The biggest station. Day four. Week four. Week 10. Week 13. Hail is the hardest week so far.
This is my best friend, Amomar. We've been traveling, building, and creating together for the past 10 years. We've essentially grown up together, spending our entire 20s side by side. And a few months ago, he stepped away to focus on something that has defeated him year after year. Uh, this is what I look like at 30 years old with 27 1/2% body fat.
Day one of under this sweat. Day one. Day one. Today is day one. From the first day that I've known Amar, he's never had trouble committing to and showing up for his big audacious goals. Conquering experiences that most of us wouldn't even dare to approach. But there is one thing that he's consistently failed at over and over again. And we've watched him struggle with it away from the cameras for many years now. And that simple thing is showing up for the repetitive and often mundane work that is required for one to take good care of their health and mind. His challenges with ADHD affect this part of his entire life more than any other. At some point though, he thought he cracked it. 100 days of sweat. Break a sweat through movement every day for 100 days and post the proof every day on his Instagram. That surprisingly worked once.
100 DAYS. LET'S GO. maybe twice out of the five different attempts over five years. His last few attempts at the challenge were left unfinished and he simply became too afraid to try again and fail. In all our conversations though, he was always aware that he will not be able to level up in his life and dreams until he figures out a way to prioritize his physical and mental fitness. A few months ago, Amomar made the decision to step away from filming and not be back until he figured it out. He had just been given the opportunity to follow up on a promise he made to himself and us after he finished the LA Marathon in 2018 without having trained a single day for it. He had promised 7 years ago that he would run another marathon but actually train for it this time. So when he was offered a bib for the most iconic marathon on earth under the condition that he manages to complete a full marathon
training program on an app called Runner, it lit up a fire under him and he accepted the challenge. But to be honest, even though I was cheering for him, I was also very worried and highly skeptical if he would actually be able to stick to his training program. I don't even feel like filming right now because I feel like I've just done this so many times and I've failed at this so many times. But this is day one. I've attempted at starting this trarathon training. We're now 19 weeks away from the New York Marathon and I get to run in my favorite city in the whole world. So, let's do it.
Start running. Day one. Day three. It's day five. First long run. I'm doing a run with some of the Yes fan today. This is going to be my longest run for like the past 3 years.
This is week 10 and I'm in my 10th country training in 10 weeks. Exactly 1 month from today, I will be running the New York City Marathon. It's changed my life. That's the only thing I can say. To be almost 4 months in and not having missed a single session, there's nothing in my life that I can refer to that I can point out and say I committed to the max. So, just feels really good. And uh now a quick 6 and 1/2 6 and 1/2 km. And
this is the session before last cuz in 5 days I get to run the New York City Marathon.
Miraculously and against all historical records for Amar, he managed to show up every single training session designed for him by the Runna app. Amar's favorite part of the app, the gamification of the entire training plan allowed him to hit all his goals to get to the predicted time of under 4 hours for the New York City Marathon, which would be a massive improvement from the 5 hours and 42 minutes that he finished the LA Marathon in. At this point, while we were stuck on a deserted island and unable to be there for Amar's big day, it was time for him to get to New York City where a handful of surprises was awaiting for him there.
Over the last 2 days, I've had three different friends call me and tell me that they're surprising me by coming in from different countries around the world. We're here to meet the person who came from Brazil. I swear I can't imagine someone I would want a pep talk from more than him. Good to see you.
Andrew Hoffman was our first ever seek discomfort sponsored athlete who accomplished the first ever iron man in Antarctica here to support Amar on his marathon.
I've been emotional all morning. I think I'm having like a I'm in a running algorithm and I'm just any any video of anyone crossing a finish line. I'm like I'm just getting emotional.
It's going to be fine. I also don't want to put perceptions into your mind like the people that said you you know usually you can't sleep the day before. So now you think you're not can sleep because that's what people told you everything is going to be different you know
I would say whatever you experience don't worry about it. Yeah. That's why he's here. That's why he's here.
And then Matt who we started this channel with 10 years ago also joining to cheer on Amar. going. Let's go.
You fly from freaking Brazil. Yes. Wow. I told him like, "Oh, my guy from Barcelona." He was like, "I'm coming."
Yeah. Cheers. Good to see you. 2 days before the marathon, Amomar, with the help of the Runna team organized a group run for the Yes community in New York. A lot of Yes subscribers had actually trained alongside Amar in the community space on the runa app. So it only felt right to do the last shakeout run together.
Wow, this is way more than I thought at at the 7 7:30 show up in New York City. Welcome everyone. These are the final kilometers that I have in my training program for uh Sunday. The journey started with the S3 community in Paris doing the first or the second run. So, it feels pretty special to be with the S3 community in in New York doing these final final miles with you guys. Seeing so many faces from people we've met on the streets who are in episodes with us. Feels amazing to be seeing so many new faces and and old familiar ones. Got in touch with RUA about 4 months ago. I had already heard from my running friends about the app and they all swore by it. I got to try it and 19 weeks later I've shown up to every single mile of my program to every single session and I feel prepared.
You were one of two people who motivated me to do marathons. Okay. So it was you and Nate from Nate and Cara. I had just had a baby during co catching up with like all of the videos. Just totally fell in love with you guys.
This will be my sixth marathon. Super mom over here. Sixth marathon. Sixth marathon. And then hopefully
that's amazing. I've been wearing this since 2022 and my dad died so I needed to keep him close. So because I didn't want to take this off because this gave me so much power, I added my dad to it.
And I wear this every single day. Well, I I am honored and I am so touched by your words. Thank you for being here.
Watching you 2015, 10 years. Oh my god. Wait, you see that? Wow, you're showing me off. Yours is bigger, man.
I got it after watching and then started started with running, started doing Iron Man. I must have had a documentary of uh Matt.
Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, "Okay, I also do stuff." Wow. A lot of adventures like inspired by your videos.
This guy's been inspiring me. Not only your personal family, the the family you've grown. It's always inspiring people who are here with you per like in person and abroad. And I think that's a beautiful thing this guy has.
Thank you, brother. Some of my stretches on run also led by him. So very familiar face of I've like done every single session. That is every I've showed up to every single kilometer. I'm ready.
You just got to got to go and have the the party lap. Yeah. Yeah, and I think that really is the case that like the marathon is the victory lap at the end of as you've done like weeks and weeks and weeks of training.
As the emotional and final miles are ran before race day, surrounded by hundred of you who watch us through the screen, we are reminded that our mission with Yes Theory isn't just to share stories, but that our philosophy of saying yes to life and seeking discomfort is ultimately meant to bring us all together.
1 2 3. Yes. Hey, so many tattoo morning. Usually I've got friends and people around, but with this one, with the logistics of the race, it's just really hard to have like someone with me to film. So, I'm going to be doing all of this today by myself. Film, run, pace myself.
All right, just got to Stan Island where the race is going to start. It is chilly, more chilly than I thought. I'm wearing flip flops.
There he is. Let's go, man. I'm in the tent waiting with about 200 runners. Energy is amazing. So many people coming up to say hi.
It is happening. Heading out to the starting line right now. Nerves are hitting. That's the cannon for the wave before us. Wow. It's so funny cuz I' I don't think I've ever gotten nervous when I didn't prepare. Now that I've prepared, I'm so nervous.
What was something that would make people smile or laugh? This is not as important as you know.
I saw one. That with a data t. Yeah. Yeah. Dad. That booty. Judy. Got to go. Oh god. Oh god.
And all of a sudden, 133 days of training later, the much awaited moment was upon us.
Okay, we're here. Let's go. Wow, this is quite surreal. Come on. We are now officially off island. Amazing. Welcome to Brooklyn. Enjoy. Yes, you made it. We made it. I'm so proud of you, bro. But so far so good. Keeping up with my splits and should be at the finish line in like 3 hours and 10 minutes. Keep it up.
This is so sick. about 30% of the way. I feel good. Yo, Habibs, I assume you're in the middle of the marathon, which is crazy. Just want to send you so much love and strength and uh courage, and I'm super proud of all the consistency that you've been showing up with. That's what this run is all for. It's to celebrate that and the starting of a new seed and a new chapter. Go get him. Go get him.
This is literally the best parade I've ever been a part of. Every time you hit a slump, you see something. I can't speak right now. I should just focus. This is not LA 2018. I got to focus now. Manhattan, here we come. Mile 20. Let's go. Okay, these gels are not sitting well right now. Feel like throwing up. Okay, we got this. I don't get tired and I don't feel pain. Two and a half miles out. A slight cramp.
Yes. LET'S GO. HERE WE GO. THAT'S IT. That's it. That's it. I guess that's why the New York City Marathon is the magical one the whole way. People just showing unconditional love and support.
Wow. Unreal. Under 4 hours. 3:54. Thank you. Four months in the making. The trick they don't tell you is that life's greatest transformation isn't found in the extraordinary, but in the mundane, in the daily small steps we take that over time get to reshape our narrative over who we are. And so, the true lesson here for Amar wasn't the marathon itself. But the person he had to slowly transform into to achieve this incredible feat so seamlessly. Oddly enough, the barrier Amomar had had up until this point was decisions and choice paralysis over his training. But our friends at Runna with their straightforward training app took all of that away with his entire plan custom created for him which anyone else can get based on your goals and your timeline. As 2025 comes to an end, a year that's been challenging and painful for so much of the world, I hope we all enter 2026 with the perspective of taking more
intentional care of ourselves. If running has been on your list of goals for a long time, this is your sign to start. And we couldn't recommend RUA more. Scan the QR code on screen or use the link in the description with the code seek discomfort for a 2e free trial. Runner will build you a custom training plan just for you. But honestly, it comes down to you finding whatever system you need to keep showing up. Because it's on the days where we want to give up that it matters the most. And so in 2026, don't give up on yourself. Don't let your past define your future because you're only one small daily decision away from the transformation you're seeking.
