what is up everyone and welcome back to another lost Sky Skywatch update this past week has been truly exciting as not only did the newest Skywatch release but also within the same day L Sky's first official gameplay reveal trailer was shown off on the future game show this past Wednesday where not only did we get to see an amazing Peak into the world of lost Skies but also share more of the world and what it is that makes lost sky so great so today I'm going to be going over not only the most recent Skywatch but also covering some of the in-depth and important details to point out within the newest Gameplay trailer as well as cross referencing some of those more in-depth material that was shared with these skywatches that might help you get an even better understanding of where the devs actually are in development at least within the scope of publicly shared information but before we get to that I'll be starting with the
smaller list of publicly released editions and as we go on we will move more and more in- depth to the really interesting changes that the devs have made to the game starting with the UI improvements the teams UI artist has been putting in work on various screens to help enhance the experience where as you can see in the images she has revised the inventory prompts to make navigation easier and put in context clues on the toolbar to help the UI maintain an easier level of understanding additionally it seems that there is a setting to help guide the player in using these different functions both for PC users and for controller players as well where it seems we'll be able to have four main equipment hot bar slots for whatever tools or items we want to Quick select and the fifth option for the gall disc which will be used for different menu selection and building options as well additionally we also get an image of the
updated UI for some of the item organization in the game showing off the different categories of crafting utility ship weapons Essentials decoration structural and ship flight itself which seems to show the cool Gall disc icon on the top left for reference and next to this Ellen has also continued with more changes and updates to the ongoing bar versus wheel debate for the stamina display play where after a lot of back and forth with the teams programmers they have decided to test the bar option first where they provide the reasoning that the wheel might be trickier due to the dynamic movement of the character but that it's not off the table where I do want to point out here that while the bar is more flush with the screen and does fit really nicely I do personally really like the wheel simply for its visual aesthetic as well as the provided options showing off these circular structures vaguely similar or at least
reminiscent to the gall script that we've talked about before although let me know in the comments what you guys think about that cuz it's kind of an ongoing debate that the team is having on whether or not the wheel or bar is better so just let me know but moving on Ellen has also made some changes to refine the helm control toolbar and wheel for smoother solo boss fights where they do also indicate that when the player is in the helm itself they will have the option to Quick switch over to the selected weapons but also to pull the weapon wheel while in the helm and while I can't say for certain I imagine the benefit of having both options is that if you want to quickly switch over to a nearby weapon on your hot bar you will have that option but likely in your ship when it gets bigger and bigger over time as you implement more and more weapons and you start to accumulate them on your ship
you will need to be able to quickly look at all the weapon options that you have and see which one you want specifically to select depending on what type of combat situation you are in so in this aspect I think having both allows you to account for saving precious time so that you can keep focus on what boss or entity you may be fighting at that given moment is now before we move on to these ship changes we do have newly made concept art from Jonathan Betts you likely saw in this video's thumbnail that was made for the gall arcs we were hinted at a few skywatches before and to quickly recap what these ships were for is effectively lifeboats that were created to save the remnants of humanity which I've gone a bit more in depth for in the past skywatches but regardless in this most recent Skywatch the devs indicate here once again that these arcs will be playing a vital role in your exploration and survival throughout the
skies where in this same photo they provide not only an image of the damaged looking Arc but an undamaged reference texture and references from the previously shown Arc Computer Concepts as well and even what looks like the gall saw blade which we've seen in the past skywatches but also in a previously shared press release of the in-game images as well moving on to the ship changes Tony has implemented a series of quality of life improvements for ship build building chip frames as they mentioned now feature beveled extended lips on the external beams enhancing the look while keeping the deck practical additionally they have also made some material rendering improvements showing off the difference in rendering coloration and texture that is used as indicators for the different Wing types in a testing area which can now be internally put into the game and lastly they show a quick video of the improved
panel placement format which shows off how the different paneling options within the game can now be properly placed within the new panel and decking changes where they Ed an example of both the metal and wood panels and to finish off with this thanks to the team's artist John all ship assets are now correctly scaled to fit the new deck sizes where they give a player model size indicator among other different shaped items including stairs furnace table chair assets and everything else in between as well as different lamp rug internal decor and even the little baby Nautilus trapped within the jar which we've seen before as well looking super adorable as always so yeah moving on to the herald in the most recent trailer for lost Skies among the many different clips shown off within the trailer between the beautiful atmospheric lighting and particle effects the thing that we see at the very end of the
trailer is what can only be attributed as Herold I would guess or possibly a variation that has yet to be fully seen which I will get to in just a bit here regardless the team has been working hard on making the heral look truly epic where they mention that Jon with the help of several others has truly brought this to life which will definitely make new players first encounter feel very intimidating which with a mix of interesting details including brush and even trees growing on the entity shows off the terrifying beauty of the boss and what seems to be the idol animation and from this video they provide it seems as though the boss-- like entity is in some way akin to a mixture of living and technological combination with very interesting Engravings on the outside that seems to be somewhat similar in style to the gall script like symbols the devs have hinted us once before with but yet seems to be somewhat
different at the same time so it's not exactly clear in what this is but while there is no information provided on the details and background for this entity in a story perspective for the game I think it's fair to say that for the designs of the different serifs or bosses they do absolutely look stunning and the last thing I also want to quickly point out within this video here is the pulsating material which in case you remember back in many skywatches before was a very cool material that was introduced and shown off in an awesome format coiling around in the air while it pulsated in place and I think this material is what's being used here in this type of boss on the in between linkages of different arms and elbow pieces on the heral and it definitely showcases the herold's visual design in between those sections of the actual bosses itself in a very beautiful way Additionally the devs have shown off the
gray box edition of grebles these are pieces that the player will shoot off the heral and be key in breaking down the herold's defenses and making an overall encounter with it feel more Dynamic we'll also get to see a fantastic top- down photo of Harold which shows off the boss's detail in general shape now I do want to take the time and point out here that in the Lost guys trailer we do get to see something which seems to be Herald or at least something similar however someone did recently point out that the iteration in what the dev shared in the Skywatch doesn't have this large ring near the front of the entity and that this might not be the same creature which yes it's very possible as two skywatches back we got to see much of the concept art for the white box Herald designs before however the indication of this new ringed front design is nowhere to be seen on the public pages in any of the
conceptual information that was provided hinting that this may in fact be a new type of boss or something else altogether additionally it does seem when compared proportionally to the video we saw of a character climbing around the herald in Idol animation this boss in the trailer is much bigger in proportion as the character is flying a massive ship and yet with how far away the boss is it still looks massive beyond recognition so it's possible that this is another type as well and we may be able to see more of what this is later on but at least for now we'll have to wait on getting answers in respect to that moving on behind the scenes Kev one of the team's programmers created a new tool for Designing and experimenting with different orb formations for the herald fight this lets the team test out different combos of attacks to optimize the fight so that players have the best experience and from what I understand in
this format they can effectively create arrays of elements within Unity that demonstrate different series of orbit attack patterns and structures that can then be optimized for the different fighting scenarios with different grid-like placements and lastly for the heral specific content the team's audio programmer Mark has also been focusing on the sound design for the heral fight layering the tension to match the visuals the results are actually really good and really moody honestly and while this isn't like the finished fight for the boss obviously just as an example to show off the audio for this type of encounter and attack pattern it nonetheless looks fantastic and sounds fantastic which is what they're testing but where I do also want to say I quite like the foggy and dark and shrouding look in the fight and while it's hard to see in this video since it's only 720p and there are small floating smoke
particles moving around the character within this Cloud which again going back to the trailer image of the mysterious boss entity we do also notice what looks like large and orange dark clouds that seem to be following the entity making me wonder if those particles are generated as exhaust from the machine like boss itself and in case the old world of drift fans remember does seem to take reminiscent aspects similar to the blight that would travel from Island to Island clearing off different wreckages in the MMO servers and resetting the islands the next thing the devs share with us here is the ship Diagnostics and HP where they state that Thomas the teams programmer has introduced a new ship core Diagnostics feature that lets you check your ship State remotely which will definitely be an extremely useful change for longer Journey Jes that you take away from where you leave or dock your ship on any
given Island at a time where they quickly show us a player registering and unregistering from a test ship which shows the player list of not only each type of component existing in your ship but the quantity of those editions as well and even their proportional weight added onto the craft where the interface also seems to let you know what the ship's capabilities are in terms of Max weight that it can handle and Max altitude that it can reach the next things that the devs have shared here is is the particle effects in atmosphere where they state that the team's VFX artists Ian and Tech artists Andy teamed up to bring more atmosphere to the sky where they mention that they want you to imagine Embers Gathering and intensifying as the tension ramps up during the fights where they show off an example of a character running around and slowly making adjustments to both the quantity of Embers and vibrancy of
their appearance within the environment which they finish off by doing some kind of launch catapult move with the grappling hook into the trees above which is very cool but from this I imagine it will be likely used not only in the encounters with the bosses but possibly even entities that might appear on the islands themselves and in respect to this addition I certainly think it makes me excited to see what the devs will put together for future weather related events I know personally one of the big things that I've been wanting to eventually see in this game is periodic and sudden rolling weather events that hit the different Islands within the game which I think would add to the atmosphere of the game as well in some aspect I do think it would be cool to implement something Akin in likeness to the blight that was in world's drift that traveled from Island to Island but instead of just causing violent weather
and clearing leftover wreckages maybe increases the spawn rate or aggro rates of different enemies and additionally maybe it even offers increased Loot drop rates in chests or add special loot pools and items say if a heavy storm was running through as you explored the island similarly I think it would also be really awesome to see this type of event happen in the skies as as well even if a light storm passes by I'm imagining building a super cozy ship with a small funnel of smoke coming out the top with a beautiful warm fire small plants and crops growing a top my ship as it floats through the vast Skies around me as I'm led by the soothing deep thunder and rain just that laying back warm feeling that just can't really be put into words but I will still try miserably uh but I am getting ahead of myself with that one but moving on to the next next Edition the machine guns here the devs provide an awesome video
of What appears to be ingame with the player firing a brand new machine gun weapon where they say Tom has introduced a ship mounted machine gun currently the most powerful ship weapon in the game they take heavy rounds and are really good at swarm style enemies and handling multiple projectiles machine guns also come with really big recoil and can rotate 360° so they do in fact mention to try your best not to kill your teammates and that they still need to finish out the remainder of the weapons VFX and sfx functions but regardless from this video we get to see an example showing off how this awesome weapon just melts through enemy drones as well as showing off that this weapon can even melt your own ship if you're not careful lastly they do also show off how a single player can switch to a gun control mode remotely where the player goes so far to start shooting himself at the helm until it explodes and kills
himself but nonetheless I think the demonstration actually shows what you can do with these different functions and I think it does make me curious if they plan to add this eventually to be only a remote control function or for just all the weapon and Cannon types just for those solo players or at least maybe to the more advanced Weaponry where I could see this making more sense to me if it was just for the super high-tech stuff that can have those types of remote controllers within them to actually switch to that in a Solo mode but it kind of depends on what direction they they go I think they could kind of go either way so it doesn't necessarily matter to me what they do in that regard but again this is all my own speculation so do take those points with a grain of salt another very cool addition that the devs have made is the Shipwreck and Cannon models where they state that the Shipwreck model has
been finalized after the core of the ship is destroyed and your ship implodes what's left in the skies will look very unsettling where they state that the Twisted heap of metal and wood will remain Airborne until retrieved by a player where they also put out a warning that these wreckages of what was your ship will attract a sea creature like entity known as limpets which I will get to later second to this addition the team's 3D artist Kenny has also finished an amazing New Cannon model which is shown off beautifully which from what I can tell only is somewhat of a medium grade weapon as it only kind of has mild scuff marks and damages and rusted assets while still looking like a very powerful and capable weapon moving on to a new creature Edition we have the the thite in case you guys remember back in the days of world's drift there were once bug likee creatures called thto mites and they were Revisited by Ed and
brought into lost Skies with an updated look and design structure next up we have a fantastic update on the new Sky whales from our last Skywatch in case you remember from the last time the models for these whales were properly made and it was also hinted at the fact that we may need to go mining for a valuable resource on these whales and at this stage the devs have made it so you can now board the sky Wheels while providing a fantastic video with the player showing off how those resources are collected where they start by using the gall mining tool to break off what seems to be the large Atlas crystals where you can see the second they come off they begin to float away requiring you to have to Grapple to them and pull them toward you as you stand on the whale itself while also being mindful to not allow yourself to fall off the creature on accident which I think is a great seeing how not only is the
grappling hook being used just for traversal but also for the player to use it to pull small objects toward you thanks to the dev's physics engine and moving on to the limets as I mentioned before in case you remember limpets are also a callback that was recently added these pesky creatures will latch on to your ship when you go through large clouds and slowly eat away at your ship mentioning that the team's Tech artist Danny has fully rigged and animated them with the help of Matt on the coding end which it seems that likely as was mentioned before until you can retrieve the imploded wre of your ship these type of enemies are what you will encounter as you attempt to get it back likely deep within the clouds themselves and unfortunately that is all I have for the skywash which I must say was absolutely jam-packed with content for this last pass and honestly I must say between all the events that have been going on with
the company having to deal with humble games letting their employees go this definitely is an indicator of good things to come in my opinion I don't only say this to be nice too as I genuinely mean this within a logical set of of reasoning on the 15th of this past month a new official addition was made to the community Discord a man named Adam which it seems that he is now become the new community manager likely in place of stright God Rest his soul for he will not be forgotten who is now taking charge of the community platforms and helping to build out the Lost guys brand through creative initiatives which while I can't say for certain may or may not be a new person helping with lost guys from the PO group through humble games as his position largely is in the realm of the aspects for a publishers job for a game like lost skies and with how open and honest he is about his personal experience and background I
think he'll be a fantastic addition to the community hence leading to my previous point in that between everything going down with the recent publisher at the current moment the state of Las sky and its overall growth is staying very much in a great place not only have the devs been working hard to create and pump out so many updates on new and interesting content but even at the same time working to have an actual official lost guy sneak peek trailer made and shared officially on the future games show which has been crucial in getting more people learning about lost guys as a whole which is just so fantastic to see now before I end off here I do want to take time once again to thank my YouTube channel member gecko for the support in becoming a member for this channel while I can't promise you much for it I can promise that if you do decide to become a member you will receive the ability to have a funny tag
next to your name wow and a little emoji that either says the goat or just big cheese as as your name shared at the end of the video as I am currently doing but once again there is no obligation so I want to thank you all so much for watching and keeping in check with all the cool stuff that's been going on with lost skies and like always stay healthy stay well and have a beautiful rest of your day boys peace
