and you can kind of see there's you know there's a one side of the tracks is a little bit um nicer than the other having I want to watch watch it again and see we walked all the way up and down that town um since it is goon box where they get term goon from and yeah that's like his story's whole claim to fame is this movie like they do celebrations for all its like big anniversaries I sure next year is the 40th anniversary of this movie so it'll probably be some huge Gathering of Goonies fans up there would yeah one thing you brought up there like I never remember again I haven't seen it for a long time but the term goondocks from the movie if it actually made it to the script I don't know I don't remember it Rec yeah um I know Richard talked about I don't know if it's in the script or not and I thought it was really cool to see the how they decided to spell the singular

like gooni and that they just use the word goon a lot like it's cool to see it written because you like you might guess how it might be written spelled like without seeing that but to know all right this is how it was intended that's cool and I think it's supposed to bring out you know this sounds very much like Boondocks too which is the of Southern us equivalent of of living on the wrong side of the tracks yeah yeah there if you go out there there's definitely some buildings still out on the on the docks I me you can actually drive your car out onto one of those long piers and there's a big old restaurant back there and and left the oranic stuff that was a little scary CU it's not wide enough for more than one car at a time you know and you're actually driving across water it looks like this rickety Old Bridge it's a you know and doing that at night time like ah don't fall in yeah yeah good movie it's you know it's

it's very popular still you know it's just especially with folks who watched it in the 80s I guess I'm not sure how H its test of time but um talking about that like one thing we might not want to talk about but what are you guys' feelings on if they did a a remake or sequel oo because the kids would be in there I mean it's almost like a Str because they get a sequel for I mean a remake for a new generation like I have an idea like I hate when they do sequels of like classic movies like this but like even I have an idea for I thought actually this one I I I like because again almost all the characters are still alive so you could get the original cast but hopefully it would still have to be a good solid story yeah I know there have been attempts over the years and they've all kind of fizzled um I think if you go to the like The Goonies Wikipedia article it talks a bit about this um there have been there have

been there's been chatter over the years there been mostly about sequels um I don't know if there's been much talk about doing a remake I think most of the ideas they have are like you know a new generation of Goonies kind of thing um with new kids and bringing back the older the older actors you know more of a a supporting capacity or something to that effect yeah I don't know I don't know what I think about it I I mean I know a lot of you know people you know from my age or or thereabouts I mean I mean kind of mixed thoughts on that I know I think certainly a lot of like firmly Gen X people are like don't touch it ever it's it's it's a it's a um it's a um you know a a it's a it's one of those Classics it's like it's like sacred to many people of that that generation like Space Balls or it's like or you know Labyrinth and all this stuff I mean um never ended story yeah of course that did get plenty of sequels as

did I mean the Karate Kid is another good example of something that that took a kind of a life of its own but yeah I don't know but we mostly ignore all the sequels it's like they didn't even exist yeah yeah I don't know if The Goonies has I me just speaking personally like the ability to kind of like have like a modern like cross-generational appeal in the way that something like the Karate Kid does I don't know I mean I love it but I I I just don't know if it would work now I think the appeal of this movie is a it's got It's it's the Underdog theme right it's the four kids against the rich um that's well a big part of yeah and and um and that that would that would still play true today I would think the other core part of this theme I would think is that it's uh a group of Misfits on an adventure I mean you know they're they're seeking something that's a big huge dream you know who doesn't

want to find pirate gold right um and that part might be a little bit harder I would think to play in the day and age I don't know um we don't know because you have yeah because you have a lot of younger Generations haven't really grown up like playing the same way that kids did in the 80s so I mean things are obviously very different now we have people have grown up with uh with the internet I did not um I mean it came along little bit later on for me and people now have lived their entire lives with social media so it's uh yeah I don't know yeah it's a it's it's just a different landscape it's a that kind of you know classic kind of nostalgic uh let's go let's go find treasure kind of Adventure I think is um yeah I mean Adventure never goes out of style but I think that kind of like the sensibility of it is is kind of very much a product of it time yeah they' be complicated to do or at least to recapture in a way that

um uh would satisfy people who people of the80s and appeal to like a newer generation at the same time I think that's easier as something like the Karate Kid than it is with The Goonies but maybe maybe next what do you think about you know since what what kind of Adventures appeal to younger Generations what would you now I'm being put on the spot um I don't know I a lot of nowadays seems a lot of just my age of people they're they're either there's the sporty kids who I'm shocked that's still around big and then there's the Nerds and the video games there's like no in between and so I assume closer to like video game aspect that they had to put something in there because that's what it seems like my PE my peers are drawn to the most like the Mario movie came out and everyone was addicted to that there was like all these just different movies that are like video game related seem to be doing

a little bit better so if I would have to pick like one thing to tou push on would be video games in some way shape or form like characters or plot or something similar to that yeah and that's not a bad IDE because right around this time was when the Nintendo entertainment system came out and uh video games really hit the bid time was in the mid 80s so that that is kind of way you could kind of connect it yeah um for sure I'm shocked they haven't made a Lord of the Rings esque uh Legend of Zelda like a high quality like Zelda movie I heard that's action zeld in development yeah I mean but also you're also half glad that they didn't edit like again that's one that has to be done right you don't want it to come out flop like other movies yeah I'm I'm nervous about it but it is happening it is happening it's it's it's in the can so we'll see how it turns out now personally the can sorry personally I don't think we

can do a remake of this um it would be like doing a remake of Princess Bride those characters were played by the actors who were meant to play those characters and and it's like how could you possibly recast it's like who but Peter Faulk could tell the story it's it's in my head it's in my being I can't so this one is similar to me it don't mess with perfection yeah Princess Bride is certainly another movie that falls into that group that I was talking about earlier that's considered to be Sacred by many people of that generation and it's don't touch it but of course again yeah you've seen stuff like I mean I keep going back to Cy kid because that's an example of something that when it was revived they're like they were nervous like are people going to still give a about this and then obviously Cobra Kai blew up into a very popular show so yeah I mean I haven't seen the Remake at all I've seen all the the original ones

and all their original sequels but I haven't seen this newest one yet is it a lot different from um the original Karate Kid sort of the Remake the remake movie is with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan but then Skyler is also talking about that there's a TV show on Netflix which is a proper followup to um um the original like four movies the Miyagi movies every yeah because they're all connected by Miyagi so it's in that same continuity but like in the present day like 30 years after the fact follow you know much older Daniel and Johnny and um uh plus a whole new generation of uh of a of a you know uh um Kate uh c kid teenagers yeah um and they make it yeah and it all it all works in a very surprisingly organic way I mean they did work with it's um um um they they did their homework and they they they they managed to kind of thread the needle in a way that that um as satisfied people who love those original

movies while also blowing it up with this huge popular modern show so now they kept Ralph as the teach like he's in it but he's a teacher Daniel yeah Daniel and Johnny both are in like Sensei uh kind of kind of teacher roles in the in this version different different philosophies towards fighting and seeing the world and whatnot it's it's quite entertaining seeing them I haven't I haven't seen it but I I did hear that Ralph was in it and I think that was genius now having mentioned uh Will Smith and Jackie Chan before seeing it I thought how can they even possibly but I loved it I I loved the Remake so I'm I'm somebody who will sit here and go you can't do it but when I see it I go oh well okay you got away with it and and there's certain movies that like the new generation that they saw they don't know the old movies existed like and not that they were necessar Classics but like the uh Judy

Garland wizard of O isn't the first wizard of ozs movie ever made I think they did like two attempts before that and same like Robin Hood had multiple movies at like at different stages and stuff yeah Robin Hood is like one of the most remade uh stories in film I believe yeah I have a a very old Robin Hood book I I have some antique books and yeah very cool and and very cool to the ending of that a lot of people don't realize how Robin Hood actually expired um he was sick and he went to a nunery and they and during that time they would bleed people with leeches and they I don't know did they forget about him or did they was it on purpose I don't know they left him there with the leeches sucking them dry so I don't believe it that's the story that they told to the sheriff and others to go after them so he could live happily ever after well on that I've got a go tonight it's getting too late for me but it's

been great to read with you and I'm looking forward to uh seeing youall next week all right sounds good night Courtney wait see you Courtney thank you bye-bye Battle Star Galactica is another one of those that they totally redid the series on you know you have the classic80s version with the the cute little robot dog thing D Dag is that right you know you have Starbuck and Apollo and oh my God they changed the gender on you know on one of those characters um so yeah but it seemed that the the new series seemed to be pretty popular too from tell and what about what's the other one uh Danger real Robinson oh utter space Oh I know I can't think of the name of it but the new series on Netflix I loved like I didn't really watch the original one too much and just seen it the outside it seems corny but I'm sure it was good it's good uh but Vicky your face says you don't like the new one no I'm trying

to think of the name and I hate it when my brain won't let me know I I'll search it up while we yes what I've heard go ahead Jackson sorry from what I've heard the only people who cannot ever be allowed to make remakes but they still keep making remakes is Disney I've heard to many bad things about that when it comes to remakes but well Lost in Space Lost in Space see I I was almost there yeah oh yeah supp we could ask Jacob about the Disney thing what do you what is your I was gonna put that out to anybody are there any sequels that Disney made that were any good I guess the remix I I don't know I didn't mind I didn't mind The Little Mermaid I thought that remake was fun but it got a lot of controversy I think they got away with it with Parent Trap the second one was just as good as the first one that's real people that one was a really good I love that one Disney might be crippled by the fact that you know

historically when you think of Disney you think of kids you know you don't look at Disney with adult movies necessarily you know I think Bambi is one of the you know top things and and Bambi has some pretty tragic stuff happening in it right the beginning I was traumatized I Bambi as a child but I mean you know you think kids and um so you're thinking you're trying so hard to appeal to kids you sometimes forget that the success of the movie depends on making it something that the adults want to watch too yes so like they're one of they did one movie The Great Mouse Detective which didn't it was a animated movie it didn't get much um I don't think it was very popular but laugh through the whole thing because all the jokes they put in it were ones that would go right over the kids heads the adult laughing like crazy in the aisles you know and um when you can do that kind of thing to a kids's movie then I

think it's um it's helpful but you know Disney sometimes tries so hard to fit within this little framework of we have to stay a kids movie um that miss out on the the essence of the story a lot of the movies they did um kind of really from that time onward it's kind of like from 60s 7s certainly to the 80s 90s when you get into what we call the Disney Renaissance stuff I think they were they weren't um when they really hit their stride a lot of that stuff they weren't quite as worried about appealing to kids I mean look at stuff like The Lion King and um or hun of NRE Dame or hunch back of NRE Dam which yeah I mean I mean yeah is a movie that I mean was deeply kind of it wasn't popular unpopular at the time because oh it's so it's too dark but it it's aged extremely well I mean um I mean they they they were willing they were willing to go places I think uh um um 20 30 years ago especially that um they're a bit more

reluctant to to go now um but yeah it's hard for them to remake their own stuff in a way that and it's i l they doing you know it's very kind of a cynical thing that just kind of like oh it's time for us to to remake this stuff it's getting old and they they see it as kind of like an easy cash cow because then there's a built-in market for it but and the thing is like like you said it's the built-in Market where I think like if you say people are you g to go watch this or you going to go watch this thing that has Nostalgia and the name you recognize attached to it and they're like most people do choose that and you're like no but yeah I think uh your choice of Lion King was awesome because that's actually Hamlet bringing Hamlet to Children it is it's literally Hamlet yeah and the sequel if you've seen that which um is probably one of the only halfway decent Disney sequels is is it's Rome and Juliet

fundamentally um so they they they're going back into the Shakespeare well for that but on the subject of Just Like Remix in general I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it we were talking about all this 80 stuff it completely slipped my mind because we have a b pretty big one coming up a couple months and that's uh Beetle Juice sequel after all this time after the fact it's like is that gonna do that well I mean may I mean outside of people who loved the original I don't know it'll be it'll be interesting to see I think I think it helps that it has the musical it has an amazing movie True um the musical is right now it seems at least I'm I just finished a musical and everybody was talking about Beetlejuice I swear never left like we had a karaoke night all we sang was bee songs like it's so popular right now I think it's good to capitalize on that when they did or at least it seems as a the Geeks in the behind the stage what

we music does seem really popular now yeah that that's that's a good point I've never seen juice oh your Miss told you big rock big rock I mean it is a unique style it's a unique type of movie so yeah yeah it's okay you're forgiven you're forgiven but yeah know it is so much I love it and I um I think also it helps that the music uh the person who plays be juice in the musical is like expanding all over the internet right now so people are hearing his voice and are like what is that from oh where is some of his other things so I think if I'm not wrong it's Alex Brightman who does the Beetle Juice of the original casting and he's been all over the animated internet right now for shows and all that so I think that also helps publish Beetle Juice as like oh my gosh this whole new generation this whole new generation is gonna be like why wasn't it that actor why is it this Michael Keaton Guy what's he because

they know the musical guy as juice but I think it's great that go ahead sorry no I was just I was saying I was just saying what you said yeah yeah kind of like they do with like the flash or whatever like why isn't the TV actor the Flash and it's oh yeah that's that's older can worms but yeah it's the same kind of thing like why is it the same guy should be should be the same guy some people think that way but yeah it's funny it's funny thinking out I guess in the last when the beers come out 86 ' 87 oh my gosh yeah it's um um that within that amount of time yeah they're um they're probably are people yeah who have never saw like Michael Keaton ases Beetlejuice or or Monona Ryder yeah it's kind it's in that movie is it's weird to think that but yeah aren't there some people coming back from like original casting coming back for the second one I thought well Rona Ryder and and Michael of course I

thought so I was like I was pretty sure that they're coming back to reprise it and we had a few there couple actors they wanted to bring back who passed away which is I mean one of the one of the things that when you re when you revive something after 38 years that's gonna happen although it's modern technology sometimes that doesn't necessarily make a difference I mean well one yeah like some of the stuff that Disney you're going back to Disney yeah they sure love to bring people back from the dead with technology nowadays yeah show off that they can but of krie Fisher at the end of Rogue one you know and looking like she did just right in in the original Star Wars obviously doesn't I'm like how how did they do that they did it in Rogue one they did it um the other actor Mandalorian they did it yeah they in the Mandalorian they did it they recreated young Luke yeah also the other one with Peter

Cushing I think that's his name yes and Peter Cushing as grandma talking yeah him too also yeah I watch it with my dad he's all it looks like it but I know it can't be because he's dead like how like yeah he was like how what no like yeah it helps a lot that AI technology is growing and growing and growing does it does it does it help I'm just kidding well it helps them make their lives a lot easier because all they need is just some samples of their voice and boom you got that yeah yeah a lot of ethical things there oh my oh so much yeah I I joined the union last year because I did not want to deal with that ever again I lost I lost a job to Ai and just like nope nope nope I I see where things are going so yeah I need some kind of of legal protection Beyond me having conversations with people and dealing with word of mouth and course shortly after that was when the strike started so um yeah I ended up joining

the Union in the middle of the strike and want strike pretty much immediately it was it was definitely a time yeah the industry still in tatters now it's like yeah I mean who knows what yeah the future is gonna hold but we'll see yeah video video game contract is still in limbo over this and we're I mean those of us in voice over still kind of waiting on pins and needles there because it seems very likely at this point that's probably going to fall through and we're going to go on strike but yeah it's it's been in negotiations for two years like over two years now it's not a good sign sorry the cat in I know we appreciate their um background rolls during the table read that was funny I heing this cat yeah it was amazing there they are well when you have seven of them you know it's that the lik one of them not meowing is pretty small very low it still it still won't be the time where we just had to listen in pain for you as

things just kept getting knocked down in the back and breaking as we're trying to read this script and there's just so many glass and stuff shatter that was the wasn't it quite fitting we needed that yep thankfully they didn't break too much so they knocked the jar off the thing and broke the lid but not the jar so oh that's interesting yeah today they've been mostly well behaved but yeah a mute button you know only works when you don't have a line so oh well we've been chatting for like another 48 or so minutes um so we should probably wrap this up and I'll put another event page up for next week see if we get other signups and then after that we have only in the building should be shorter because it's a pilot episode of a television series so I haven't looked at the script yet but um I'm so sad I'll have to miss that one comedy mystery murder mystery supposedly so whatever that in tals well it was an

excellent after talk yeah it it was hopefully I'll see most of you next week or the week after or in the weeks coming thereof um and do some more reading this is fun it's always fun thank you so much for offering this thank you Cat and everyone yes thank just taking over from Jacob he's a your uh instigator it was great having your contribution Skyler excellent yes yes it was a lot I loved your characters oh my go a lot of fun yeah I don't know I don't know I don't know when I'll be back whenever my schedule permits and I see something that's like oh um that'd be fun to do kill some time I mean it's possible I yeah I I'll keep my I'll just keep my eyes out and uh yeah we'll see how it goes yep same with Shakespeare on Saturdays so yeah same with Shakespeare I mean yeah for Shakespeare um yeah I'm considering I'm considering um directing Lear whenever you do that maybe yeah mid mid somewhere down

halfway down the schedule wherever that is because if if the time if the timing works out because that that is my favorite but cool all right well we'll say good night to you all and have a great night yep we will see you soon see you soon bye bye have fun
